this is what happens when a country focus on gaining income from development, mainly from property.
inflating economy, by bubble gdp, causing rising prices, while slowing people's earning. and brainwashing people's mind in thinking development = 'technology in IT only'.
on desperate day, people can sleep on the road, can live without electronic devices, but can't live without food. but old politicians didn't envisioned these, and choose shortcut
and thus, lower income Malaysian is born, and miscellaneous jobs have to passed to foreign labor as those can't put food to locals as currency is small and thus more corruption, and people is forced to get married later, and thus lower the workforce even more
I blame it on previous short vision leaders, brainwashed to pursue the contemporary economic model instead of long term economic model

Why should Western companies invest in Malaysia when even their homegrown businesses can be driven out of business over a pair of socks or an instagram post? Many formerly backwater ASEAN countries like Vietnam and the Philippines now offer better opportunities without the risk of increasing religious extremism. Malaysia isn't the only game in ASEAN any longer.

My friend in Germany said malaysia is not so attractive to them to invest their money due to the local politician like to create havoc out of nothing and majority of our people just blindly followed the motion like those boikot this and that campaign even the company run by their own citizens from their own country....they afraid they would be simply boikot as malaysian nowadays are too sensitive.

There are definitely pros and cons. With Western companies pulling out of China, due to stringent laws and the US, they will resort to Malaysia for abundance of labour, moderate regulatory policies, and overall lower costs, due to the weakness of the RM. The problem is that we are not the sole choice, as there is Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand etc. Our strengths lie in the ability to converse in English, somewhat... acceptable.. infrastructure, stability, and openness to business partnerships. Hopefully, Malaysia can reflect confidence and goodwill, while maintaining good relations with other foreign investors, while prioritising Malaysia's best interests. Tesla, Apple, Google and more to come. Let's not waste this opportunity.

Who is your friend that everybody has to take their opinion as relevant?
Your circle of those blabber 'free market' yet actually 'forcing people to only have 1 choice regardless of the company position' is concerning.
Run by their own citizens doesn't mean their business model is from themselves, until they rebranded themselves locally. But where did you mentioned it in your statement? None.
People nowadays exposed and learnt and analyze better, and kena labelled 'too sensitive'.
Sellout, this tactic don't work anymore la. Ya ya you are introvert extrovert, so behave like this this this, that is you. Don't work already. Your expert labeling of people to guilt trip them work no more.

Furthermore, look at Poland which is enjoying richness by now by their cooperation with Germany. now they make 4000-3000 dollars more than us Malaysians compared to us making 300-400 dollars more than them in 1990

Those who condemn politicians by labeling them as corrupted why not become politicians yourself so that corruption among Malaysian politicians can be reduced? Why the same narration over and over again but don't dare to venture into politics? Because you know, when you become a politician you will be ridiculed, insulted and despised even if you do the right thing. What you think is right is wrong to others. That's politic.

    • @adank3610
      @adank3610 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That's their career choice and the package - the benefits, reputation and public opinions that come with it. Their salary, their plans, their entitlements, projects, policies are all paid through our tax payment. They are the only ones who hold the power/authority to discuss/plan/enact the course the country should take. A deep rooted, decades old culture of corruption from bottom rung until the top in every ministry will not be undone in mere years. It became their lifestyle and some, even their livelihood. Even the laws are being abused of its loopholes to free the corrupted ones, as long as they got the money. Any amendment to these 'Ancient' laws too will take a while before it's being reviewed and approved. Still, if we look carefully, efforts are being made, small steps but nonetheless, a start.
Our predicament is further worsen with some of our politicians are relics of days past that cling on their position through any presented opportunity and poor prioritization. Instead of doing their best to contribute to our nation and nurture future generation of politicians properly, they treat their mentees as rivals, nip them from the competition as much as possible, and even manipulate the potential pool as their propaganda tools. Have a look at recent statements by youth leaders over the last 5 years, it really breaks a Malaysian's heart to see their passion being twisted into a mess. Whether or not they deliberately do it out of desperation? Who knows.
So yea, it's politic and it's also a career. They survive through media endorsement and Malaysian's opinions on them. It only becomes ugly once they treat their position as their birth right and abuse it at the expense of Malaysians.

    The Malaysians might be impressed.
Its a huge red flag for the Europeans. Germans are no nonsense people.
Imagine going there to promote bilateral trade and investment with Malaysia and the leader of the delegation goes off topic and changes the subject.
The inability to act professionally is a major red flag for investors and political elites.
Especially when you are there to court the private sector.
The endless virtue signalling and the need to score political brownie points on everything from school canteens to world heritage listing is the mark of a third world shit show.
