    What an incredible ride this has been. Thank you all so much for watching! ❤
    *EDIT:* Adding this theory here because I came to this conlusion after the video was complete and I feel like it's important to mention.
    Admittedly, at least for our first watch I think we took what Claudia was saying at face value. We were so hyped by her surprise appearance at the end of 3x7 that we were fully ready to believe anything she said. But... we do know that Claudia lies as a means to an end.
    It's only after I rewatched the finale that I started considering other possibilities. One thing that makes me think that maybe this was all predetermined from the start was the fact that Jonas and Martha as kids see each other's older selves. Only, they see versions of themselves from a path in which they've supposedly used the loophole to break the chain of cause and effect.
    We know from 3x6 that even if they've changed time to create separate branches, the timelines still coexist simultaneously. So by that logic... shouldn't the path where Jonas and Martha go to the origin world also coexist and overlap with the others?
    In theory, according to Schrödinger's cat, two origin worlds - a world where Tannhaus's family dies and Jonas/Martha's worlds exist, and a world where Tannhaus's family lives and Jonas/Martha's worlds don't exist - exist in quantum superposition.
    The funny thing about Schrödinger's cat and why I'm always amused when it's brought up in shows/films is that it was originally conceived as a critique of how ridiculous quantum mechanics was. So that's interesting to think about.

      Martha and Jonas saving Marek and family prevents them from existing which means there's now no one to save Marek which means HG Tanhaus will make his machine etc.

      Oh .. I, too, think Schrodinger's Cat helps explain the paradoxical ending. I kinda of think that Jonas and Martha might have caused the accident in a parallel reality. When they first appeared in Origin world, they almost caused the accident. I think this was a subtle hint from Bo and Jantje. 😉

    The fucked thing is Tannhaus has no idea he invented time travel and brought his family back from the dead. He broke the world to save his son, Claudia fixed it to save her daughter. So Marek and his wife met two people who never existed in the first place when you think about it. That's probably the craziest bootstrap of all of them.

    Even though this show is universally loved, there are rarely any reactors who show as much respect for this masterfully crafted story as you do. Your attention to detail, as well as the inclusion of your notes from much earlier episodes, really show how much you appreciate this series.
    You two are the best Dark reactors out there...

    I want to add that what I find beautiful about Wöller and Hannah getting together is not just the fact, that he seemingly liked her before, but that Hannah finally has someone who appreciates her. Yes in our two split timelines she does a lot of things wrong, but she was also never really loved by the men in her life. Mikkel always had his mind in another time, she said so herself, that he was never really there and Ulrich never loved her back for all she felt for him. Even for Egon she was just „the other woman“. In the OG timeline she can finally be loved and love in return.

    • @ChannelNamePending699
      @ChannelNamePending699  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      When it came up that all the men in her life betrayed her, I never thought it was fair to put Michael in that camp, but you're right - the fact that he was never truly open with her could certainly be seen as a betrayal in its own right. It's nice that this Hannah gets a happy ending with Wöller.

    • @lullybowillys5787
      @lullybowillys5787 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I disagree about Mikkel. He was drugged most of his life and at least childhood by Ines (even as an adult they say he is "sick" implying depression and meds). Hannah was always obssessed by Ulrich and even when they werent cheating, she was emotionnally cheating in her head. She probably tried to move on with Michael but never succeeded, and yes, the fact that he was never fully mentally here and "sick" didnt help but i think he always knew Ulrich was in the picture (even if he might not remember that it was his father because of drugs until very recently before his death as implied in 2x06). He saw Hannah as a teen around Ulrich he had to know she was into him it was so obvious. He should have never married her to be honest. I dont know if we can say he never loved her. But one thing for sure. She cared about him but never fully loved him and never moved on from her obsession with Ulrich, and he had 30 years to figure it out so he probably gave up trying to feel loved by her and therefore love her back as he would have wanted to. (They should have divorced in my opinion, cheating or not, because she wasnt fully with him in her heart anyway). So i dont think we can put him in the same camp than Ulrich when it comes to betrayal.
      But hey, i respect your take and am just sharing mine!

