These bags are adorable! I will definitely be ordering 1 (or more) along with the corresponding patterns. I have never used the sewing method, so thank you for the demonstration.
Thank you for the visual on the sewing method, that really helps for sure. The bags are adorable, I'm definitely interested in doing one...now to decide on which one!!! :)
Thank you for showing the sewing method! I actually have the two lavender bags. The small one with the lamb pattern and the larger one with a sheep pattern. Thank you again!!
Oh my gosh! These are so adorable! I often thought the pouches would look wonderful if they were stitched. I had no idea that Shepherds Bush made patterns for them. Thank you for sharing this. 💗
Love these bags and patterns. Thanks for the tutorial. Sewing method is so much easier than what I was thinking I would have to do. . Can’t wait to start mine now.
The sewing method is how I taught myself to cross stitch back in 1973. To me this is so much easier, and it uses less floss. Lots of times, when I can (like using the same color for for a project - grass / sky / whatever, I go all the way across with the 1st part of the cross, then come back as I cross the stitches. I hope I described that well enough. Than you for showing these bags. I have several and have only partially stitched one 🙄🤦♀️🤣
I love the Sew Emma bags and Shepherd’s Bush designs for both sizes of bags! I’ve purchased all large & small bags, patterns, buttons and a zipper pull for each! Now to find the time to work on them!! I love your videos and love 123Stitch!
Love these bags! I have stitched several. I have not had any problems with them catching on things inside the bag or out, even when sliding them into a bigger bag. I either use the sewing method or turn the bag and pattern upside down and just use stab and poke. Just fold them to find the center like a piece of fabric and go. Also, you can crinkle it up in your hand to stitch or start and stop the thread and they smooth right out. Just using one thicker thread is so relaxing and rarely knots! Great to stitch in the car as well with the big holes. I can’t recommend them enough! I was so thrilled to see the Let Us Give Thanks banner behind you! I just hung mine up for November. I made one for every month back in the early nineties and still hang them up every month.
Yes, you can totally scrunch of the bags when stitching and they pop right back into place. I'm glad you love stitching on them as much as I do! As for Let Us Give Thanks, isn't it the best? I hang mine every year as well and wish I had others in the series!
Thank you for showing the sewing method! I've been stitching for decades but I've ever only used the poke method. I've been hearing about the sewing method but I've never seen it. I'm now interested in trying it.
Thanks for showing us the plaid bags and mainly how to stitch them. I've wondered. Sounds simple enough but I'm an aida stitcher. It might take a few times for me since I don't do n that over two stitch. Gotta try.
I’ve been wanting to do one of those bags but thought they’d be too hard. I also didn’t know they had so many different patterns. After this video and seeing the sewing method I think I’ll be doing several bags. Thank you
These are all so fun looking!!! Thanks for showing us these! I love the sewing method...it's my go-to when I'm stitching in hand! (when I'm using my floor stand, I use the 2 handed method)
I love them. I got the darker pink one last year as a gift exchange. Shepard’s Bush is one of my favorite designers. I like the Stitch pattern but would need to make some changes so it would look good on the darker pink. I think that is what keeping me from doing it. Nice video.
Love these.... can you use regular floss for these bags...if so how many strands? i have all/most of the colors in hand dyed and DMC and don't want to start over buying Size 5 pearl cotton :) Appreciate the input in advance..
I have not been successful in doing the loop method with one thread so I just hold it on the backside and make sure it catches under several threads. I haven't had a problem with anything coming loose. If anyone else has a suggestion, I would love to hear it!
I love these bags but I’ve held off because of the back of the stitch. Does it get caught on things in the bag or do you line it with anything? Thks for your help. 😊
I have been looking for the pattern for the banner you have hanging on the wall called “let us give thanks”. Do you have that pattern available for sale?
They are Flossie Claus and Needle Nick by Lizzie Kate. You can find them on our website here: www.123stitch.com/item/Lizzie-Kate-Flossie-Claus-with-Embellishments-Cross-Stitch-Pattern/LK-26K www.123stitch.com/item/Lizzie-Kate-Needle-Nick-with-Embellishments-Cross-Stitch-Pattern/LK-21K
I think there are probably a lot of ways to do it, but to keep it simple, I just did it the normal way. I did a few regular stitches, holding my thread on the inside until it caught, and then started the sewing method. To end the thread, I did a regular stitch, pulling through to the backside but leaving a little loop. I run my needle through the hoop (on the backside) and then through 4 or 5 finished stitches.
I’ve been wanting to stitch one of these so I decided now is the time and I chose the Olive with the “Stitch” pattern. Looking forward to stitching this bag. I may be setting myself up to having to stitch more of them. Yikes!

