I buy the envelope style satin pillow cases to prevent mine from slipping off the pillow (sooo annoying!) They have a flap that folds over and keeps the pillow in. They are slippery! Amazon sells them.

I'm relaxed and have a short and long pixie cut. I'm currently trying to grow it out. I just started deep conditioning every week. I'm currently doing my own hair at home during this quarantine. I just wash, condition and deep condition. I just been letting my hair air dry lately. I don't wear braids, wigs nor weaves. My hair is also shedding I get relaxers every 3 months should I stretch them to every 6 months? My beautician is dominican and she told me to stop relaxers and to do kerintain treatments, but they are way to expensive. What do you think about kerintain treatments?Also, what are your recommendations for growing and thickening my edges? And now that I'm doing my own hair and is currently thinking of changing my stylist, do you know any one in Tampa, FL that you'll highly recommend?
your waiting to long to do your touch-ups the new growth is a thicker and healthier texture and the end are chemically treated and more fragile.. The fragile hair which is older and weakened by blowing and flat ironing etc. detaches from the new hair where the new hair ends and the older chemically treated hair begins...It happens when you wait too long between relaxers.The old hair breaks off and away from the newer hair. The two don't play well together.Lol You must either relax the roots within a two month period ,which is how long it takes to grow a little over an inch of hair for some or you MUST keep it conditioned in every way shape for and fashion you can if you wait longer than two months.Also, it would help if you blow the roots to soften the roots making them more compatible to the ends. Hopefully they play nice then!!!
If your hair mats while shampooing try detangling before you wash it and single braid it first before shampooing. After your 1st two shampoos take the braids out, rinse your hair without vigorously manipulating it, next detangle your hair and single braid again while adding your conditioner.after letting your conditioner sit rinse the conditioner out with cool water while the braids are still in.

Yes. Flat ironing makes ALL of it hard and brittle. My Mom did it when I was younger and my hair wouldn't grow any length. She trimmed and "greased" our hair regularly. It grew shoulder length and no more. I tried it in my thirties and my hair cracked even though it was done at a medium temperature. I used heat protective serums and it made no difference. Hair was all over the floor and shoulders. I use Schwartz....Repair Shampoo and Conditioner and untangle it in the shower with my fingers. I've chopped off 4" four times in the past year. There's a patch that runs from the crown to the shoulders and breaks off so that all my hair has to be cut even though the rest doesn't. It does NOT relax at all. I'M CONSIDERING SHAVING IT ALL OFF AS I CAN ONLY WEAR IT IN A FRENCH BUN. Crystal knows the science of hair and I trust her advice as I can see with my own eyes the awesome work she does. There has to be something I can do. If her products can help, I'm on-board all the way!!!

I have found that black caster oil with coconut oil is a good choice. You definitely do NOT need a whole lot of oil. Unfortunately my hair growth problem is from hormone imbalance and medication 😔
If your hair is natural use lusters s curl activator to moisturize your hair. Add coconut oil and avocado oil to seal it in. Wash your hair once a week with Joico moisture recovery shampoo and conditioner. Deep condition your hair for 30 mins under a plastic cap