    Thank you for this fabulous ride. You did amazing!!! Btw. You can still watch 1899 from the DARK show creators (bearded Jonas is in it too). Sadly cancelled after S1 but worth the watch still. They robbed us of another mind-bending show. They also did a movie which is a bit of a riddle too, and was the reason they were offered to do DARK on Netflix (they refused to do a TV version of the movie and then pitched DARK). The movie is called WHO AM I.

    i love that your first instinct was that it’s not gonna go as planned because you’ve been conditioned to expect the worst possible outcomes, given the tragedy and nihilism of the show so far, but one of the things that make the show so special is that even though claudia tells adam that “everything you and eva did, you did out of love. and yet you have brought nothing but pain and suffering” and making it clear that love is the root of all of the messed up events of this story (tannhaus’ love for his family), love was also the key to setting them free (claudia’s love for regina and martha and jonas’ love for each other). even though two worlds disintegrated into nothingness the writers chose to end it on a hopeful note with that epilogue.
    i’ve seen a lot of reactions to this show and you two are hands down the best. the emotional investment, the theorizing, the astute observations-absolutely elite. excited to see more from you two!! (recommending another one of my favorite shows, The Expanse, for a future reaction series ;))

      Thank you!!
      There are only three moments of (intentional) levity throughout the show that I can recall (besides Wöller):
      - 2x4: Franziska and Elisabeth show up at the Nielsens. Franziska leaves Elisabeth alone with Martha. Elisabeth just smiles and waves at Martha, Martha is unamused.
      - 3x2: Martha finishes explaining the entire concept of alternate worlds to Jonas and Co, and Franziska's only takeaway was: "I'm mute?" (not sure if this was intentional but it was funny to me)
      - 3x5: Charlotte is accusing Helge of shady business in front of Elisabeth and Peter ushers her out of earshot: "She's not deaf!" (this one is more so dramatic irony for the audience)
      There are probably more. But these are the ones I can remember. Funny how they all vaguely concern the Doppler sisters in one way or another.

    Jonas and Martha seeing each other’s younger self and vice versa is the bootstrap paradox and has always happened. This is why alt Martha said she had seen him before. Deja vu or the glitch in the matrix occur because of the moment they were connected beyond time and space which was bound to happen as it has always happened.
    This is why Schrödinger’s cat in a way stops the grandfather paradox as although the observable universe “collapses” when we observe Tannahaus’ kids survive, there must be a reality that simultaneously exists where they don’t for the other to be true. Thus creating a bigger loop where both Martha and Jonas worlds exist and do not exist.

    My favorite part is when he runs into her and they disappear- you can feel the tension, confusion but sheer desperation that this will work! 🥲
    33:15 note, they are the glitch in the matrix, literally lol
    Also I feel like they missed the opportunity to have “the truck” drive by that supposedly hit them on the bridge if they had continued 😅
    Sadly Alexander probably died of his wound or at least did not ever meet Regina because she was only out there at that moment because of Ulrich and Katharina

    Something that I have loved is to finally have a movie or television show that really captures the worst interpretation of time travel, that it becomes and endless cycle of pain. All the questions of free will and whether we are in charge of our fate, and all because of the pain of one man trying to save his son.
    But I'm glad you realised the true mission. Finding the world where Woller is complete.

    You two are a little off with the suitcase time machine, it's actually Eva gives blueprints to Claudia, Claudia gives them to Tannhaus, Tannhaus gives the freshly built time machine to Middle Jonas after taking the broken one, Hannah takes it from Middle Jonas. Hana takes it to sic mundus, Adam gives it to Noah, Noah gives it Bartosz, Magnus takes it from Bartosz, Magnus gives Katrina, Katrina gives it to Middle Jonas. Middle Jonas uses it to send them back in time. It looks like it stays at sic mundus until the day of the apocalypse and Old Claudia somehow goes back to 1986 - 87 without the suitcase maybe she has the orb, she fills it up and goes back to 1953-54 buries it. Middle Claudia digs it up. Jonas collects Middle Claudia, they then go to 2019-2020 the time machine stays in the bunker which is now broken in Jonas becomes Middle Jonas who takes it back in time to Tannhaus.

