      user282727272 wish they would be allowed to build her a bigger tank seeing she can’t be out in the wild it be life threatening seeing the wild southern resident killer whales are in poverty and Lolita is too old to be moved be reckless to move her in the wild. As that be a dangerous experiment and the wild orcas attack her and she be dead. Better if she be moved to port of Nagoya public aquarium or Marineland Ontario with kiska but she doesn’t like change. Much as I wish she’d have orca companionship it may not happen seeing her age and personality but at least the laws can step in and have her and her dolphin companions with a more bigger tank.

      Emily Melody I think she should be put in a sea-pen. But sadly if an animal has been in captivity for too long US law prevents the animal from being taken back to the wild. The next best choice would be SeaWorld Orlando. It's close, has a larger tank, multiple orcas, and world-class care. The Dolphins need to be taken back to SeaWorld as well. (They were formally from SeaWorld)

    Lolita truly is the definition of "nothing left to lose". When Hugo was still alive, they would attack trainers together, and didn't even think that what they were doing was going to harm them in any way, because their situation just couldn't get worse.
    I wish Lolita stopped Hugo from killing himself. To him, it was "an easy way out", but to her? She was left all on her own without him. They were probably going to do that together, but Toki just couldn't find the strength to.
    At least she's finally retired now.

    Lolita's mother is still alive. She speaks the same language as them. There's no reason to think she could not be reunited with her mother and her pod that she was tragically taken from. A sea pen would be a good place to start her at. It's not fair to keep her there or at SW till the day she dies. Give her back to her mother and her pod whom she would have lived her entire life with.

    This makes me sick.. it's hard to watch. It's unbelievable how some people actually ENJOY watching that poor whale, performing the same tricks she has done 3 times a day - everyday for 43 years, alone in a tank (that isn't even as deep as she is long) since she was taken from the open ocean and from her family, at age 6. It's incredible that she's had enough strength and will to survive for this long. I can only hope that one day they'll give her back the freedom they so wrongfully stole. She deserves freedom. She has suffered long enough! To let her die in that tank would be......beyond cruel.

    Lolita is very restricted and lonely there. If she can't be freed she should be sent to a sea pen or, if she can't return to nature at all, she should at least be sent to SeaWorld, where she would have a much greater space and friends of her species.

      @dimitristsekeris1821 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should be aware of it and that whether we are allowed or not to keep an Orca captive depends on how are we gonna take care of it.
      Keep up with my channel. I'll post another pro-SeaWorld video soon. I think it will be a comparison between the conditions of different captive animals. Or alternatively a presentation of the falsehood promotion of killer whales as an anthropomorphic species and lori Marino's role in the promotion of this pseudo-science.

      @dimitristsekeris1821 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Loro Parque isn't really park. I mean it might not be as good as SeaWorld but it is considered to be of high quality among parks.
      Another park that does great job is the Port of Nagoya Aquarium. Which is ironic cause Japan is famous for cetacean hunting.

    Poor Lolita, that tiny tank...please, Miami seaquarium, let her retire already! This is no better than a Ringling circus act. And last I looked they closed down, and other circus stopped using elephants. It isn't the 1970's anymore, we need to stop treating these hyper-intelligent, family-oriented animals like toys. In the wild Lolita would probably be the proud matriarch of her family pod by now. We only look ignorant and disgusting for continuing this. We will look back on this period with disgust at out ignorance and hubris. As for education, we now have high definition video and the internet, it isn't hard to learn about these animals now or see them in detail. And to see them in person you can go on a whale sighting boat trip. We've learned all we can from them in captivity, anything more will be learned by studying wild animals.

    This is what people need to be fighting. Not seaworld. We need to get Lolita out of there so she can be with other orcas. That tank is a fish bowl not a good enclosure for a orca whale. At least seaworld takes amazing care of their whales. No matter how hard these people try they can’t keep her without another killer whale and they can’t keep her in such a tiny tank.