It's really easy. Give it a try!

I have everything for the Quilt ba. I just figured to work upside down. I'm going to try the sewing method. Thanks

It's nice and big so super easy to see the holes. I think it's a good project to try "over two!"
I can see where this will be my next project. Thank you for showing the sewing method.
You are so welcome!
So cute! What a nice way to personalize them!
Love these bags the are beautiful
I’ve been wanting to do one of those bags but thought they’d be too hard. I also didn’t know they had so many different patterns. After this video and seeing the sewing method I think I’ll be doing several bags. Thank you
That held me back at first too, but I was pleasantly surprised at how fast and easy they were to do. Enjoy!
So cute! That sewing method was wonderful
Sew cute! Thanks!
You’re welcome 😊
just recently got one of these bags havent put any design on it yet thanks for the video
Your welcome! The bags are so nice even without stitching!
These are all so fun looking!!! Thanks for showing us these! I love the sewing method...it's my go-to when I'm stitching in hand! (when I'm using my floor stand, I use the 2 handed method)
I can't believe how fast you can stitch with the sewing method. I'm going to have to try it more often!
I love them. I got the darker pink one last year as a gift exchange. Shepard’s Bush is one of my favorite designers. I like the Stitch pattern but would need to make some changes so it would look good on the darker pink. I think that is what keeping me from doing it. Nice video.
There aren't that many colors in the design so I think you could easily change it out. I'd love to see if when you're done!
Beautiful ❤
Great video! I am off to buy bags and patterns right now! Thank you!
Thanks! Happy stitching!!
Oh I want to do this! How cute!
Loved your video!! It was really interesting! Thanks for the amazing tutorial at the end! Would love to see more tutorials ❤
Thank you!
The bags are so cute. I am going to order them and start stitching. Thank you.
Have fun!
Cute. I might have to get one and stitch it.
What a fun project! Would be great to put a name or initial on them first a non- stitcher. Thanks for the tutorial! 😊
That's a great idea!
Cute! 10 seconds in cute!
These are great. They sure beat gallon size ziplock bags.
Another great video ! I am going to try the sewing method , it would make it a lot easier to stitch on your bag. Thanks for sharing !
Thank you! It's really easy and makes stitching on the bags so much fun. Let me know how it works out!
I've made 1 and have 3 more. I turned the bag and pattern upside down and used the stick and stab.
so cool!
❤❤❤
Love these.... can you use regular floss for these bags...if so how many strands? i have all/most of the colors in hand dyed and DMC and don't want to start over buying Size 5 pearl cotton :) Appreciate the input in advance..
Yes, you can! I would use 4 or 5 strands of regular floss instead of #5 Pearl Cotton.
I have the bag and am ready to go but how do you start and end your thread?
I have not been successful in doing the loop method with one thread so I just hold it on the backside and make sure it catches under several threads. I haven't had a problem with anything coming loose. If anyone else has a suggestion, I would love to hear it!
I love these bags but I’ve held off because of the back of the stitch. Does it get caught on things in the bag or do you line it with anything? Thks for your help. 😊
I don't line it at all. What I usually do is just keep the pattern on the stitched side in my bag and nothing gets caught!
@ Great thanks for the info. Have a great weekend. 🧵❤️🧵
@@MargaretNaabDesigns You too!
These bags are beautiful. I just have a question: what size needle do you use to stitch #5 pearl cotton? Thanks.
I used a size 22 tapestry needle.
I have been looking for the pattern for the banner you have hanging on the wall called “let us give thanks”. Do you have that pattern available for sale?
I'm sorry, I do not. I can tell you that I dated it when I stitched it and it says 1993 - yikes!
What needle do you use? I struggle threading with the pearl cotton.
I found that a size 20 Tapestry needle worked best for me.
I am not seeing the Stitch pattern??
Here it is - www.123stitch.com/item/Shepherds-Bush-Stitch-Cross-Stitch-Pattern/21-2162
Please. What are the Mr and Mrs Santa Claus stitching stand ups to the left of the screen, your right? Thank you.

@ Thank you. 😊
Those are Lizzy Kate designs.
How do you end a color? I didnt see that in the video. Also,, how do you start? where does the tail end piece go?
I think there are probably a lot of ways to do it, but to keep it simple, I just did it the normal way. I did a few regular stitches, holding my thread on the inside until it caught, and then started the sewing method. To end the thread, I did a regular stitch, pulling through to the backside but leaving a little loop. I run my needle through the hoop (on the backside) and then through 4 or 5 finished stitches.

Wonderful! I think your are going to love it. That was my first choice too!
