I boycott the Peppermill because of the one in Reno. Made a reservation, tried to check in. They said they didn't have it. No offer to check me in and sort it out later, just 'sorry sir, you have no room'. So I drove back to the Bay area. Got almost home and they called me and said 'we found your reservation'. Talked to the head guy, Chris Joy I think, he assured me his staff offered me a room. If they did, I wouldn't have driven home. I would have been in the room. Total jerk who lied to protect his staff and in essence accused me of lying about not being offered a room.

I work in gaming and was sort of gauging how they would respond. Basic incompetence at the counter is one thing, having the head guy lie to you to defend his incompetent staff while simultaneously insinuating that you are lying is another.
