We asked for the front row and you get moved to a separate queuing area, have to wait longer but it was worth it. Been on it quite a few times while here as queue times are only 25mins for standby. Thank you so much for the support 👍👍
Hopefully, something is done, but I think it's due to difficulty removing the yeti animatronic and the cost to do so which is the biggest factor. It is one of the popular rides in Animal Kingdom so they don't want lengthy downtime on this.. Maybe once Dinoland is rethemed and they have some new attractions we might see some movement on this.
I don't think it's any scarier being at the front, the train goes backwards for part of the ride. It is worth riding the front and back as it is a different experience 🤗
According to a quick internet search, some people are saying it will be removed and fixed others saying it cant be removed! The rumours range from it is too difficult and/or too expensive to fix! Although in a 2023 article, MouseTrapNews stated that Disney will remove the Yeti in the next Expedition Everest refurbishment and it will be replaced with a screen which sounds possible

Maybe someday they'll use a projection screen for the Yeti in the next refurb.
