And why is it from a company in the U.S.? Did Trump not stop by in Ghana to basically bribe the government to let U.S. use Ghana top priority locations for establishment of American military bases? What soy cameras are in those drones? Why do the drones have to come from America? You can buy them for cheap online from other countries. Heck, kids are playing with drones all over the world. Drones are nothing special.. what why is it from an American company?. Be suspicious. Wake up, Africa! The foolishness is too much. Wake Up!!!

Despite all my previous criticism of the program, I can't help but appreciate my own Ghanaian young men and women handling this technology. Surely, they will learn something out of this and learn to dream big. For the money, we there they build this hi-tech operation or not, politicians will still chop some, so let's allow them to bring in the innovation to open the eyes of the future generation.

I in person appreciates the good works of the president of Ghana.I will share the views that the government should invest on scientific and invention sector, Health and agriculture for future sustainability. In precise, young educated and devoted Africans as a fact, should be send out of the countries to study in these domains and returned to share their learned ideas to develop our continent Africa.More so,let African leaders practice the law of "Youths of today are leaders of tomorrow" because this is where we have failed greatly.

It will become a blame game when eventually the next government is unable to keep it running just because the one who put it in place did not spend more time on sustainability. This is not only for this project or this government. It concerns all administrations that do not factor sustainability and infrastructure as priorities. A government isn't a business. Revenues and expenditure of governments are not like businesses, so before putting anything to work we must take a lot of things in considerations for sustainable development.

Zipline is private company in the USA. This idea wasn't conceived by a university in the USA so what is your point? Someone sat down and came up with this business idea and he went further to make it a reality.
Everything you blame it on Knust as if the other universities around the world produce something apart from research papers and graduates
You should blame it on Ghanaians inability to innovate
We have so many problems in this country that can be solved and whoever will find the solution to that problem will become rich but we won't do it
All we do is wait for someone to develop something outside and then we will quickly adopt it to out situation
That is why we are consumers and not producers
The culture of developing ideas into products does not live with us, it lives some where else.

If the people have the experience it will be easy and it will take a short time

The drone delivers either the needed blood or medicine to the assigned medical facility or hospital in a form of a small parachute at a designated open space within the hospital for hospital staff pick up. After delivery from the sky, the drone goes back to its original destination.

      I see.
      You could be right.
Do let us know where you feel the world's largest is?
So there are currently only two medical drone deliveries on the planet using this type of fix-wing drones tech - one is in Rwanda and the other one is in Ghana both contracted to Zipline. Ghana's one is the largest because it now covers most of the country of 30million people with three centres in the country (in the northern regions, middle/Kumasi area and southern/eastern/volta/central region coming on stream later this year).
I'd be happy to learn of any others you know of on the planet that cover a larger land size/area and demography.

    • @odenehoababioalima9836
      @odenehoababioalima9836 5 ปีที่แล้ว

How long is it going to last?
Who is going to service the machines and where from the parts?
Are they not going to steal the parts to private drone owners and create artificial shortage because of poor salaries and wages?
Note! Any healthcare centre with no laboratory, there is no blood bank. How can they cross check the patient blood with the fly in blood?
Can the drone carry a patient to another health centre?
I think Ghana needs drones to carry emergency patient to well equipped healthcare centre than sending blood to a centre with no laboratory to cross check the blood.
Very soon the drone centres will be complaining about "bad weather" Oh! Master, the weather is very bad so there is no Data to fly the drone. Unless we get Nc200 to buy Data from MTN nearby mat we cannot fly the drone. Mark it! Within two years all these will be history.
Comparing yourselves to another country, you should check other areas like electricity, workers wages, corruption level, healthcare facilities level, sincerity level.
Well the workers at the launching site above are too slow and full of bluff and swollen headed. They should be smarter. They should remember that they are ambulance crew or working at Accident & Emergency (A & E) ward.

@@odenehoababioalima9836 you seems to have forgotten about something here.. This isn't a governmental company but rather a multi national company known as zipline in silicon Valley in California and the government of Ghana is in collaboration with them in construction of that facility to help ease the decongestional process of distributing medicines and vaccines to rural areas so all these problems are of non existence to begin with, in fact the only problem is whether the government can continue in this partnership in paying the company for it services. Ohhh and Ghana isn't the only country that zipline provides services but they also have in Rwanda and many other countries around the world but only that they have strong interest in Ghana's investments and it's bigger than that of Rwanda