    • @ChannelNamePending699

      Yes thank you!! This path works much better. For some reason I thought Bearded Jonas took back the version of the machine that Tannhaus repaired but I just rewatched that scene and yes, he does take the new, unused one. Which means the path we plotted doesn't work. And during the series finale, we were too focused on what Claudia was saying to notice that she was collecting the machine from Sic Mundus.

    Back in the day while watching the second season of Dark, I came upon a German movie on my local IP TV channels, and its story intrigued me because of the plot points of the little town, youngsters, and a nuclear plant accident. I did watch it for about 45-50 minutes and I was almost certain that the creators of Dark did take some plotlines from this movie. The movie is from 2006 and is called "Die Wolke" (The Cloud). Certain characters look like the root ideas for Martha, Franziska, Jonas, Bartosz, and Mikkel (The primary male youngster is somehow a mixture of Jonas and Bartosz). There is a small German town and a nuclear plant that has an accident. There even was a scene where the Martha-like and the Franziska-like characters swam in the local lake completely naked. The Martha-like character's name is Hannah, and she has a Mikkel-like little brother. The creators of Dark, Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, were born in '78 and '77, and they were 28 and 29 years old when this movie came about. I'm pretty sure that this movie influenced them and is a blueprint for some of the characters and some of the plot points of Dark. PS: There's a copy of the movie on TH-cam. Unfortunately, it has all of the ads from the TV channel.

    ‘Why do they kind of look like Jonas and Martha?’
    Jonas is a acronym for Sonja, Tannhaus’s daughter-in-law, while his son MARek TannHAus stands for Martha. The fandom has pointed out that they are also similar to the two, as in Martha is more emotional like marek and Sonja more soft like Jonas :)

    35:37 some people interpret the scene between Jonas&Martha and Sonja&Marek as them giving up their souls so that the roles of the dead and the living get reversed. The appearance of them can be an argument. But a much better one are their names:
    Jonas is an anagram for Sonja
    And Martha can be arranged from MARek TannHAus.
    It's kinda dumb that the show never mentions the Tannhaus car accident in the first 2.5 seasons and it feels like it came out of the blue.
    However the editors revealed that the S3E6 scene between Charlotte and Tannhaus in which they discuss the car accident should've been in S1 from the start. But the creators were not happy with the placement in S1 and moved it up to S2 where they again were not happy with its placement there and moved it to S3.
    This is also why the words of Jonas stuck with Charlotte, since it should've played on the same day she meets him.
    The day of creation is the 21.6.1986, the day Michael hanged himself but 33 years prior and the exact day of the incident at the power plant. This is also why every party thinks the incident at the nuclear power plant created the passage, because they don't know about the 3rd world, where Tannhaus machine created it.
    If one sums up the single digits of the date we get 2+1+6+1+9+8+6 = 33 !!!
    Btw the power plant doesn't exist in the origin world; it's not there in the background in 1971; because its existence depends on the Unknown threatening the mayor.
    It's also really cool to see the doors of the passages literally depicting what happened there in the first place: Thus the world[s] were created. There will be light (as the Tannhaus' machine activates a beam of light fires into the passage).
    Adam's prophecy at the end was fullfilled. The passage will open again and then will [-Adam- Jonas] lead us into paradise.
    Every single time when they try to destroy the knot it connects in some way or form to the passage:
    Claudia convinced the Stranger the passage was the origin, but he was there at the wrong time.
    Adam searched for the connection of all the worlds but only considered 2 out of 3 worlds and thought the bridge between worlds was the Unknown.
    Noah says to Helge in S1E9 that if they can harness the energy of the passage they can change the timeline.
    1:10:28 Baran Bo Odar confirmed that they literally casted everyone available in Germany to fit the characters haha
    At the end we see a unification of all the familys:
    The Dopplers (formerly Tiedemann) live in the Kahnwald house which got the interior design of the Nielsen house.
    The set also parallels the Sic Mundus HQ with all the candles and with a bright colourful painting however instead of the fall of the damned.
    I will miss your reactions. They were great and I don't say this lightly.
    The theorycrafting and the joy you guys had during the discussions was really worthwhile.

