About JamesandKarla:
Hey everyone! We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City.
In our videos we will showcase portraits of storefronts and shop owners in New York City & beyond and capture moments of city life that capture the spirit, energy and cultural diversity of individual neighborhoods. We also bring our dog, Hudson along whenever we can.
We made it our mission to thoroughly document unique 'mom-and-pop' stores when we began to notice the alarming rate at which they were disappearing. Our critically acclaimed books include “STORE FRONT: The Disappearing Face of New York”, “New York Nights”, “STORE FRONT II- A History Preserved” and “Broken Windows-Graffiti NYC”.

That is a perfect location not even the TV cameras could capture that you get to see all of the places where they shot the fireworks off instead of just one or two

@@thomasmartin6907 Why didn't you explain why Canada cancelled the fireworks? It was due to 100's of bones of Ind8an children's graves secret unmarked graves! These were Native children who were taken from their parents & placed in Canadian Residental Schools. This means that the Gov't committed GENOCIDE!!! All because, these kids were beaten for speaking their language! Their hair had to be cut short! Survivors have been telling the sexual abuse! They have been telling their life history for over 20 years. Canadian Gov't has denied everything! Up until the discovery of the Indian children bones in unmarked graves! Canada is guilty of genocide, just like Germany = Holocaust! Kind, polite Canadians = GENOCIDE!!! They still have to check area's surrounding the rest of the Resident Schools for more graves!!

I used to bartend on the party boats that circle Manhattan. I worked a July 4th one year. The boat finds a place on the Hudson somewhere parallel to the West Village or Chelsea and drops anchor. All around are other party boats and private boats and some yachts, and they have also dropped anchor. Lots of police boats preventing us from going any further north on the river. We wait for the fireworks.
I'm busy doing my job and I'm not in the least interested in the fireworks display about to begin. They never impressed me.
The tourists on board all crowd around waiting. The show begins and I realize we are almost directly underneath the display. It was AWESOME!!!!
Anyone reading this, if you ever get a chance, book yourselves on one of those boats for the 4th. You will have a blast (no pun intended). Watching the display from shore is nothing like seeing it from underneath. No comparison.

I truly hope that would be great! We have always been great & shall continue to be great! We need to be kind & caring to pull the country , caring. Racism is able to be dealt with. In Canada, in the last few weeks over 1000 unmarked graves of Indian children's bones in unmarked grave's! They have to search the areas surrounding all the Native Residenal Schools, to search for more bones. The Indian children were taken from their parent's to be kept under control by the British/ ca. people in charge. They were beaten if they spoke their Native language. It was mandatory to have their hair cut, especially the boys & men. Men having long hair was a status for them. Both, boys & girls were sexually abused! Also, they were forced to speak only English! The truth has finally come out. Germany = Holocaust, Canada = Genicide!!!

Extra Extra perfect location for fireworks show. It was like the beginning of the Honeymooners!Haha. Great job! I caught the end here in LA. I used to take my dog to fireworks and he used to sit there and watch them. What bothered him were the people behind us going ooo and ahhh!

Halina Benben I am glad you enjoyed the American - 4th of July fireworks! The USA is extremely different than ca.. Especially, living in NYC, the roof is extremely used. Making use of the fire escape & roof. The roof is known as "tar beach"! We used small charcoal hibachi's for cooking dinner. We could see S. Bkln, Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, Staten Island to Brooklyn & NJ, Governor's Island - Coast Guard, Staten Island Ferries & Dock at the S. tip of Manhattan, able to see up to Midtown - Empire State Building. At the tip also, the World Trade Centers! This year will be the 20 years since it was attacked! Horrified!
