A little insight, I spent many years with Dom and family. He was in a vicious cycle. The alcohol would make him think about the past but he was heavily addicted to the booze so it was inevitable. . He could function all day at a “job” he had while we were in Florida. He would come home and Me, Him and Dom Jr would head to the handball court. He would proceed to whip both asses (I won maybe 3 times out of a thousand matches) for a few hours until dark and maybe another friend Brian too. Old ass man whipping 20 year olds in 100 degree Florida sun.. After that we would go back to the Apartment and clean up and get dinner going. The drinking would start and the deeper he would get the more the guilt would creep in. Finally at 2-3am he would pass out. He would wake up at 6 and go workout and then repeat the process. When he wasn’t drunk and was doing some activity with the kids and me he was a funny happy guy. Well at least compared to these videos of him drunk. These things he’s saying to Ross he said to me and even his kids 30 years ago. I hate seeing him like this again.

Didn’t Ross and Dominick come together to film a documentary on Dominick’s life? He has to talk about the past. That’s where the action was, his entire identity. I’m not a psychologist, however, to me he came to Earth a kind, sensitive, good man who was strong armed into a criminal life. The man he looked up to, his uncle, was himself a
murderous criminal who is introduced him to “the life”. He wasn’t cut out for it.

All the footage we have , good and bad was Dominick’s choice to do and wanted it put out for the world to see . This is the real Dominick and it’s not always pleasant. As he would say , it’s all shits and giggles . Thanks again for the support .

    Ross:
I preferred the original name for this project:
    "My Hitman Roommate"
Got my attention to the channel in the first place.
Its catchy, kind of funny, and makes you want to learn more.
    I was like:
    WTF?
This cat lived with a hitman?
If you make a theatrical film of this, would be a great title.
I loved your idea, heard you mention it in an interview, of framing the movie around Dom
gazing into panels in one of his paintings and visiting segments of his life.
    You left out one thing:
Ross Brodar should be a character in the film.
Because you're not just Dom's biographer
-you were an integral part of Dom's artisic endeavors in the latter part of his life.
I think you rescued him to a point, cleaned him up, inspired him, and were a bit of therapy.
    In other words
    -a friend.
There is something undeniably poignant about
an aging hitman and younger regular dude becoming bros.
Not only should your character appear
-but there could be unique voiceover narration, like in Goodfellas
-except in this movie it would be a dialogue
between Dom and you while events are unfolding, just like in the videos.
    One final thought:
    Do not approach Hollywood.
They will fuck it up, ignore the facts, create fictitious characters,
    add politically correct talking points.
This needs to be done partly as docudrama,
with accurate reenactments more than melodrama.
A 2-hour film would not do this justice.
I think there is enough material here, focusing on different eras,
for a 2 or 3 part miniseries, running 4-6 hours.
Era 1: Childhood to The Four Directions
    Era 2: Vietnam and Berkley
Era 3: The Demeo Crew/Hole In The Wall Gang
    Era 4: Los Angeles
Era 5: Turning states evidence and Witness Protection
    Era 6: Hardship and Art
Those eras are significant beyond Dom,
because they reflect the changes in culture and mores thru 8 decades.
    This isn't brain surgery.
    This movie is already written
-cause it happened, and your sit downs with Dom are the script.
I hope you approach independent filmmakers and financiers
who understand and have a feeling for this story.
Based on the outstanding work you did on Lynchpin,
you and Billy should at the very least be co-directors/consultants,
overseeing the authenticity of every aspect.
And there is no way this could play in theaters these days.
    Only Marvel Universe gets releases.
Belongs on a streaming service, where it will find its target audience.
    They're out there.
    Think Breaking Bad.

    • @therealdominickmontiglio
      @therealdominickmontiglio  ปีที่แล้ว

I don’t know who you are but man you get it !! All of it !! Billy and I have talked about this exact idea for a while . But as Lou reed said “ between thought and expression lies a life time “.. It’s getting it to the right people that is such a challenge. I always hoped someone would see the whole picture here and you have . Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas . We appreciate it more than you know ! The hitman Roomate idea was Billy’s and I like it slot as well . We are just trying to diversify the thumb nails to get more hits and subscribers. All the best man !!

