Awesome vid and awesome for me in a totally different way. I have a Spyder RT LTD with the Zumo preinstalled, smack dab in the middle of the handle bars. I wanted to remove it and use that real estate for other devices. Thought I would have to give up because I thought I would have to pull out the entire harness and not sure if it would knock out other audio from Can Am. So when I saw you dig out the sealant, I was like .... cool, I'm on it !! If the next owner wants it I'll hook back up and voila. Buttoned that up and moved on to wiring/installing a dual usb port. I was stuck and you saved me. Thanks, big time!

Thank you for a fantastic video showing in great detail how this is accomplished.
The speech is clear and the video is very easy to follow.

Awesome Video! Great detail. One question, would it be alright to just cut off the not required cables from the old mount and seal them up?

Very good video. I plan to order a new cradle and follow this video. In the meantime will the following work: Cut off the entire cable and strip out the main power wires and connect them to the BMW accessory wires (with the fuse). That would seem to work. But, could there be a problem from the remaining wires in the bundle, such as a short or bleed over across any 12V power carrying wires in the USB, stereo, or headphone wires? I’m a little concerned there might be possibility of a short there frying the 595. Thank you. Bill

I've seen and heard of multiple riders just cutting the wires, so it seems to work. I had the same worry as you, and decided to do it "properly" while I was at it.

The link for the cable gland does not work, have you got a supplier you can direct me to or an updated link? The link for the JST-PH 2.0 connector does not work either but I find these commonly available with a search, no so the cable gland.

Yeah, that's the issue with eBay-stuff, keeps going up and down. Can't find the exact same now, but a search for "5mm solid cable guard strain relief" gives quite a few results. Most of them should work, just look for a similar item.
