Hey - did you replace the float and did it help? Mine does NOT have water in it, but polaris is still floating a lot and never has all 3 wheels on the ground.
They are great with just a bit of maintenance. Thank you for watching and commenting. We appreciate you watching our video. Please subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already. Please check out our Amazon Influencer page for many items we use and recommend. www.amazon.com/shop/diyadventure
Love your videos. Without you, I could not have replaced several things on the polaris. I'm still wondering what to do though. I've replaced the hose clamp, head float, pressure relief valve, ball bearings, and tires, and now it's moving-slowly-and looking top heavy...if that makes sense. All tires won't stay on the pool bottom, and the tail sweep keep shooting water up out of the pool. Help please! I'm really struggling for weeks now.
You’ve probably already checked the float. Make sure it has no water inside it. May even need to replace it. Also check the floats and their placement on the feeder hose. They can slide on the hose. Had a kid one time move them and caused what you described. Also make sure filter is clean and water level in pool is correct. Do you have a restrictor plate at the wall connection? This would be red or blue depending on the desired pressure. If the booster pump is old, it may be putting out lower pressure. Many things can cause this, so keep adjusting… If the tail is squirting water out of the pool, you may need to adjust the small allen head set screw on the side of where the tail hose attaches. We recently had one doing exactly what yours is, and I just finished putting on a complete rebuild kit. The unit now runs like new and it’s 20+ years old. Essentially all components that can be changed are included in the kit. It was $119 on Amazon and took about an hour to install. Kit even includes interior drive shaft, gears, etc. Hope this helps! We appreciate you watching and your comments. BTW - New Polaris cleaner runs around $700. 😎⭐️

SO, that slight rattling sound it made when you shook it is normal. (love your videos, but it would have been hepful to know which way to position it, slightly closer or slightly further away, if there is no water in it and the polaris is still floating)
Any ideas on why a polaris 380 runs nose down & back wheel doesn't touch the floor of pool. I've tried every nozzle setting & also adjustment of the float, ect.
I have the exact same cleaner. Any idea why it is just sitting still with the back of it floating about 1 1/2 inches off the pool floor ? The tail is spraying and it is suctioning but it just won’t move. I’m so mad at it 😠
Sounds like you may have some other issues with the unit. Maybe the gears on the wheels are worn down or other internal issues. We have several other videos on this unit that might be helpful. Also make sure your booster pump is working correctly. It may be coming on and moving some water, but not enough to move the unit. Hope this helps. Appreciate you watching and commenting. 🤠
My hubby got mad about vacumme hanging up where it connects to pool and beat it pretty good. Pool float is broke off now plus one wheel. I put it back in pool and it will vacuum . Can I replace what he has broke off?
Not real familiar with this, but I see a lot of comments online about this issue being the thrust jet adjustment. Thank you for watching and commenting. We appreciate you watching our video. Very helpful video. My 280 has been leaning over too much and float is probably worn out over 12 years. Thanks
Glad we could help. Thanks

Also. Are the floats on hose supposed to be a certain distance apart
Absolutely you can. Check Amazon or local pool supply for those parts. Amazon usually less expensive.
Depending on length of hose, most are around 3’ - 4’ apart. We adjust them as needed.

What causes the back wheel on the three wheel side to float?
You might want to check the float and/or adjust it. This can cause them to not sit properly.

Even though the pipe is threaded, the float is not. They just push on and pull off. It’s worth checking often.
