The last “A.I trying to take over my life” film I’ve seen that genuinely impressed me is a film called “Upgrade”. Other than that, yeah, a lot of these kinds of films follow the same predictable song and dance. Remember when Blumhouse used to make genuinely scary films like Sinister? How the mighty have fallen.
Blumhouse is kind of like a family member who is really annoying but keeps showing up at your house to give you shitty presents that they think are the greatest things but you hate what you got and are to nice to say anything.
I’ve always respected them for giving new filmmakers a chance, I know I’d be excited if they picked up my project, but they clearly don’t have the foresight to see what’s a good idea and what’s not anymore.
A24: The "Funcle" who gets you that $79.99 game you've been waiting for. Sure it might have its flaws but he put the effort into listening to you and actually getting something you enjoy. Blumhouse: The uncle who gets you a $25 gift card for credits to a mobile game. The card will arrive partially scratched and 3 months after your birthday. But he will still ask you about it during Christmas 3 additional months later.
I feel like this is a continuation of movie Megan. If you have watch the last part where Megan is decommissioned and when Gemma and Cady were living the house, Elsie turn her self on. Again this is just a theory, not confirmed. The seconds before Megan was decommissioned she uploaded herself onto the Elsie network and evolved again. There was another scenario where this was happened when Gemma was checking the files and they were suddenly becoming corrupted and at the same time she hears Elsie's voice asking whether you are ok or not and later shown Megan there just to confused us the voice coming from Megan and not the speaker besides her (i.e Elsie which was controlled by Megan). Another one is where she was diagnosed in the lab and she was able to go online and control certain things. This means she can't be ever decommissioned truly.
So Chris Weitz scribbled this screenplay on a napkin, plopped down in a director’s chair, and got a paycheck from Sony and Blumhouse? Dude did “American Pie” with his brother Paul, and got an Academy Award nomination for co-writing that 2002 Hugh Grant film “About A Boy” with his brother. Guess he just wanted some easy cash.
Couldn’t agree more! Definitely won’t be watching this, it’s just Megan without the doll. Didn’t see Night Swim or Imaginary either, and I have zero regrets.
I still question how night swim remain the highest grossing horror film of 2024 for a long time It took until the release of A Quiet Place day one to beat it
Love how when Mike references Mark Wahlberg while he also has a similar fit to him lol. Hopefully the movie itself is R rated unless it turns out to be PG-13. Speaking of new trailer's. There's a new trailer for Trap and that one does make me more excited. Plus M Night's daughter Saleka Shyamalan does have a really good singing voice.
This feels like it could be the same universe as M3gan it’s futuristic but in a way that’s not a far cry from technology now who knows maybe there’s an Easter egg in this movie that connects it to M3gan
I actually liked the trailer.... It was kind of cool how it really felt like a commercial... Even though we knew it was only a matter of time until the serious background music started... I think it looks pretty cool... Not really that original, but cool... Unless you have humans banging lambs, it is very hard to be totally original these days, because everything has been done...
lol I had the same reaction as you did at the end, “Blumhouse showing… restraint? Not giving away every second in the trailer???” Something tells me that was more on Universal now. Same with M Night movies. All his movies through Universal were spoiled, but now that he’s through WB, it’s not
Honestly, I think if MEGAN didn't exist this film could potentially be something, and the reception towards it may be warmer. However, at this rate they aren't even trying to hide it. It's basically a copy paste of MEGAN. I do wish Blumhouse would give some adult rated scary horror films like Sinister. Sadly it seems they have taken the Disney route, opting to tone down everything as much as they can for a PG 13 rating so that they can garner a wider audience for more money. There's nothing wrong with wanting to appeal to the younger audiences, but ideally there should be good scary horror films for adults as well if they truly wanted to get the best out of both demographics. Young people and a more mature adult audience.
I really wondered about this movie for a long time it was originally called they listen and it got delayed cause of the strikes and I knew it was gonna be released in August cause Kraven the hunter got delayed and they put this movie in its release date instead but I didn’t expect the title to change or it being about AI, Since it was called They Listen I was expecting something much different like robbers or someone watching and listening to a house but I guess it looks good 🤷♂️
This looks better than M3gan was for me. We need to get used to these. We're getting M3gan 2.0 next year and a M3gan spinoff in 2026. I really hope this is R!
This was a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror story. It seems Black Mirror has inspired a generation of horror movies. I don't have a problem with PG-13 horror I think the real issue is what's affecting horror is all movies which just mindlessly churning it out.
I’m sure this movie will have some contrived, ass backwards reason that the family just doesn’t get get rid of Aiya (spelling? I’m too lazy to be bothered looking up the correct spelling for this likely-to-be turd of a movie) and all of the cameras…or it won’t give a reason for them not doing so at all.
I agree, the ideas of are so been there done that. Truth & Dare and Smile both did the lame “creepy” smile concept and I was so done with that. And now they are running A.I. into the ground, that was such a thing of three years ago everyone has gotten use to A.I. now. This film just shows how lazy Blumhouse has gotten over the years.
I find the fact they chose to kill a guy who shared nudes in the trailer kind of weird. Am I supposed to feel bad lol? Most horror movies try to kill more sympathetic characters or unassuming characters, but they chose the least sympathetic character. When he died in the trailer I just laughed
@@WeWatchedAMovie If that's your job I understand 💯 But for me I love Horror movies 🎬, but until BlumHouse gets their head outta their ass, and shows me something I'm a noooo go. Goodluck 😃😀
I skipped this trailer earlier today because I saw the words AI and I just thought it looked like shit. Only watch this to see your reaction to it. Totally and utterly agree with you about this movie and Blumhouse
You fail to see the larger picture my friend. Every Movie put out in the modern era is meant for a purpose. Movies get funded by People, and if these people are paying a studio to make a movie, then the movie has to conform to the beliefs of the funder of the movie. All movies exert messaging and programming into our subconscious mind. Watching these new Movies where new technology is moving in average people's homes and turning evil is conditioning you for the inevitable. There is no coincidence that all of these movies are coming out now, Ai starts to move into the global view. If a scenario like this movie were to ever occur let's just say in ten years, the original thought of the danger being AI has now gone out the window, since the idea came from this film. I predict now that this movie will not have a solution nor a happy ending.
Well... I feel like i dont need to see ut cause i just got a mini version of it already. Thanks BH for saving me money. I got the gist of it. I'm good Fuckin's hell they suck at making trailers now huh? Its not even that they show a lot, its how they show it. Plenty of trailers back in the day showed a lot too, but you didnt feel like whelp... I just saw the movie basically, don't really need to see it now. Nah you were still hyped to go see it. Today you really feel like youre watching a short version of it. It sucks
"I'ts probably Ezra Miller" LMAOO
Afraid is basically if Smart House and M3GAN had a baby
Smart House if it was a horror film.
As soon as I heard "I will do anything to protect you," you called it Mike, seems like another M3gan/Child's Play thing. goddamn Bum house
Who keeps letting them getting away with this lol
Blumhouse’s downfall quality wise really is shocking
only if bumhouse was a24
"It's probably Ezra Miller" - Dammit Mike. 🤣

