I believe in this case is for the low income or disability people, please correct me if I'm wrong. My opinion, renting is limiting of what you can do. So, I rather to own the house, I agree that the owners have to do a lot of works and more responsibility, but you have the freedom and you can do what ever you want in that house. In addition, when you paid off the mortgage and also the time for your retirement, then you only pay for the proper tax. The house is yours, you can sell to live in Cambodia or keep it for your kids.
