And I'm also a chikankari lover and buyer and did my own researches before buying...Anyway, the concept of chikankari was a purely handmade embroidery which considering all aspects, constitute quite a fair price and is on the expensive side due to variety of fabrics which change the price and also due to manual labour involved. At times 3 to 4 months are required to complete one intricately done piece . Pure Georgette kurtas are as expensive as 8k, 9k and more . Nowadays the machine made works are extensively put to use, which has a much much lower price , ranging from Rs 250 and below Rs 1000 which catches the maximum attention of the buyers. Naturally the grace factor is not present in them. The Problem comes when sellers sell machine made stuff as hand embroidered stuff and take twice/thrice the money . So my request to a chikankari buyer , please do your research and proceed. Machine made or hand made, choice is yours 😊. Rest things aside , keep rocking!
