Hi Karolyn! First, your videos are amazing! I have learned so much! I love how honest and detailed you are! My question is, do you add Tylose powder to the fondant before you cover it with the board? For previous videos, I know you add it to your fondant as you make it, then add a bit more to pieces before making figures. But I didn’t see you add extra Tylose to this piece you wrapped around the board. Thank you for your time! Brooke
Hey girl, thank you! It all depends on how the fondant feels to me. If it's holding its shape (not tearing apart) and it's not too hard, then I won't add any more. It's hard to explain because I go by the feel of the fondant. With figures, I usually add more because the fondant has to be pretty stiff for me to get clean cuts. I know that's not great advice, but I hope it helps!
It's fondant! I add tylose powder to all of my fondant to help stiffen it up. It doesn't get super hard (unless I add a lot), but I refrigerate all of my cakes and the fondant doesn't get soft! amzn.to/3ddANly
Thank you for this video! I have a few questions for you. Does the fondant end up with condensation after coming out of the fridge or no? Also, could this be done using gum paste?
I love all your videos , do you know a way to clean up a cake board when the cake is painted with golden luster . I need to make one but I’m afraid I’m going to make a mess , they want the board white 😬😫 thanks in advance
I actually used a round tip #12 and piped little balls around there. Then I dipped a paint brush in water and pushed the points (that are formed from lifting the tip) down. I hope that makes sense!
You are such a good teacher! How big should cake boards be?

What size ribbon do you use? I use 1/2 inch for 1/2 inch thick drum. But wondering what you do? Happy new year ❤❤❤
I use 3/8 inch if I use 3 cake circles and 5/8 inch if I use 4 cake circles!

Hi very informative video. Had a question . Is it fondant or gum paste? Asking as i am of the opinion that fondant becomes soft when refrigerated.

You can definitely do it with gumpaste. And here is a video explaining how to refrigerate cakes! th-cam.com/video/vBKi-O7v98w/w-d-xo.html
Very clear instruction. Now, if I could only make and use fondant! 😊
You can do it! It's not difficult to work with, don't be scurrd! LOL

I usually just wet a paper towel and wipe it a few times to clean it! I may have to use 2 or 3 clean, wet towels, but it gets the job done. 😊

How did you get the pearls so uniformed and perfect?

Please post more videos !! l love them so much!!
I definitely am trying to make more. I am getting a new camera soon and will be able to film longer, better quality videos.
Can you show us how to make/apply plaques pls?
What should be the temperature in refrigerator to keep cake for whole night
My fridge has a dial to change the temperature. It's numbered 1-6, with 6 being the coldest. I keep it at 3 1/2 and haven't had any problems.
