I am a lefty and play almost exclusively with rightys. That means that about half the time, we are both playing our forehands and then we are both play our backhands. I have strong volley skills, and when I play with fellow 4.0 + players, this is usually not an issue, but it seems to be during 3.0+ social round robins where we play with random players at different skill levels. When we are both backhands, at times I see shots not covered, and I am starting to cover more to win points. Suggestions, on how to play these and keep the peace?
You should definitely learn how to stack, and pretty much always play with any right handed partner like that. You can look up what stacking is, but basically you should always play the right
I had the same thought, Angela. If the shot is coming at him from the person in front of him is he going to cover his sideline AND middle...I vote for the 'X'.
Something I noticed Gabriel Tardio do is create really dead dinks to invite his opponents to attack him, and used his fast defensive hands as an offense.
I’ve been struggling with a disk issue in my lower back ever since my last tourney. (It originally stems from tennis) It’s made it tough for me to train. Trying to rehab, but for some reason this injury has been on and off about a year now.

What are your thoughts on the respect the x strategy for covering middle?

Forehand covers the middle? Respect the X especially for us not so fast seniors.
