He didn't build the village other than the stone walls. He was just explaining how the village naturally generated on a biome border, which is pretty uncommon. It's a really large village too. The pillager outpost being so close is really rare too.
Toycat actually has much more interesting videos where he actually experiments with real players. Vastly more entertaining and even mildly informative. This one was more of a comedy.

When bxtoycat referred to a seed, he was talking about the world seed which spawns the world in. The seed he was using was what spawned a world with a village with that specific layout and he just modified it after that.

The thing about the houses being built in the colonial village is in regards to the weird way that buildings sometime spawn when the world is being generated. You will see houses half merged into hillsides, hanging over ravines, etc.

Comment about utilitarianism and cannibalism is that one of the ways utilitarianism is taught is to bring up the case of "the queen vs dudley and stephens" where the two men were pardoned for murder based on a utilitarian argument (way oversimplified description here). I believe the person eaten was the cabin boy who had already passed out but was not dead from exposure and dehydration. if they knew that rescue was only a day away the boy may well have survived, but the ethical dilemma was that they had no idea about that and what they knew was that they were starving and needed some sustenance to survive until help came. the utilitarian argument was that the boy's death would ensure the survival of the other two until rescue so thus it was the greatest "good" (ethical good) to act on even if it was unlawful and by other ethical systems an act of evil. that at least is what I remember from my ethics class all those years ago. I could be wrong, it's all hazy now.

Actually what he was saying is that in 1.14 Minecraft villages have different homes and clothes depending on where their homes spawn. If you have a village spawn in three biomes like here you'd have 3 different types of villages and the equivalent of three different architectural styles. Also, the tower was introduced in 1.14 as the home and spawning point of the "evil" villager called pillagers.

The value of money is reduced and therefore prices increase* *They don't increase equally fast, first monetary actives such as other currencies, then wholesale prices, then retailer prices and usually salaries raise up at last place (This explain why if there is a sudden raise in inflation, poverty goes up) What's hyperinflation? This is one of the worst things an economy can experience because it's not defined by a number (Argentina's hyperinflation was ~4000% in a year, while Zimbabwe's was ~98% a day), it's when the prices are raising so much and so fast that the whole economy is put to a sudden halt because the pillars of the economy (Investor, producer, consumer and people saving money) lose the reference of prices, better said in an example: I can't do / buy / invest in X because I don't know it's value relative to Z. It literally destroys the price = information system and comes with mayor economic problems Why did Zimbabwe got such high inflation? When bxtoycat referred to a seed, he was talking about the world seed which spawns the world in. The seed he was using was what spawned a world with a village with that specific layout and he just modified it after that.

About fascism and "mussolini makes the trains run on time", the supposed efficiency of fascism and its superiority to democratic bureaucracy was mostly propaganda with almost no basis in fact. Mussolini did indeed make the trains run on time, by gutting pretty much every other government department and using the military as labourers in order to make the trains run on time for a few months. This stunning non-achievement was then held up for years (decades actually, we're still doing it) as justification for fascist regimes. In the video, "the village looks bad and all the villagers are doing really bad" doesn't have any hidden meaning, it's very literal. Fascism sucks.

The thing about the houses being built in the colonial village is in regards to the weird way that buildings sometime spawn when the world is being generated. You will see houses half merged into hillsides, hanging over ravines, etc.

Hey @Mr. Terry History he did do an experiment on being supreme leader like in North Korea and other social experiments. They are really interesting as they kinda reflect what happens in life. Like putting 100 people on a server with no rules and see how people act to each other... my 2 cents.

2:43 - Toycat was going for 'No social security, no public services'. To be fair, there's a lot of socialism vs democracy vs communism banter on his channel.
Comment about utilitarianism and cannibalism is that one of the ways utilitarianism is taught is to bring up the case of "the queen vs dudley and stephens" where the two men were pardoned for murder based on a utilitarian argument (way oversimplified description here). I believe the person eaten was the cabin boy who had already passed out but was not dead from exposure and dehydration. if they knew that rescue was only a day away the boy may well have survived, but the ethical dilemma was that they had no idea about that and what they knew was that they were starving and needed some sustenance to survive until help came. the utilitarian argument was that the boy's death would ensure the survival of the other two until rescue so thus it was the greatest "good" (ethical good) to act on even if it was unlawful and by other ethical systems an act of evil. that at least is what I remember from my ethics class all those years ago. I could be wrong, it's all hazy now.

