  • Hello and thank you for watching our latest video. Today I will be concentrating on my son's VW scirocco 1.4 tsi. After months of many problems hopefully I have finally got to the bottom of them.
The main problem was turbo boost pressure dangerously high and oil pressure warning light.
Take care Jeff and Jenny xx

I swear all these engines have the same problems! Currently experiencing every problem you are, no doubt something else new will pop up 😢

Hi Lee, I think the trouble is there are so many sensors that something will always upset it. Apart from replacing his gearbox over Christmas last year, touch wood my son hasn't had any sensor problems since.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Alan, he definitely bought a lemon. He bought with his heart and not by his head.
What with replacing the gearbox as well, it's been a bit of a pain. Luckily at the moment it's running as normal, who knows about tomorrow.
      Take care, Jeff

They don't really past 4000rpm.in park. To do with pollution control. But on the road it will go past that mark.

Hi Lloyd, yes someone told me that after I made the video. Touch wood it's been fine, apart from when my son decided to take his girlfriend through the floods a few weeks ago.
      Take care, Jeff

Whenever you don’t get a boost go to the map sensors… if you don’t go pass 4000rpm, change you regulator flap…it’s purpose is the interchange the supercharger and the turbocharger which takes over around 3.5 or 4000rpm from the supercharger

Hi. that's great and thank you for the information. It was running fine until he drove through a flood a couple of weeks ago.
When I get chance, I will need another look at it.

Thats had some dodgy repairs in the past jeff ,just a thought maybe you may have to clear the fault and restart the car .best of luck with it jeff

Thanks Martin, he bought a bit of a lemon. He bought with his heart not his head. Touch wood for the last week there hasn't been any faults and he said it's driving well. Someone mentioned that the engine won't rev about 4000 when it's stationery. I learn something every day.
      Take care, Jeff

It will never revv past 4k when stationary, that is a factory 2 step that is fitted, best way to see is have a drive, then while coasting, put the car in neutral and revv it up, then only it will go past 4k. Audi has this aswell.

Hi Damien, thank you for that information. Funnily enough someone mentioned that a couple of days ago. That system makes sense. It's been running fine since, apart from when my son decided to drive through a flood a few weeks ago to see what it was like. It threw up loads of faults, but seems OK at the moment.

You usually have to delete the fault codes with a diagnostic reader. A low battery can also lead to random fault codes. Best of luck!

Hello again, luckily since sorting those problems and getting him a new battery, touch wood everything has been fine. He's done a few long drives down to the coast with no problems.
I did learn later that the engine won't run above 4k revs if it's stationery.
      Thanks again, Jeff