      1:02:00 we did catch the name similarities, albeit later on
      I noticed that Charlotte was wearing the same clothes (or what looked like the same clothes) in that episode with her and Tannhaus (I think you meant 3x5?) that she was wearing during her scene with Jonas in S1E10. I wasn't sure if that meant it was supposed to be the same day, or if with the progression of time it was still taking place in 1987.
      The placement is rather tricky. Including such an important hint in season 1 might have made it difficult for viewers to remember it by season 3. Season 2 might have worked, since Charlotte's story was such a big focus in that season. Ultimately I didn't really feel like it came out of nowhere, because I'd already assumed that there had to be more to the story when it came to why Charlotte ended up being adopted by Tannhaus of all people.
      The number trivia 👌👌 If the power plant doesn't exist in the origin world, I wonder what Bernd and Claudia did for work lol
      Oh man it was so nice to finally have some full clarity on the meaning of 'Sic Mundus Creatus Est' and 'Erit Lux'
      I do like that the four families are all represented in the final scene, although it is sad that the whole Nielsen bloodline was erased from existence - Agnes, Tronte, Ulrich, Magnus, Martha, Mikkel
      Thank you for all the excellent Dark trivia, tidbits, and knowledge you've shared! One of my favorite pastimes is doing deep dives into the lore of the shows, movies, and books I consume, and yours and others' comments made that possible without the risk of spoiling ourselves while we were still watching. 🙏

    What do you guys think about this theory: In Adam’s world Tannhaus said they never found Charlotte’s body (his granddaughter). What if Elisabeth and adult Charlotte (Doppler) after delivering baby Charlotte (Doppler), saved his granddaughter and took her to 1822, where she grows up and marry Heinrich Tannhaus. He also makes the watch named Charlotte.

    The Paradise = Real Life, I spose.
    To answer your question about "how did they remember seeing each other if this is happening the first time" with my theory about that: it's basically the same reason all the bootstrap paradoxes happened in the knot in that it always happened that way. Tannhaus created the "knot" but in that very same moment the knot untangled itself by preventing it's own existence. Jonas and Martha both never did it before and always did it. One could say they were always cosmically bound and destined to do what they did this episode.
    What I think is quite interesting about the way Dark handled the issue other "time travel prevents itself" paradoxes, because it sidesteps it almost(!!!) entirely because it avoids internal paradoxes in the Origin world. I guess it all depends how one defines the death of the Origin world and how that looks like as both infinity and 0 are incomprehensible in this sense. I wonder what would have happened if Jonas tried to travel to the Origin world after 1986 - would the device malfunction or cause life to cease to exist entirely? We'll never know cause it didn't happen and was never meant to. The Origin world wasn't saving itself but was instead being saved by an external entity, or in this case the coming together of two external worlds, once the desire to create time travel was removed from Tannhaus. This only resulted in the 'loss' of things that never existed in the Origin world in the first place, so the change was never felt by anyone (beyond the Angelic/Supernatural presence of Jonas/Martha to Marek & Sonja).
    I think it's nice to think of it as two cosmic timelines working together to bring back another timeline from the dead.

    • @ChannelNamePending699
      @ChannelNamePending699  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      This is a really thoughtful take, I love it. I originally wrote this as a reply to another comment in this thread, but I think it also works as a response to yours:
      Admittedly, at least for our first watch I think we took what Claudia was saying at face value. We were so hyped by her surprise appearance at the end of 3x7 that we were fully ready to believe anything she said. But... we do know that Claudia lies.
      We know from 3x6 that even if they've changed time to create separate branches, that the timelines still coexist simultaneously.

