    Thanks Brian, just received my crash bars, looked at the instructions they provided then scratched my head then found your video which helped me a lot. Thanks

    Great video Brian. My T-Rex FJR engine guards arrived today. I'm a lot more confident of installing them correctly after watching this a few times. I also watched your videos for my T-Rex luggage guards as well. These are so helpful. Thanks again.

    Your vid’s are confidence inspiring.
    We all love to ride., but we are not all wrenchers.
    You show that we don’t have to be mechanics., just competent.
    Thanks!

    Thank you for this. My bars haven't even been delivered yet but I've been looking at the installation instructions. Your video helped clarify some of the steps that were a bit fuzzy to me. I'm sure you've just saved me a lot of time and frustration.

    Brian you’re a genius. This video is so much better than the manufacturer’s! I was hoping I could send you a few bucks to buy you acup of coffee, since you probably saved me $200 or $300 at a dealership for this and the rear guards. Let me know if I can do that.

      I appreciate the offer, but pass it on to someone else. Go by the person behind you in line a coffee

    Thanks for the video. It definitely would have taken a lot longer had it not been available.
    The vendors lacks detail and they definitely don't cover the problems with the installation.
    You did and I appreciate it
    You experienced it during your installation, tightening the nuts to specification. It's a pretty straightforward install if only they had increased the clearance by .5 cm. That little extra would have made this a straightforward install. Nobody should have to modify an allen wrench to use it. We shouldn't have to guess at torque because we can't use a torque wrench to torque it.
    It's disappointing.
    That issue you came across with the removable fairing panel. I had the same problem on the right side. However, because of a weld on the product I did have to modify the fairing so it would go on and off without frustration in the future. That's a quality control issue. I chose to modify the fairing rather than get a grinder out to smooth out an oversized bead.
    They're installed but to be honest if I had to take them off to do any engine work I don't know that I would put them back on.
    In hindsight, I should have just gone with my initial instinct, sliders and a crankcase cover protector.

    Just installed mine. LHS bar is keeping my shifter from moving as it is rubbing on the shift linkage. Guess I'll have to loosen everything up again and see if I can realign the crash bars. Glad I checked!

    Nice videos, thank you for sharing the installs. On the frame sliders can you share some photos regaring how well they clear the oil fill cap and oil filter....would hate to dismount the bars each time an oil change is needed.

      I will try to remember. Unfortunately I have not ridden enough to need an oil change yet

    There is a sequence to tightening the engine mount bolts to make sure the engine is centered and to avoid vibrations.

    I have those OEM frame sliders on my 2014 Fjr, and they are perfect. They protect fairings and mufflers. And they looks great. 😉

    Great video. Installed finger tight and everything went smoothly until I loosened the bolts to apply lock tite. The left side bracket moved forward and it was a bitch to get the holes lined up again. I ended up loosening the SS rear engine bolt and realigned the front brackets. The right side front engine bolt was easy to lock tite and retighten. But the left side was difficult. I was too afraid to remove it for lock tite so I will need to recheck them after a few miles.

    Hello Brian, did you find the 2 bolts that holding the mufflers short or not? I installed mine but I do not like the bolts come too short like 3 mm. Where the bolt ends do not come out on the lock nut like the original bolts they come out a little, pass the lock nuts. It is holding it but I do not like it. I look at hardware stores for the same type of bolts but they do not have it.
    I contacted T-Rex racing, no one answers the phone, sent email no reply yet. It is frustrated.

      I didn't, once I read the instructions to do the proper order, everything fit.

    • @boenq1908
      @boenq1908 ปีที่แล้ว

      @AZLetendre thanks. They are short. So I finally found at another hardware store, and it fits perfectly as I expected. Thanks again.

    Have you ever needed to remove the fairings? It seems to me the engine guards would have to be removed first. Is this correct?

      Thanks. Soon gonna put the trex crash bars on my 2013, I have 65,000 miles on it from new, the video is much appreciated! Hope you can get some riding in! I've bought mine over more than twice, maybe three times with repairs and add-ons and a couple low sides with no bars; riding in winter on wet asphalt sealant not recommended. God bless!

    Hello Brian..
    You have a beatiful bike, and I can understand that you want to protect it. But that doesn't look good. How about Yamaha's OEM frame sliders...

    • @AZLetendre
      @AZLetendre  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the way these look, but you could try the sliders. I guess it's all personal preference. Are you offering to buy me sliders? Ha ha. I'd be happy to do a comparison video.
