- We put the all new Maruti Suzuki Swift against the newly updated Hyundai Elite i20 through their paces to find out which of these two recently launched hatchbacks is better.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift which we tested was the diesel automatic with Maruti's AGS AMT automatic gearbox which comes in only up to the ZDi trim. While Maruti does offer more features with the new swift like a touchscreen infotainment scree with reversing camera with the Zdi+ trim option, it is not offered with a automatic transmissions in both petrol or diesel forms. The Hyundai Elite i20 on the other hand was the 1.4-litre turbo diesel variant which comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The trim option on test was the top of the line Asta (O) which comes equipped with a total of six airbags.

Any time swift is better choice than i20.
I20 is very common now a days and backdated too.
Swift looks is far far aggressive than i20.
I20 maintenance is high compare to swift.i20 parts are non durable that's why maintenance cost is high than swift.
Resale value of swift is better than i20.

Grand is one of the cute and relaxed car
Swift lies in the premium hatchback segment. Its almost on par with Baleno now except on interior space. And if it had been a comparison of Petrol engines, swift would have easily blown i20 away.
Well i10 grand feels lower in this segment. One could compare it with suzuki ignis.
This is the first video i've seen from this channel. After seeing the production, content and the audio involved, I was sure that this channel must have at least 200K Subs.
However, as you surely can see, this channel seems to be underrated. We need to uplift creators like these who pump out quality content.

People who bought i20 last year are still better off with it as they keep the better design and alloys. The new back design looks very busy and not elegant. The old alloys looked so much better.

Don't be so modest. The new i20 design is outright ugly. Swift has demolished both i20 and Grand i10 in sales numbers within the first two months and will continue doing so, regardless of what Hyundai sheep say.

Okay yes the swift and i20 are different category cars,but many people are confused between the two,and would watch the video. so you can't really blame the guys for comparing them.
I20 is superb . Engine is so smooth and filtered . steering is nice.It is more stable in high speed than swift.i20 is a premium car.

reviews by Indians have lots of 'brilliant', 'fantastic', 'really really good'. Everything is good, only slight negetives. Its quite hard to choose the right product.
Great effort, well people criticising auto x, remember , its the automatic which is being conpared with i20 which definitely doesnt come with high end features. I am watching auto x for the first time and would say it was a great effort with an honest review.

The most important thing you forgot to mention is the average mileage of the car. (City/highway). and cabin noise of this two car (diesel).bydwy, nice video.👍👍👍👍.....
All in all i20 is a good car, but handling and safety department is where it scores low. I own a fiat punto 93ps diesel, although punto did not get a fair update to features since ages but no other car comes close in handling or safety department in premium segment.. Handling and ride are top notch. I suppose next there should be comparison between punto and i20.

Swift vs elite i 20 is like compairing vitara brezza with hyundai creta. Cost of car must be considered during comparison. Compare swift with a car equal to its cost. Keeping that aside swift punches above its weight in driving dynamics but i20 is more luxurious .
My opinion it depends what u want in a car. If u want comfort, premium feel, refinement u will go for i20. If u want a fun to drive car confident drive like me then swift.

For the given price, and any Hyundai for that matter, i20 is awfully cramped in space, heck even my Verna is. All that fit and finish with so claustrophobic interiors, goes in vain.
Definately Hyundais are more fun to drive though.

i20 and baleno are same as swift thats why suzuki priced swift top model upto 9 lacs and i20 is also similarly priced.
