It always makes me laugh when dispatch calls me at 530 on the way home and says" Can you run one more call? It's JUST a water leak. Should be really quick .". It's never really quick, nor is it ever just a water leak. 😀
20 years in the field, and I’ve learned so much from your videos and the emails back and forth, thank you again for taking the time to make these entertaining and more importantly educational videos.
Im a new tech, and self employed. Your channel is my primary source of education 👍 ive watched some of the other channels you recommend, yours is my favorite though 😁
I was a general contractor for 2 years, that's not very long, and decided I wanted to be able to flip a house and do my own HVAC. I took the local program for HVACR and started taking the work it when the phone rang. I wouldn't recommend anyone try this without experience. I make so many mistakes on refrigeration compared to experienced techs. I love it, and luckily I have recently had a seasoned tech tell me to call him anytime. Had to cash that in recently. Anyway I could go on forever. I love your channel 🎉
Appreciate everything you do on the job, hard to find excellent technicians like you. Ive been doing this 20years, it's still great to see how you diagnosis the faults. Always learning 💯💥💯
As a newer tech to the fields, I can say you are the sole reason I’m going to a refrigeration class in September to work on coolers and walk in freezers 👍👍
Wow Jonathan you're making a great decision! I'm honored to be told that! Get as much hands on education as you can get and learn from as many people as you can.
Nice job! It looks like, by the comments, you are speaking to the rookie's and veterans alike. I have been doing a/c and refrigeration for 30 years and I still learn something watching your videos. The biggest thing I have learned is how much I don't miss being in the field! I tip my hat to you and everyone else that runs service calls every day! Thanks for putting in the time effort to make these videos. I know how much more time it requires to put one of these together and get it uploaded. Thanks!
I'm lucky to have switched to a diversified company that I did. I was very bored doing residential HVAC only. That's why I started doing generators in 06. Thanks for the kind words man!
Brother Rick as hot as a summer this year has been, you sir are so right you don’t have much time to work and check every little thing, I’m off to Kentucky for continuing chiller school for the week stay safe and hydrated brother videos are great
I really enjoy the humor. That's the only way to make a long week tolerable. Besides you show some of the crazy stuff found on jobs. Thanks for sharing.
good thing you "warshed" out the condensers. 🤠 not poking fun at you, make same think of Grandma and relatives that had the same twang. lol better to remember them any and all ways vs. forget them!
Home Depot also has Velcro straps with a carbine clip that’s pretty sturdy. I use them for hoses etc strap one on the meter and m12 drill clip on the my belt straps for maintenance and my Klein 1/4 5/16 screwdriver. Knipex pliers. Good video Rick keep up the good work.
Be grateful there work. Not every job will be the way you would like (Less the safety issues). I was at the top of my game but my ego took me rite down to nothing, and it took a handful of years of self examination to see where I have failed and for gratitude and humility to make me whole again.
I understand what you’re saying. Pride always comes before the fall plus that kind of attitude will create more hate than friends, but generally what you’ll see out of me as I am usually upset because of other peoples work ethics, and that is portrayed as complaining about or bragging about certain things. I just try to do the job right every time if possible.
@@HVACRSurvival I actually laughed out loud when I watched it. If that was the plan, than mission accomplished. Looking forward to the next video my friend.
Great video Rick. I think I speak for all when I say we appreciate the hard work of putting out these videos. Your a great tech and I enjoy watching the videos.
This happens a lot with ac. Cleaning the indoor and outdoor coil. All of a sudden suction line freezing up causing low pressure faults. I try explaining that the system has to be clean in order to get a proper diagnosis and may be a callback.
Great job Rick, I know some jobs are lousy, but you got skills, and know what's up, and as long as your pulling money for your time, don't sweat it will pay off eventually, more jobs and bigger payroll.
Those Rheem condensers…ugh. Pita to clean. Especially 5 inches away from an obstruction. I’m not into S&M videos, so I’m going back to my own torture..yardwork
@@HVACRSurvivalI'm glad to see Amazon has those now. I needed one some years ago, and ended up buying it from an RV parts supplier. Bought two just in case, and I was glad I did later. Some faucets aren't threaded, though.
start of video disconnect. at least they removed all the guts of it, to not look like you'll disconnect anything by pulling the plug.. 🤣🤣 that is exactly what I keep warning about and have seen uncountable times!
Something simple like that we do it. Our company has over 100 employees, we have every certification needed to do just about anything under the sun. In the video I just recorded today I'm actually doing work in the electrical panel changing out a breaker and replacing burnt wire.
“Warsh” LOL Are you from Ohio/Pennsylvania? That’s what my mom and aunt say! Do you say ruff for roof? I get made so much fun of for saying those words in Florida lol great video keep up the awesome work 👍
@@HVACRSurvival were you working at a Pizza place downtown that starts with an "R" yesterday?? I don't want to put the name here since I don't know how you are with location. I seen a guy that looked like you when I was driving by
That's one thing I've had to learn over time, doing everything perfectly all the time just isn't realistic. Sometimes you just have to Frankenstein a monster. But you should still use common sense and be as thorough as you can with the time you're given.
I have seen stuff way worse than that on some jobs one time I saw someone ran two wires from the disconnect to make 120 just sticking out through a knockout to hook a cheater cord up to was that really necessary 😂😂
@@HVACRSurvival No worries! Just commented Great Vid as always. Wanted to let you know that I used your TruTech code. Spent around 5k over the last 3 weeks. Hopefully they reward you well!
I know the feeling, last week was horrible. That's why I didn't get a video out until wednesday. Saturday and Sunday I got my butt handed to me at a grocery store.

What kind of alarm do you have on your service van? I listen to that a couple times and I couldn't make out what you were saying
Remote car start, with glass break sensor, motion and it pages to the remote. Comes from the dei family of alarms like viper etc
