The idea of a dark fleetway actually spooks me a little. Dark Sonic in his first appearance was essentially Sonic absorbing negative energy and feeding off his own sorrow. This implies that Sonic is so tormented by Xain, Fleetway is affected. At this point, it feels like Fleetway is now a guardian of Sonic. While his intentions are very warped, he is essentially Sonic's repressed superego and id.
The idea of dark sonic due to warping sonic's morals, and intentions when strong enough to affect fleetway it would cause fleetway to turn good (while still being insane ofc so... imagine jevil but as fleetway.)

Dark Sonic and Fleetway Super Sonic are very similar in which Sonic has to be under the Chaos Emeralds influence and be induced high amounts of stress. Could this actually have a darker meaning to the story in which Sonic was desperate enough to resort to the Chaos Emeralds to try and get Xain out of his body, unintentionally awakening the nightmare that would be Dark Fleetway? I dunno but I'm liking this concept.
Actually I think dark sonic is just a part of sonic. In the anime sonic actually enters a semi dark state before the full dark state. Sonic and fleetway are likely both angry at xenophanes so it makes sense the two states would combine.

Sonic then starts trying to talk fleetway down, but fleetway is tired of the imprisonment, and so traps sonic back into his body and resumes the fight. Edit: it's safe to assume fleetway won, so he probably made good on his promise and actually became the queen of England. No he doesn't trans himself. Nobody think about posting genderbent fleetway. It’s like the false super saiyan transformation. He doesn’t have the power required to turn super, but he’s forcing the transformation through sheer anger/willpower. So he ends up in this false state In the middle.
fleetway doesn't need chaos emeralds to manifest, as he can be normally "accessed" as I will call it, when Sonic is stressed as he has some kind of chaos residue on him. Not sure about the residue part but stress sure. hell, the club fight scene in fleetway comic proves that. But thr theory of yours is really nice.

Yeah, now he has to deal with two of the worst things in his head, One is someone he knows too well, while one is the one that killed everyone he knows and cares about.
Sonic and Fleetway fighting for control, only for Xain to step in and try to take over, however Fleetway takes him on as no one gets to control Sonic but him, all the stress and negativity that Sonic is feeling from all this and likely from Xain himself causes Sonic to turn Dark, thus Dark Fleetway, the two continue battling for control as Sonic is simply a bystander in the warzone that is his own mind, at some point likely giving in to help Fleetway as to Sonic he might be a much better option than this new unknown monster trying to possess him, eventually even calling out for help it seems like, wishing that something or someone would or even could stop the madness raging inside him. After a good battle though, with Sonic's help, Fleetway is able to finally kick out Xain, and him and Sonic than go on into Phantasm, the usual battle for control between the two.
I love the story of Fleetway trying to take back the body against Xain/Xeno because he was there first so hopefully he does take back the body and wins Xain/Xeno. (Probably not gonna happen since Xain/Xeno is too popular to die)

Loved the new chromatics and the melodies were great too! Also appreciated Sonic's inclusion. One thing I did miss here is I was surprised that for such an occasion there was no mid-song dialog of any kind, having one of them speak a line or two helps to ground the song within the story in my eyes, it's always a nice inclusion. But glad musical content is good, and the story is moving!

So, I can assume what's happening here is in this canon in particular, the sonic that has Xain in his head is a version of Fleetway.
And assumably what has happened is he went super dark (I'll just call it that I suppose) and Xain butted in.
Or, alt theory: Because of the title of the song, Sonic finally lost it because of Xain and went all Dark Fleetway on em.
Fun fact: sonic turns into to fleetway from being very stressed. he also turns into dark sonic through lots of anger.

Yeah, now he has to deal with two of the worst things in his head, One is someone he knows too well, while one is the one that killed everyone he knows and cares about.
Sonic and Fleetway fighting for control, only for Xain to step in and try to take over, however Fleetway takes him on as no one gets to control Sonic but him, all the stress and negativity that Sonic is feeling from all this and likely from Xain himself causes Sonic to turn Dark, thus Dark Fleetway, the two continue battling for control as Sonic is simply a bystander in the warzone that is his own mind, at some point likely giving in to help Fleetway as to Sonic he might be a much better option than this new unknown monster trying to possess him, eventually even calling out for help it seems like, wishing that something or someone would or even could stop the madness raging inside him. After a good battle though, with Sonic's help, Fleetway is able to finally kick out Xain, and him and Sonic than go on into Phantasm, the usual battle for control between the two.

His chromatic is similar to OG Fleetway just enough that someone may confuse him, but sounds different enough to tell he's his own charater
The Icon is also amazing, his grin shows that even against a rather powerful being (in terms of the sonic universe), he believes he can win, as Dark Fleetway himself is one of the strongest versions of Sonic comics and otherwise

One thing I did miss here is I was surprised that for such an occasion there was no mid-song dialog of any kind, having one of them speak a line or two helps to ground the song within the story in my eyes, it's always a nice inclusion.
But glad musical content is good, and the story is moving!

I like to imagine this like that one Fleetway vs Sonic.exe sprite battle where fleetway gets knocked out of Sonic's body and is holding back Sonic.exe who is in this sorta non corporeal state where he could possses Sonic's body.
I imagine Dark Fleetway is his true form inside Sonic's mind, embodying the 'negative energy' that seems to be more dominant in the Fleetway Chaos Emeralds than those in the games while normal Fleetway Super is gold due to the positive energy. Maybe if he used just the positive energy like in SA1 regular Fleetway Sonic could become normal Super Sonic.
