Painful one to watch there. Herky jerky opponents like that can throw you out of whack. Def played below your normal level today. Will have those days.
This was a very swingy tournament overall, first time partnering with Mark in a tournament. Mark played really well in the RR games and I thought I was fairly mediocre at best so he was carrying the team a bit for the first part of the day. Then Mark cramped up in the last RR match and I was forced to be a little more active and that caused me to play better. I think our first two playoff matches were my two sharpest matches of the day. Then we get crushed by Ivan Lendl's team in the semi's and then we had to play this match while still digesting the previous loss so we weren't quite as sharp as we needed to be in this bronze match.
@@JackyPlays Yeah I knew something was up with Mark in this one. Just my opinion but Dan seems to be a better combo with you as hes more steady than highlight style. My problem is I'm so out of shape I HAVE to go for the winner or I will get gassed or just not make it to the next shot. I've found partners are very tricky because you both progress at different levels. Also I'm a WAY better rec player than tournament player as I HATE not being able to PACE my serve. As you know momentum is EVERYTHING in racket sports and having to wait for some umpire to slowly and sometimes randomly call out the score just kills me! I see some of yours allow for the players to pace but I've never experienced that.
Ignore my last comment. After going back and watching this tournament Mark is a serious beast! Hard to follow up after that semi final game! You both played not your best game here. But to get 4th out of 24 in a 4.0 tournament! Congrats!
