(based off of what Ganondorf said at the end of the classic Nintendo 64 game, Zelda Ocarina Of Time, reference- • The Legend Of Zelda Oc... ) The final scene to ever be seen on over the air broadcast DTV/HDTV. It's a knockoff of The Sopranos series finale. The last broadcast episode also had a scene with Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey) and Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) that was a knockoff of the classic movie, Gone With The Wind. This proves the lack of creativity that the Brian Frons era writers had. Susan Lucci was right about the lack of creativity that the Brian Frons era writers had.
I grew up watching this show with my grandma. I will always have love for ALL MY CHILDREN 💕💕💕
I always knew Erica's character was based loosely on Scarlet O'Hara and that final line said it all.

I mourn All My Children of the 1980s-early 90s. The show was so poor during the final years, due to poor writing/network decisions. I actually thought the cliff-hanger ending was quite good. The show should have ended there. It would be unrealistic to end a soap opera with all the loose ends tied up. Did anyone really expect that everyone would magically live happily-ever-after in Pine Valley, after all these years? I prefer to believe that the drama is still continuing.
ABC should never have cancelled our soaps (AMC and OLTL) to save $$ by replacing it with that grotesque show called "The Chew"

sadly soaps have out ran it's time i think, they're not very popular and not what stations are really looking for anymore i mean i'm sure a couple still exist some how, but probably take a different approach, all my children, one life to live, general hospital, hell even degrassi was beginning to feel like they were getting repetitive.

I was born in 1972 & grew up watching AMC with my Momma. I was so sad when they took it off the air! It was like losing a part of the family.

I really loved seeing the reunion of so many of my beloved friends from Pine Valley on the Home & Family (#HomeandFamilyTV) today! Seeing that show made me want to re-watch this ending, hence seeking out this video. I have truly missed these people SO much! I would give anything to have them back again, in any form that ABC/D would be willing to give them back to us, but at least the old videos exist. Tad's toast was amazing. LOVED this!
After ABC canceled this show I never turned ABC on again!
I have never heard a character in all these years of watching All My Children ever mention the name "All My Children"...until now, at about the five minute mark when Tad, referencing all his children actually said "All My Children". THIS is awesomely creative to have written into the final script!
However, to end the whole show with such a LETHAL cliffhanger....yes, this is likewise creative but more than this it is cruel to the loyal fans of All My Children. To leave us hanging like this, with this type of devastation, is NOT the right way to end the show that so many of us adored and loyally watched for so many years.
I Love the theme song for AMC. My Mother told me she started watching it from day one I was 2 yrs old. She told me that's how she got me started to. My favourite couple was Jesse Darnell Williams and Angie Debbi Morgan. I loved the two actors who played Erica Kane Susan Lucci and Stuart Chandler David Canray to. I loved a lot of characters on there I would have a whole list here but it's too long. I wish they would bring it back to do a week long family reunions for the Fans. Who's with me on this? I would love it if someone would start a petition to get AMC back for a big Family reunion. I would do it but I don't know how. I will be the first to sign it. Before anyone says anything yes I would love to see a family reunion for OLTL too with Vicky Lord Erika Slezak and Dorian Lord Robin Strasser

At 64 in 2011 Susan Lucci was still trying to play an ingenue.
The character of Erica was younger than Susan's real age. Susan was 23 when AMC began but she was playing a teenage Erica who was still in high school, so in 2011, Erica would have been in her 50s
The reason the finale ended the way it did was because AMC and OLTL had a deal with TOLN and their was some issues. When Prospect Park picked up the shows, AMC started like 10 years after the finale. All of a sudden, AJ and Miranda were in college
I think that they ended it like that because they thought it might continue on the internet.

Rumor has it is the new president of Abc is interested in a reboot of All My Children and One Live to Live.
I hope that they bring the soaps back to ABC. We miss them.

@@TheJleliot sadly that's why it's good it ended, i mean you can't have all my children without adam love him hate him he made a constant great villain. i honstly feel the show was kind of based around him and erica(not to get together) i mean any situation those two were both involved usually

I also was a faithful fan of All My Children since 1970
dreadful finale especially with the shooting. the cast reunion specials were better than this. this was a classic soap opera that ran for over 41 years on network tv. fans were really involved with the characters and the crazy storylines and we deserved a better send off. should have wrapped it up better.
As much as I miss another world in retrospect I'm glad it ended when it did because all soaps lost thier heart and soul starting in the early 2000s short plot driven scenes no character scenes so empty and flashy

