If weight stayed around the same as the DR650 or less it would be nice, love my DR off road but not to thrilled on power and handling when I have to jump on freeway for any length of time though.
It will be much heavier for sure. I have a DR650 too. For an adventure bike the DR650 is a feather-weight. A much better Dakar style fairing would greatly improve long distance road travel.
If they actually bring this into production, I'd strongly consider it but, it's going to be too heavy to be a proper Dual Sport. I think the original DR-800 single flopped because it was too heavy & there's no way this P-Twin will be lighter than the single was. Still it would be a hoot on pavement & adequate on gravel roads/mild jeep trails. I'd also like to see the new 800 P-twin in a light weight retro standard, similar to Yamaha's XSR-700.
May the developers of dualsport/adventure bikes bless all its consumers with larger gasoline tanks

That would make me consider selling my xsr😅 but the xsr is almost 20kg lighter that the gsx-8, so they need to get the weight down to add fun
@@J2I3H Totally agree. I'd rather have a 300lb. bike that makes 50 H.P. than a 500lb. bike that makes 150 H.P..
I'm in!
Bella … come una volta.
Bellissima
One Cylinder, Eight Hundred Cubic, seventy Horsepower, 160 Kilos.
Bella ma un cupolino stile Dakar ci starebbe bene😊
