- This is Cyprus! Without a doubt the sunniest and most tropical destination in Europe. Did you know that from Cyprus it's only 200 km to Lebanon and 400 km to Egypt? It's warm all year round, so you can also have a beach holiday in Cyprus in the winter time. The northern part is Turkish speaking and the southern part is Greek. We fly to the Greek part of Cyprus from The Netherlands in four hours and spend ten days on the South Coast. In Paphos we experience the history between ancient ruins, tombs of former kings, castles and much more. We drive a rental car all over the coast to see the bluest bays and most beautiful beaches. Traditional culture can be found in the mountain villages, where we taste the local wine. This video shows you the best sights in all of Cyprus, so hop on board for a great adventure!
Our trip to the Cyprus is the first time we are back in Europe after 1,5 years of traveling all over the world. Before this you saw the big journey through Africa. It was the end of a trip that started on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. After that we visited Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, Zanzibar & Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mauritius, Réunion and Paris. We plan to continue traveling and there will be a lot of new videos coming soon. First up will be the Caribbean! Hi there! Your video about Cyprus was really good and as a Cypriot I appreciate the fact that you have not chosen an all inclusive hotel staying all day by the pool and literally see nothing of what Cyprus history and culture has to offer. However, I would like to clarify some references to Greek and Turkish parts or even British/ also a reference to three countries. I know that a lot of people find the situation in Cyprus difficult to understand so I will try not to be too judgmental of people that come from other countries of the EU that Cyprus has joined exactly 20 years ago but don't know how to describe the situation in the country without get involved in a political analysis.
Cyprus is one country and has been independent since 1960 (used to be a British colony). In the island the two largest communities are Greek and Turkish Cypriots (smaller communities are Maronites, Armenians and Latins). There was an invasion by Turkey in 1974 and the occupation is considered illegal under international law. The "TRNC" which is the name given by Turkey to the area that is occupied and it was unilaterally declared independent in 1983 is recognised only by Turkey.
Of course there is a lot of history and this is just a very quick summary of what happened in Cyprus in the 20th century. I just wanted to make this clarification because it makes me feel sad to see other Europeans believe that when they come to Cyprus they are coming to a place with a Greek and Turkish state, this is not the case. Cyprus was never part of the Greek or Turkish state.

I'v been here in 1987 I walk from light house to the castle there were absolutely nothing tell the castle there only were tavern some cofee shop but to spend night in that tavern in front of the castle is big pleaser

They named some random rock as Aphrodite and selling as holiday destination. For me it is just weather and the beach and blue waters. 😂
You could say this about every religion.. in this case it’s a myth. It’s what the people used to believe and they thought that swimming around this rock would bring fertility. It is certainly a way older myth than when tourism ever came to Cyprus 😅👍🏻 it’s of course the other way around. People first came to Paphos because of the Greek sights.. tourism is built around that, true 😏

Not Europe, technically Cyprus is part of Western Asia.
WHO CAN SAY THIS FOR SURE? It is in the middle of three continents. ASIA, EUROPE, AFRICA.. Geographically it MAY be in Asia, but culturally it is absolutely in EUROPE.
I knew Greek guy Sempson. He was arrested for life imprisonment long ago, pardoned by British after 20 years. Don't know why Greek was kicked out of turkey. Greek later became friend with pakistan.