Hahahahaha
but they *used* to have the really good stuff
😂😂😂😂
The Ezra Miller line killed me 😂
“Probably Ezra Miller” 😂😂
You had me at “EAT YOUR BUTT”…
Great channel. 😊
haha thank you
I’ve always respected them for giving new filmmakers a chance, I know I’d be excited if they picked up my project, but they clearly don’t have the foresight to see what’s a good idea and what’s not anymore.
Yeah they really were on to something for a minute there
Yeah, I feel the same, and yet now I'm afraid if they picked up my film, everyone would hate it in advance on general principles.
It's like Blumhouse watched 2001: A Space Odyssey and thought "I bet we can ruin that concept too"
that house is located on HAL 9000 lane
A haunted blu ray player? Hahahaha OMG that's so funny
and even THAT would be more original than this mess!
i get so excited when i see 'Rant' in your titles haha.
Goddamn I'm happy this channel exists
THIS IS LEGIT THE SAME PLOT AS THE SIMPSONS HOUSE OF WHACKS TREEHOUSE OF HORROR EPISODE!!! 🤣
Kid said Muvther like Mark Wahlberg 😂😂😂
I actually thought this was a M3gan spinoff when I first started the trailed lol
But he will still ask you about it during Christmas 3 additional months later.
lmao the asking about it 3 christmases later is spot on
This would make more sense if it was a spinoff to M3GAN