He didn't create the village, it was randomly spawned. He was describing how well that random village suited the purposes of the video. As for Utilitarianism, he wasn't referring to a specific instance of cannibalism but rather the tendency of Utilitarians toward a hyper-rationalism that fails to take human frailties such as emotion into account.
Hehe, it would indeed be awesome to demonstrate something like roman society with minecraft villagers. But I think this is way beyond the scope of what the (vanilla) game can provide... There's some huge modding potential, though.
Idk, some of the stuff you can do with command blocks. But there's already a lot of useful mods to automate villager behavior, increase personal defense, etc.

@@Mercure250 the difference between the nazis and the nazis when it comes to terrorizing people, political dissidents, basically anyone other than the staus quo was similar. In Germany there were concentration camps, in Soviet land, there were gulags (also concentration camps). People were mass murdered by their beliefs, political ideologies, socio economic status, etc... (nazis also killed by ethnicity, but that's really the biggest difference between the two regimes, one was openly racist, the other was secretly racist, because let's face it, communists at the time also shared some values of anti semitism with the nazis, because of the banking system, bourgeoise, etc...)
So yeah, Stalin and Hitler first became allies (before the treason) mostly because of shared values against what was traditional western culture and liberal values.

Communism doesn't actually care about its citizens at all. It says does, but it'll let everyone that show individuality die. Citizens are considered as tools for the state. With broken tools being discarded.
Anyone aware of how communism actually works given the choice between the two systems would choose to live under a monarchy in a heartbeat.

Actually what he was saying is that in 1.14 Minecraft villages have different homes and clothes depending on where their homes spawn. If you have a village spawn in three biomes like here you'd have 3 different types of villages and the equivalent of three different architectural styles. Also, the tower was introduced in 1.14 as the home and spawning point of the "evil" villager called pillagers.

The hyperinflation in Zimbabwe was one of the worst that the world ever saw but first!
Inflation is a monetary phenomenon (It comes from the existence of money itself) caused by it's demand and supply
Demand = How much people want the currency
Supply = The amount of the currency in circulation
When you get inflation? When one of this things happen:
1-Oversupply = The Govt / Central Bank printed more money than people wanted
2-Low demand = For one reason or other, people don't want the currency
3-Both, which is the most dangerous type because things can turn ugly really fast
And what is the result of inflation? The value of money is reduced and therefore prices increase*
*They don't increase equally fast, first monetary actives such as other currencies, then wholesale prices, then retailer prices and usually salaries raise up at last place (This explain why if there is a sudden raise in inflation, poverty goes up)
What's hyperinflation? This is one of the worst things an economy can experience because it's not defined by a number (Argentina's hyperinflation was ~4000% in a year, while Zimbabwe's was ~98% a day), it's when the prices are raising so much and so fast that the whole economy is put to a sudden halt because the pillars of the economy (Investor, producer, consumer and people saving money) lose the reference of prices, better said in an example: I can't do / buy / invest in X because I don't know it's value relative to Z. It literally destroys the price = information system and comes with mayor economic problems
Why did Zimbabwe got such high inflation?
In a nutshell, because this comment it's already so long (Sorry for that), it's that:
-The Govt did bad decisions that lowered their revenue from taxes (Like the reforms to the farms)
-To cover this and to pay Debt (Fiscal hole) they decided to print money... Way too much money (That's where those hilarious banknotes come from)
-The monetary base multiplied several times in a short period and well, we all know what happen (~98% inflation per day)
-This is usually one of the cases of why Govt overprint money, to cover their fiscal holes (Spending more that what they get), debt or both... Just that in this case... It was way more extreme
