You got that right people freezing is because they go spend all that money on a boat 300$+ on rod and the same on a reel but will not spend the money on the right clothes to be able to get out and hunt&fish at the prime time of the year. I am born and raised over here on north and south pass and 42 winters on in 3 camps the one I was born in and 2 me and my dad built ourselves. An butterflying all winter and commercial fishing for catfish and specks back in the 80’s and catfish steal to today. And the wind is southeast Louisiana is cold and the wind cuts to the bonegt
It's a 7-foot rod in medium power. It's all just a matter of personal preference. I know a lot of anglers who use shorter rods for jigging, but I'm big on casting distance, which you get from a longer rod, and I also like to take up a lot of line quickly on a hookset.
you know it seems to me that everyone including yourself says that it’s hard to find that perfect flat fish now well maybe it’s time for you all to change your slot let me explain I no longer keep redfish 16 to 20 inches that is the slot that everybody complains is missing, so change your fishing habit I now keep only redfish 20 to 24 inches. That’s not excessively big if we as fisherman don’t do something about it Louisiana department of wildlife and fisheries will except they’ll just take it from us completely or worse they’ll make us go by a permit to catch a redfish not catch multiple redfish, a permit per redfish and I don’t know about any of y’all but I really don’t want that and as much as I keep saying it’s time to change the limits because the limits have been that sets for so long. Well then why don’t they change the laws and start using some current maps when they wanna block off the marsh from public access because they decide to take public marsh land and sell leases to people which then makes public land private just my thoughts look like you had a pretty good day out there. Hope they’ll in Shell Beach always produce just hate the extra hour drive time one-way
Worse thing ever never give up anything we catch plenty of fish in all sizes and you clearly have not put much thought and no research into such a absurd claim that’s the problem with the people now days thinking they know how to solve a problem by telling us what’s best because they went fishing one time and caught a fish that one time so that means they should screw with size & numbers !! When they take it it’s gone and you never get it back
Yes, I agree, let the big ones swim again. No need to keep more than you can eat. Fresh not frozen is the best.
Your videos helped me as an out of towner, love the marsh.

Nothing like hearing the drag scream when a big red makes a run. Awesome video Todd nice reds and specks
Yeah, I agree. I used to take these fish for granted. I no longer do. I've really grown to appreciate their incredible power and determination.
Great video. Love the action. Thanks man. Loved it.
Cool! Them fish sure are biting good this year! That saltwater is doing wonders!
Thanks
Thanks for the intel. You inspired me to go tomorrow morning. I will be taking my Marsh Romance!
Where can I find the trout on the north shore right now??
We gotta go soon!
Man, fishing over thanksgiving, I caught a couple so small like that, their spots were still coming in. Good to see, but CRAZY to catch.
Great video
Unbelievable action
Thanks for high quality presentation
man i love specks! they been loaded here in VA
That was a good one Larry Flint. Bahahahahaha
🤣
Man that's strange you're not catching big reds in Hopedale. All I seem to find is 26" plus for the last three or so months.
I should've watched longer, yep, that's how all of my trips have been. 26-30 or bigger.
Todd, that’s a 7ft 11 rod? I’ve been told to get a 6ft for jigging. Help me out here. Thanks

So you use braid on your bait casters?? If so what size and color is best.. Love your videos as usual!
For this style of fishing, I use 30-pound braid main line with 12- to 20-pound fluoro leader.