    • @wheelinthesky300
      @wheelinthesky300 ปีที่แล้ว

@@therealdominickmontiglio Ross, I think you already found "the right people".
      Its you and Billy.
Because you don't just know the story, you lived part of it and immersed yourselves in the rest.
      You need some money people.
They don't have to be movie people.
      Just people with money.
I think you guys ought to write a script, at least the outline of a script and maybe storyboards,
so you have something to shop, along with the videos and Lynchpin as prototypes.
You don't just have a story (or stories)
-you got a central character in Dom oozing with charisma, and that's just for starters.
You got Nino and the looney tunes Demeo Crew as supporting cast, as well as Frank Pergola, Henry Ruffles, and Richie Emelo, who are memorable in their own right.
Mix in Penthouse Pets, Nicky Barnes and Gene Green, The Quaalude Queen, the comrades in Nam,
      and yourself
-there are so many personalities flowing thru this.
For viewers of the channel, every tale Dom told is riveting, we see them as movies in our heads
-you could practically make dedicated individual flicks.
      String them together
      -its an epic miniseries.
From what I saw in Lynchpin
-you already got the atmosphere and flow down to a "T".
      The pieces are there
-and the tri-state area is full of rich people who want to be movie producers.
You can't walk down the streets of Manhattan, or drive thru Long Island, Westchester, Rockland County,
Connecticut and New Jersey without bumping into one of them.
You need to lay down one rule
-you and Billy are in CREATIVE CONTROL.
      Period.
      That is non-negotiable.
Whoever puts up backing is buying a share in the profits.
      That's all they're buying.
I recommend you put together a corporation, like a lot of, for example, real estate guys do.
They conceive a building project or want to buy an existing one
-then spread the risk to a lot of investors,
but also have unlimited choices of partners.
All you need is a commitment from
      someone with dough
-and you'll get more like falling dominoes.
Start with the world you know
      -the art world.
      Who buys art?
      Rich people.
Get the word out, press the flesh, take meetings, its a hustle, but you got a sure fire product.
Heck, throw a party like Dom did in his gallery show
      and schmooze, baby.
How about researching the names and numbers of investors in Broadway plays and Independent films shot around New York?
Bet they would go in on this one.
Make sure you get an attorney lined up
before anybody sings anything with anyone.
This project is as good as any out there.
Somebody is going to make it.
You and Billy are the only ones who will maintain its integrity.

Wow. I can only imagine how mentally & emotionally tortured Dom was. I can see how sad he is here. Everyone has their past with varying degrees of complexity, of course. I don't necessarily think he was living in the past though. What I do think is that for the first major chunk of his life, he didn't have the opportunity or luxury of being able to process all these events as they were happening & had to just keep it moving. But, he also lived hard & fast in between which also didn't lend to healing or processing. In these videos with Ross, since there was trust there & wanted to tell his story anyway, I believe that this was his way of reevaluating his life & choices by actually verbalizing as much as he could. He was realizing over time & later in his life that the decisions & actions he took in the past (whether necessary or unnecessary), must've had way more impact & affected way more people than he may have ever initially anticipated. Then on top of that, dealing with the aftermath of having to face himself for those decisions & actions whether it's guilt, shame, sadness, anger, etc. Not easy to just let go & process all that especially if you do have a conscience, which he did. One can advise another all they want, but ultimately it's up to that other person on how they want to handle their experiences. Everyone has their own individual method & timeline. I applaud Dom for being self aware, questioning things & at least making an effort to get a handle on it when so many other people don't even have the balls to. That's an insane amount of work which requires an insane amount of effort. I'm pretty sure I would be fucking exhausted & on tons of substances too if I had to deal with all those thoughts & issues on a daily basis. I'm sure Dom had several people throughout his life that genuinely looked out for him including Ross, but we also know that there were plenty that were not out for his best interest. It's very sad that he's gone, but I'm hoping he's finally at peace & shakin' his ass to Tower Of Power somewhere.
