Love the tin and the fly fishing... Your videos motivated me to give the fly a go and go down that rabbit hole. Always enjoy the content and sharing of your thought processes.
You've done it again matty. Love the insight on your approach in different situations weather it's sight casting or reading the water and setting up a drift, the info is invaluable. And get in my boat you bastard 😂
Nice work, when you’re stripping the fly keep the rod tip close to the water. It will take that droop of the fly line out and you will feel the hit sooner resulting in better hook ups
Would be an absolute dream to catch a mulloway and finger mark in the same day,I’ve tried to chase fingermark just can’t seem to find the ground off Mackay amazing video Matt ❤
you're area is very similar to ours. my tips would be neap tides and inshore deeper rock structure look around the island headlands and ledges and don't be scared to sound around for a few hours.
Outstanding work on the drone (again); casting & landing the Barra in those first 7 mins of the episode mate was all time. When's the next instalment...
Another great video. Love to see you fly fishing.Your film quality is next level. Did you need to take any classes on production/editing or are you self taught? I am wanting to do something similar in my area so any tips you have time for would be great. I would love to see an episode on your tinies electronics and even the Contenders but I am really interested in your bow setup. I have not seen anything like it but I do live in the bush so that might have something to do with it. Even a quick blip in a normal vid would let me know where to go find what you have set up. This might be a bit per-mature but are you interested in any more travel/destination films? I was originally trying to buy a resort in Tonga but it fell thru so I have now found a private motu in the Tuamotu Archipelago that I will be developing into a fly fishing camp/resort and also putting a fly shop in the town across the lagoon, I believe it will be similar to Hello Backing's set up from the little I know of them. I have come to love you and Brooksy's videos and would love to host you two and your families or mates for a trip giving you the opportunity to do something a little different. Both of you are obvious characters and look like you would be a blast to go fishing with. I am not looking for any hard sell type promo video, I just know there is very little film of my area and any exposure is good exposure and I know you guys do top notch stuff. Maybe there is a conversation to be had there if you are interested. I haven't said anything to Brooksy about it yet. My wife and I are finally winding down the sale of everything we own in the US and will be making the final move over there around October so we can finally start the ball rolling on our project. I also have about twenty years experience as a commercial fly tier and I am a signature tier for Umpqua feather merchants. Do you have a PO Box that I could send you a few flies. I have some great patterns for the stuff your doing and would love to see you get a Doggy on a fly. Keep up the great work, Kris from Alaska
Hey Kris. really appreciate the msg and im sure Brooksy and myself would happily get on board with a trip. mathewjscholz@hotmail.com is my email. if you flick me through an email ill happily pass on more details and we can go from there, cheers
Im all self taught aswell. Ive never really asked for help because ive wanted my channel to be genuinely what I want to fish and film in my own way and im very fortunate its worked out for me and people enjoy it and appreciate some of the knowledge that comes from it. That might be an option for you, basically do what suit you and what you enjoy doing and filming and I think people appreciate the unique side of that.
once ive been out in the big boat a few times I way prefer to take the tin out and change it up. the tin is always a challenge so its more rewarding when It all goes to plan
I still run them for inshore jigging( pe2-3), the saltiga is my heavier setup and ive been smoked a few time with those big fingers so I took that setup instead
@@PelagicPursuit89 Wow... 6 meter is very shallow (in comparison when you are jigging). So then I got it right what you said. I just wasn't sure :) Thanks I did not know that. But I am from Germy so we do not have those species here :)
Wouldn’t be much of a video if he didn’t catch any fish - he lets most of his fish go so I’m happy he’s using all the gear. Great footage from the drone!
Now now don’t be like that Gleno this guy is a very very very crafty man would be bloody hectic trying to produce and come up with constant top shelf material as he does keeping his dream alive it’s bloody awesome to watch I must admit I’ve got a man crush on this guy 😂👍🏻
Absolutely love the drone footage. Keep up the great work Matty 🤙🎣
Duude. That was siick. The aerial drone footage of that first Barra from the stick pile was hectic as. Soo good

Hey Matthew thanks for putting in so much effort with the drone it really describes the beautiful scenery thanks Matt❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent video - I can only imagine how difficult it is to fly fish, operate the drone and the electric motor and then land the fish. Great stuff!!!!
Love the fly fishing. Hope to see more of the sighted GT fly fishing in the shallows
When it rains it pours. Loving the stacked vid releases mate!
Epic fly take on the drone!!!

so cool
That opening drone footage was absolute fishing porn Matt. Outstanding, loved the whole lot. 👍🏾👍🏾
Which drone do you use?
Which Saltiga over head is that mate?
Mustve been hard to take the tin out instead of the big boat for once!
once ive been out in the big boat a few times I way prefer to take the tin out and change it up. the tin is always a challenge so its more rewarding when It all goes to plan
@@PelagicPursuit89 yea bloody oath man, much easier on the fuel and washdown etc too
hey matty have you ever considered trying to chase a cale cale trevally they go hard and are hard to catch
im not sure if they get them up here
What’s the drone model?
was the gear you used on the first fingermark
it was a saltiga 15H with a nomad pe2-4 jig and pe4 ammonite braid
@@PelagicPursuit89 ty im looking to buy a rod for fishing out wide
😎🌴🍺
Yes please
3min 40 to 3min 50 in top right of screen 5mtrs in front of ya boat what the bohemeth was that bro?????
Looks like a monster flatty at one point
Shovel nosed shark
it was a massive shovel nose shark. when I was flying the drone around there was 100s of them and even more turtles
What happened to the lexa hds?
I still run them for inshore jigging( pe2-3), the saltiga is my heavier setup and ive been smoked a few time with those big fingers so I took that setup instead
I am not a native speaker. What do you say in the end of this video about survival rate and something with 6 metres?
sorry mate, finger mark and jew fish caught in water deeper than 6m have a 95% death rate when released.

Be nice to have the Drone and livescope and take the guess work out of fishing ( catching now)

Copy mouth breather
Doesn't mean the fish will bite mate...

Billy I should say not Gleno
Fish dont stand a chance... Drone vision, Sidescan, Down scan, Live scope, The art of fishing has changed..
Mate only 10% know how to use it all.
can you teach me to fly fish pease
haha I can barley fly fish my self
Landbased content would be great as most of us don't have a boat nor a yak so irrelevant