    • @sVieira151
      @sVieira151 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ChannelNamePending699 yup. I think in the explanation of Schroedingers Cat in 3x7 did specify that it was on a microcosmic scale and that Tannhaus brought up the question of if it would work on a macrocosmic scale, so I presume this was the writers intention to explore that.
      I think that you are probably spot on about the two states of the trifectas being in super position.
      I'm also of the mind that we can never truly know as our own consciousness as a content consumer can't be in superposition (I dont think?!).
      The macroscopic 'observer' in this theoretical experiment is Jonas - through following from his points of view we find the knot in its single and final cycle/iteration/final curve of the sphere (however you want to visualise it).
      We are never privy to the full picture of the superposition because we actually have no reliable first hand knowledge of the non-observed state. We know how Eve dies (Adam shoots her), but what happens to Adam then? We'll never know because our observer was the final form of Adam and his consciousness in the observed state was ended with the erasure of his world and lineage.
      I'm a bit tired to think it through, but I wonder if there'd be a way to actually theorise, due to the instantaneous nature of basically everything that happened in the show from the point Tannhaus pressed those buttons, that this all happened at a microscopic level and that these characters were only macroscopic visualisations. 🤔

    Dark is the best show I've ever seen. I watched it back in 2020, and it literally changed the way I consume media. The two sentences you said, that go through all our heads in one way or another: “I could talk all day about the show” and “I don't want it to end.”
    These are exactly the two main reasons why so many Dark fans are still looking for new reactions after such a long time. That and the fact that unfortunately many feel that no other show reaches the same level - that many other shows are “nice” but just never play in the same league as Dark. That you don't get drawn in and there's just something missing that sets Dark apart from all the other shows. We just are not able to find anything that results in the same feeling again...
    The only show that ever gave me similar vibes was LOST. But unfortunately the ending there was disappointing, because in retrospect you could see that the writers themselves had no idea how to explain many of the mysteries and therefore simply didn't address them again ... leaving you disappointed and which drags the whole series down. Mr. Robot is also good and has some nice twists, but not on the same level.
    Which again shows that a well thought out and planned 3-season show is much better received than a series that is artificially dragged out as a cash cow and the writers have to invent more and more “red herrings” because the originally conceived story simply doesn't deliver more content.
    Thank you for letting us share in your “experience” - it has made the hole in our hearts a little smaller again. Good luck for the future!

Not that they're really anything alike, but they're both meticulously written, planned ahead story-wise, and deal with pretty cerebral concepts. "If this is new, then how do they remember?"
    Because... it looks like these events have happened before, which means Claudia was wrong. Which means... even the ending was likely predetermined. 😉
    Oh. Regarding your comments about Jonas/Martha and Sonja/Marek resembling each other: Sonja is an anagram for Jonas and MARek TannHAus spells Martha.
    And it's definitely implied that Jonas might be reborn into the Origin world, which means Martha should be reborn as well, which is consistent with the theme of rebirth used throughout the series.
    So maybe it's a true happy ending after all. 😉
    Here's something I noticed on a rewatch: Tannhuas had the Infinity symbol on him the whole time. His glasses. They look like the symbol turned sideways.
    Tannhuas wears his glasses in every scene until Jonas and Martha prevent the accident. Then he's suddenly no longer wearing them. 😉

      I don't remember the quote exactly word for word in English, but Tannhaus said it back in season 1: "The past doesn't just influence the future, the future also influences the past." or something along those lines.
      So I think it is very likely that it actually did happen for the first time, but since it happened now, it kinda had to have happened to their kid versions back then as well, thus changing the past.
      But honestly, after several rewatches of the whole show and watching a lot of reactions, it is still the only scene I personally don't understand why they decided to include it. I'm also fully aware that I probably just don't understand its significance yet.

    • @ChannelNamePending699
      @ChannelNamePending699  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@AmarthwenNarmacilI think there are a few ways it can be interpreted. In the video I suggested that because they see each other as children, that image of each other stays with them their whole lives and so even if they don't precisely remember it, they end up meeting and feel like they've seen each other before. Because they have. They're so intrigued by each other, but they don't know why. When Martha says "it wasn't a dream," it's almost like that image has been nagging at her since she was a kid, and she always wanted to believe it was real, that it was more than just a dream. Their lives have always been intertwined, years before they even met. They're the glitch in matrix, so even if this moment is "new," their bond transcends the rules of time and space.