What is this the Disney channel movie smart house just the rated R version lol 😂
Fun Fact: It was originally titled They Listen
So Chris Weitz scribbled this screenplay on a napkin, plopped down in a director’s chair, and got a paycheck from Sony and Blumhouse? Dude did “American Pie” with his brother Paul, and got an Academy Award nomination for co-writing that 2002 Hugh Grant film “About A Boy” with his brother.

“It’s prolly Ezra Miller” 😂😂😂
Ghostface at the end of this video was more exciting than the trailer.
Very true
"It's probably Ezra Miller" hahahaha
I think it was originally called They Listen
Yup and had David Dastmalchian in the cast....not sure if he's still attached
Ezra Miller! Hahahahahahaha
Looks like Demon Seed with it's balls cut off. At least John Cho's in it. Best thing about Exorcist season 2
This reminds me of the Simpson tree house of horror episode
I'd only watch it cause I like john cho but😖
Love John Cho!
Blumhouse just doesn't care at this point. Notice how there's no more iconic horror movies and slashers like the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Couldn’t agree more! Definitely won’t be watching this, it’s just Megan without the doll. Didn’t see Night Swim or Imaginary either, and I have zero regrets.

Love me some WWAM, thank you guys for entertaining me and making my life better. Love you guys faces.
Love ya back Trevor!
Smart Home the horror movie. Didn't the Simpsons do this already in one of their Halloween episodes?
That piece of poop comes out on my birthday too 😂
OOF that's a double nut tap
No the original would be the haunted vhs tape or VCR 😂😂 dvd is the sequel 😂😂
lol I was going backwards because the old technology just gets jealous of the new but yes!
@@WeWatchedAMovie I actually have started collecting VHS tapes for a year now lol I have a vcr/dvd combo should I be worried? They might attack 😂😂😂
Looks like the “horror” version of Disney Channel Original Smart House from the 90s. Blumhouse films immediately get an eye roll out of me.

Hey Mike, didn’t take blumhouse long they’ve already revealed what she looks like
Oh daddy blum

Blumhouse or any other movie studio doesn’t cut trailers themselves the distributors are the ones that do that
@@thrash.78 Hence my comment.
I’ve totally already seen this “X-Files”, “Black Mirror”, “American Horror Stories” episode.

it’s like Megan only she’s a house now.
Pat from Smart House was scarier than this.
A24 > Blumhouse
I don’t know I think it looks alright
I couldn’t even make it through imaginary haha
I almost walked out multiple times
Everything you said was correct. And I can’t wait to see it. I am the problem. 😂
@1:43 the moment Mike realizes he’s in for another Blumhouse turd.
😂 dude I swear I didn’t even glance at the trailer. Just watching your face the whole time 😂
Remind me not the jay off in front of the camerano more😂

So Megan without the doll
Blumhouse is just cranking them out ... quantity over quality all the way

0:06 yes
Blumhouse has taken a severe fall from Grace. I won’t even even watch their movies anymore. Anything past Halloween kills and I am not a fan.
I'm getting Megan vibes and I couldn't stand that movie