Apparently, this was a rewritten ending to facilitate the show's move to Prospect Park. There's supposedly a script out there of a finale that Agnes Nixon originally approved of
Agnes died in 2016 at 93....she died of a broken 💔 both her two shows OLTL & AMC was killed by Brian Frons.
the one thing about this show if they we're some how able to bring it back and i know they brought other actors to play characters but you can't replace the actor who played adam chandler
Why should Erica get an fantasy happy ending?? I think this end was the best way to end that character the way it did

The last ten years of the show it wasn't that good. For a time I had quit watching during that span. The return of Angie and Jesse is what got me back into it really.
I think the other person that David brought back to life is someone connected to Dixie.
Erica should’ve chosen Jack.

It went out with a bang...
This ending missed the mark. Dr. |Martin should have done the closing speech. Tad was not an original and only Dr. Martin and Erica Kane were original characters. And this ending was to set up the future bomb of a web series. But Erica kane deserved one final proper ending and a happy one with Jack. Frankly people didn't give a dam about the failed web series.

I hated this ending and then they tried to revive it on Hulu but it didn’t pick up where they left off no one ever saw Stuart now even if they do decide to bring this show back Adam and Stuart are really gone 😡😢.

This was not the greatest of endings. Not the worse. First, Dr. Martin or even Adam should have given the final speech. And even those who "hated" the Erica character deserved a better ending. Erica should have been in red first of all. And Jack should have turned around after his line Frankly Erica I don't give a dam and returned, But I do, my heart says differently. Erica should then run towards Jack and BANG! But I did love near the end seeing former stars and some nice references to Erica especially wanting to be a stare the comments of the corner of Vine St or whatever in Hollywood and the cool reference to her becoming a star and getting her own star - only it says Susan Lucci!
The reboot online or a future reboot sadly won't have Adam or Stuart by David Canary or Mark or Edmund whose portrayers are all dead. maybe Erica should be a movie star but has lost the Academy Awards sya the last five years in the row or something.

One of the worst endings to a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng running show of ANY TYPE...let alone one of the most popular, best loved soap operas of all times! What were the writers 'smokin' when they wrote/filmed this ending? I am glad that Dixie and Tad were finally "together forever" again and it was nice that Adam FINALLY realize that Brooke was his 'soul-mate' and they were together again....BUT the so call ending for Erica and Jackson----the writers should be shot with this crap ending for them!!!! JR should've had his gun aimed on the writers and all persons responsible for this debacle of an ending to a great soap! Shame on all those writers/producers for this crap ending These fine actors: Susan Lucci, David Canary, Julia Barr, Micheal E. Knight, Cady McClain, Walt Willey Debbi Morgan, Darnall Williams, Jill Larson, Ray MacDonnell, and in memory of: Ruth Warwick, Frances Heflin, James Mitchell, Mary Fickett, & Kay Campbell DESERVE a better ending to a great soap opera! If Agnes Nixon was able to write an ending for her FAVORITE soap...she would've given us the best last episode EVER!
+monakayk The writers wanted to film a proper ending. They had filmed segments into the future show what would happen to the characters, but Prospect Park wanted a cliffhanger so they could resume the show online.

Jack should have left Erica a LONG time ago lmao! He could’ve ended it in the 90s when she was with Dimitri(mind you, I only got into the series in the early 2000s cause I hated how dedicated my mother was to the show) *another however* I felt totally crushed when Jack left her before the final moments of the greatest SOAP ever!

In '70 this Ca.girl was sent to S.Miss.with A.F.hubby.7mo.after Camille come to play.We found a small house 3mi.past Back Bay Bridge.Place was called'Hog Swamp'(no shit).No phone,only 2channels on TV.Erica had just gotten out of highschool.AMC was all I had Frons,may the bird of paradise fly up opposite your nose.ABC,may future plans 12-1pm cause a trillion hurricane enraged crocagators(crochead one end gatorhead other noway to shit)caress you with thier toes!Agnes,couldnt beat * into da' fools?

It was beautiful. Jackson had reached his breaking point with Erica's keeping him at arm's length, and when he got sick of her games, he was DONE.

Yeah AMC returned for 43 Episodes in 2013 but just on Hulu etc. and OWN aired it for 10 Weeks or something and they solved that Cliffhanger with JR/David and they told us that it was Marissa.. Soap opera characters never really die. They can come back as a twin, ghost, or in a dream. Frankly I thought this ending with Erica and Jackson was pretty cheesy also....I mean quoting "Gone with the Wind"....really ?
