That wing looks like a nice board, but im using an X32 full board, all my band use P16-M's for iem & my 2 guitar players & bass player use helix floors, so no amps or floor monitors, the only thing that is heard is my drum set, but im in the process of getting a Roland TD-KV2 which is a high end electric drum set, this video will help in when i finally get it, thanks for the vid & keep them coming 😊
Thanks for this tutorial. I am a drummer, and I needed this info. I know a lot about mixing, but I didn't know how to make the drums really pop out and have a lot of oomph. This video gave me a lot of info I had been looking for.
What we do with our electric drums is use a software plugin(SSD 5) instead of going through the drum unit. but still at the end of the day it will still be 2 output going in to the mixer.
Thanks Drew, I use a VAD-507 with Superior Drummer, I route them through 6 audio channels though my PlayAudio1U. So I have Kick, Snare, Hi-Hats, Rack Tom, Floor Tom, and Overheads.
I was hoping to see you add some ambience to the snare and try to salvage it with effects from the board. You made a much better tone with what you had though. Still extremely dry
Pro tip: Next time you will do comparing videos you can patch same tracks into spare channels and just mute/umute whole group which including channels with processing and not..
The best way to get electronic drums to sound better is to NOT use them. You can get good results with enough money but we all know that a church is gonna get the cheapest crap they can find.
if you have bad drummers, better keep them on electronic... In my case i did that just to control him (and yea...got an stereo output drum set). But agree, no matter what plugin we use, will never sound as acoustic.

Although if you live where I do, the kits that separate into individual channel start at $12,000! Most kits are L and R out!
How do we connect the electronic drum module to my board. I have a wing as well.
Thanks for the class!
Thanks drew, always hitting the point for us.thanks again😉
Hi Drew please can you do a video about using gain staging with pink noise and audio coming from a daw in sources and busses on the Behringer Wing.

so does that mean you can't manually adjust each part of the drum from the mixer?
would a snare verb and a parallel compressor on the shells been useful in this situation?
Very good video. Can you do a video using a mono out for drums? If you can do it on x32 would be a great example for me.
This please @DrewBrashler
what about compressor detector Peak and RMS switch for drum sound?
How do you split the e drum into individual output channels in your mixer?
You have to have the sends from your drum set controller. You can't split them externally
Please do tutorials on the digico s31 or s21 if possible
Good work. Kindly confirm if you are ever goin to move to Allen&Heath SQ7 etc

And is the gains supposed to effect iem
