Thank you for this list! Not sure I really managed to take it all in, but Mothers and Sons stood out to me. Sadly it's not out in the UK until February (although, I definitely have enough on my tbr to last me 😂)
I just pre-ordered The Land in Winter! Can't wait. I have Mammoth on my nightstand, but haven't started it. I loved Boulder so much, i am savoring the anticipation. Love your videos!
Nesting by Roisín O'Donnell sounds really interesting, glad to see a novel addressing the atrocious housing crisis in Ireland. It's bad everywhere but at least compared to other European countries, Ireland really stands out and child homelessness is a real issue.
A reminder that I will never come close to reading every book I want to. This list doesn't even cover the genre stuff! That's fine, it frees me from feeling like I'm missing out, so I can just read what I want--and if there's an author or a book I choose not to read, there's a thousand wonderful books to choose instead.
Hi, thank you! It was a very interesting list. I am looking forward to getting my hands on some of those titles. Please, check pronunciation of the authors' names. Quite a few of them were mispronounced.
I know, I do actually check the names before I film, but there's just too many and I forget. Is there anybody particularly I got wrong that you want to point out?
@@GunpowderFictionPlot Sigge Eklund, definitely. You pronounced it Siege Eckland. Made me giggle, so there's that. 😆 (Siggey Éklund would be more like it)
@@GunpowderFictionPlot sorry, I was not ignoring you, just have not had a chance to get on TH-cam. I need to have another watch to pick up the names, but definitely Olga Tokarczuk.
@@GunpowderFictionPlot Here we go: Olga Tokarczuk, Alia Trabucco Zerán - first name Alia, Liliana Corobca, Sigge Eklund, Amira Ghenim (first name), Betty Shamieh, Ann-Helén Laestadius (missed surname), Junko Takase, Saou Ichikawa - I think this is about it :)
Hi Scott what a video. Thanks a lot. Like Mother Like Mother and the Eliza Clarke are intriguing. These will have to wait until the new year, I’m on a book buying ban at the momentxx
Everything about that Bernard Schlink book screams my name. I read The Reader by the same author many, many years ago, just after I returned home from Poland. He’s a good writer. Alas, it’s not out until January here.
Not sure what you're referring to, so I can't clarify what I said, but of course I've heard of those things. I haven't read much about the Soviet Union, so I might have meant it's a new POV to read from? But it's a big video and I made it a while ago, so I don't remember every comment I made, sorry.
ELIZA CLARK HAS A NEW BOOK OUT THIS YEAR?! Why did I not know about this?! You are life saver genuinely
I love these videos you make - thank you for the time and the work you put into making us aware of some pretty great-sounding books!

I’m genuinely impressed by the quality of your TH-cam content! The topics you cover are so important, and your presentation is very professional.
Thank you so much
Yessssssssss on these upcoming releases videos and a long enough one for my daily walk 📖🪱💚
“Shut up and take my money!” 😂😂 🫶🏻

I'm very curious on that one
I’ll read anything by Olga Tokarczuk. (Toe CAR Chuck) (approximately)
Thanks! I like Winton, but no more Murata for me. Earthlings was repulsive. Flesh sounds interesting.
🫣🫣🫣Oh My!!!
Eimer is pronounced E-Mir. I DNFd A Girl is A Formed Thing.
Thank you, that is a name I was very unfamiliar with.
all those books and you've never heard of soviet deportations and genocides????
