I went with a 17 year old to Afghanistan. He came home safe and took his life at 23. I served beside a muslim who fought for his beloved United States and the gifts it gave his family who fled their homeland in the early 80's. My brothers of all walks of life serving this great and wonderful nation. We are not as divided as the media makes it seem. We came back to our country, who treated us like shit .For those of us who made it back to the USA, we were hated for doing a war job we were forced to do

Sadly, one of my veterans from Nam told me that I was the first one that had ever done anything for them in recognition. What an absolute shame! I lost my uncle as a result of that hell hole. I’ve often wondered what life would have been like with him, as I was a child when he died. So, without apology, I thank every one of you who served. Most of this current generation do not understand that freedom is not free!
That is an ordeal no veteran should have to endure when they come back from war, whether citizens agreed with the war or not!!! I mean honestly!!! Anyway, thank you for your service and personal sacrifice in a war like that.
