  • The World Premiere of ‘Pah-Lak’, a production by the Dharamshala-based Tibet Theatre in collaboration with the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), was shown on Saturday in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala. The play revolves around the central character, Deshar, a young nun who self-immolates to protest the injustices committed by the Chinese government. The play also attempts to depict nuanced characters of Tibetan and Chinese lives in occupied Tibet.
It is a new production of the play written by Abhishek Majumdar, co-directed by Lhakpa Tsering and Harry Fuhrmann with a cast of all-Tibetan actors for the first time. We talked with the creators and lead actor Kalsang Dolma about the journey and their tour in India and Europe next year.
    Reporter/Producer: Choekyi Lhamo
    Camera/Editing: Tenzin Leckphel
