It's nice to know that it can reasonably be done without some kind of crazy fab-work or too much of a headache. I just got the gunmetal C-10 so will definitely be doing some good stuff to it before to long. Thanks man.
Did pretty much the same on a WPL C24 with a really cheap 1806 Racestar 2200kv and it is still Powerfull enough for the heavyer WPL. Had to modify the motor pretty much by building a new shaft with reduction from 3mm to 2mm. I have used a powerdrill an a dremel tool to simulate a Lathe. Drilling the pinion leads mostly to an untrue running of the gear, but it seems like you just got it right (no bad sounds from bad pinion mesh). I like that you modify your cars very much since the RC Hobby especially with cars is all about RTR nowadays. But for me tinkering is the real fun. Greetings from Germany

Watch your eyes on the holmes hobbies 050 motors for the enduro, but can fit the scx24 with the mounts, Also test out different brushless esc for the outrunner, Cheapo 30a brushless esc, see how they work, all and all great video as always and nice little rig !
Yeah I keep waiting for it. I seen they posted another one that WASN’T ready yet. Not too worried about it now. This motor is killer and will probably cost less anyway lol. I’m hoping to get a cheapo brushless esc running well with it soon. Merry Christmas!
In my 1st capra, (to my Fms atlas 6x6), I used brushed outrunner rc plane motors. You can get any size with a 1mm to 5mm motor shaft size. Amazon, most are from $10 to $20 max.👍 Merry Christmas sir!

Really nice bro one of the better scx 24s I've seen. I dig the 4-wheel steering and the suspension on it has quite a bit of flex as well that's awesome. Can you do a review on the ebay AE-6 sensored brushless ESC motor combo reverse 3 wire Rx? Full set is motor + ESC + programming card for $123.. I haven't seen anyone review it yet
In my opinion that thing is way too high of a kv motor. They market it for an scx24 but it’s probably not going to do well in one. Maybe for more speed but I would think the torque would reall suffer. I’ll see if they’d be willing to work with me on trying one out though 😉
I hope they will work out a deal. I really want to see what it does. I cannot do much myself at this point. I ordered a c10 on the 11th. It was supposed to be here yesterday (the 15th). All I have right now is new tires for it 😂
I have ran 2 eflight 920 kv motors in my super size moa clod crawler. they have a 3 1/8th shaft to run standard pinions for the 32p. I am not sure if the 380 size revolver is bigger than these or not tho. but they have gobs of torque to turn 8" tires with a 6 tooth pinions. Love trying new motors to see whats what. I usually run the smallest setup for weight savings.

Really appreciate that. This body actually came off a little toy car I picked up at a loves gas station. It came with some metal panels on it so I cut some out of lexan for it. Wal mart had a toy Rc that had a similar body at one time but they are getting a little harder to find now I think.

Nice video and conversion. I have a C10 converted to brushless with the HH380 revolver and a micro sidewinder 2. Love the setup and on 3S it’s a blast. Do you know if there is anyway to turn off the beeping on the esc? The esc beeps if the truck is sitting idle for a while (I believe to let you know it’s still on?!?). I wonder if there’s a way to program that notification beep away using the Tx.

Have you looked at or seen the rocket mini z motors? You can find them from anywhere between $20-$40. I was thinking of grabbing one. But I found out I fried my scx24 esc/reciever not my motor. But check them out on amazon.
@@2fmrc if you need the link let me know. Ill send it your way. I'm not a 100% keen on brushless kv I always forget whether higher or lower kv# is higher or lower torque. But ive seen them range between 3500 and 11000.
I would get more pinion gears like what you have on the revolver and drill one out to 3mm and use that over plastic. I can't imagine something with that power not destroying a plastic gear under a lot of stress
I’m not 100% sure what I used on mine. I looked over at my little magnetic tray and seen a couple screws that looked like they may work and they did! I’ll try to see if I can figure out what is actually needed.

It’s a small little Rc from wal mart. The orange caged rig came from a website called shapeways. They 3d print lots of stuff and have several cages to choose from. Hope this helps!
do you know any stronger motor? i have a furitek komodo with a 20 tooth pinion on 2s. works great on my 2ws rig, but coggs alot on my 4ws. dont want to change to 15tooth and change to 3s. big strong brushed 35t or something?? remember my 35t 450 motor on scx10, that was torq for 3 rigs and speed
Yeah I’m just running the barrage in my C10. Maybe I’ll go brushless eventually. Now that I’ve found a little cheaper option. Just gotta find that budget esc now.
I don’t think you would have to if I remember correctly. I did mine because at first I used it with the barrage motor so I had to switch it to brushed mode. I did change a few minor settings while doing that but nothing that I think would have to be done honestly. I used the castle link for my pc.

Yeah I’ve been running a few stock trucks on it lately and it’s crazy how much more challenging it is with them than these modded rigs 😂. Hopefully I’ll be building a new course soon!
No booty too wide.... LOL The worst part about the brushless is that electrical wine. I have heard there are some motors or escs that cut that down tremendously. heard of 3 bros racing? I see they have a hornet outrunner in 540 size that are supposed to be quiet tek, but think they have a smaller motor coming out soon.
The only ones I know of are some on eBay like kyx and some other knockoff brands. I heard a few people say they weren’t very smooth and they had to go back stock. I’ve been running brushless setups in my scx24s for a good year now and haven’t had a single gear stripped so I just run the plastic ones.
@@2fmrc and those are the internal gears and not just the spur and pinion gears? Cuz u can get a metal spur and pinions but then the weak spot if the internal plastic gears inside the sxc24 transmission

So I just got the shapeways 380 revolver motor mount and I have the 1400 KV motor what did you use for hardware to mount the motor

Those are the rc4wd rage beadlocks. Kinetic-Kms makes a set very similar that I have as well.

The only ones I know of are some on eBay like kyx and some other knockoff brands. I heard a few people say they weren’t very smooth and they had to go back stock. I’ve been running brushless setups in my scx24s for a good year now and haven’t had a single gear stripped so I just run the plastic ones.
@@2fmrc and those are the internal gears and not just the spur and pinion gears? Cuz u can get a metal spur and pinions but then the weak spot if the internal plastic gears inside the sxc24 transmission