    1:00:19 Ullrich never existed, so Hannah doesn't get obsessed with him, didn't see him and Katharina, reported them to Egon and never blamed it on Regina.
    So there are no Ullrich and Katharina who are going after Regina in the open Fields for Aleksander to come and rescue Regina, which in return means,

    • @ChannelNamePending699
      @ChannelNamePending699  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I do think this is plausible, but I also want to play devil's advocate. Borrowed entirely from a comment by @annak2957:
      "I've heard that explanation before, but I don't quite buy it, going by the other people who do exist outside the loop in the origin world.
      Regina still exists, even though Claudia's life wasn't affected by the Nielsens. Katharina (?) still exists, even though Helene didn't get her name from Hannah. And most surprisingly, Peter still exists even though Helge's life must have been entirely different without 'the incident' and everything that followed. Hell, the whole damn town must have had very different lives without the power plant.
      To me, this implies that as long as someone's parentage doesn't directly require time travel on a genetic level, they're considered outside the loop. It would be quite strange if Bartosz were the only exception to that, and it's not hard to imagine Regina and Aleksander still meeting, perhaps under slightly different circumstances. That's a lot less of a stretch than Helge still having the same kid with the same woman."
      Imo I think this is equally plausible. And I also just want to believe in the possibility that Regina and Aleksander eventually meet "again" in the origin world.

Similarly Francisca also done so much work and reborns in second second World and she was not having voice because she disrespected her sister who can't speak and her soul was also satisfied during Apocalypse of second World. but Jonas born again in his own universe but in Scrodinger cat theory, quantum immortality, that's why he never born in second World because he was always present in his world, his soul never gone their to reborn. But they all reborn in third world through different parents and reunited. The paradise.
    yes it may possible that quantum immortality concept of quantum physics can exist in real we just don't know that we are immortal and we will be become our Ulternate version of Scrodinger cat experiment, as Jonas felt something when he first read the letter of Martha, because he knows then only that The lines he said to real Martha can't be known by the Martha of other world. So it may be all version of all characters were past and future life of each other. And that is why he became Adam from Jonas.
    There is also a hint given in episode 5 of season 2 that in staring scene Middle Jonas dreamed where he is with Teenage Martha on bed and then suddenly Martha belly Ejects black liquid and that was their son, the origin, he was shocked because Adult jonas never goes to Martha for intercourse on bed , but because in true sense he goes to Martha world and died and reincarnated in alternate version.
    And the song named "I am done dying" was playing during Stranger Jonas was on work, indicating that he is done dying
    And the song named " My body is a cage " was playing in season 2 last episode at the same time when the show was going to introduce about Alternate Martha, which means they were giving us a hint that every character's soul is going to reborn in another world after they died in previous world or in previous split of timelines.
    Season 3 first episode name was " Deja vu" as we know all character's have told that i am having a deja vu just because they have seen same thing in their lifetime similar to the scene in episode 6 of season 2 in which hannah sees younger mikkel and just because she have seen him in her childhood she had a deja vu but why Martha said that she is having a deja vu in episode one of season one, not because she was remembering the things happened in her lifetime but her lifetime of previous world.
    And Martha says that exact same statement in her first stage performance in her play in episode 1,season 1, and the lines was "my mother told me about her life in the previous world, and what work we have to do for making a new world, brick by brick".
    And this is the reason why IMD ratings said in their description about dark, this is time travel story with a paranormal twist.
    And if you are still thinking why Jonas and Martha in last episode said they remember that they see each other in the closet if third split was new, then this is the answer all deja vu was a memory of previous Reincarnated life they lived so it means the third split was also a part of loop which they thought they broke but at last it was actually the loop only who came to end by changing itself only.
    And this is the reason why Hannah in last episode remembers her memory of previous all lives. Similar to mikkel of second World having a dream from his previous life of being Michael, this Hannah also said that she was having a dream of Apocalypse in previous worlds.

      This was a very interesting read, thank you for sharing. I'm not sure I personally buy into the specific theory of quantum immortality (although I am familiar with the concept) with regards to Dark, but it's certainly as fair an interpretation as any other. There's absolutely something to be said for the fact that the alternate versions of characters sometimes seem to experience echoes of each other's lives or memories. Or the simple fact that entire interactions, moments, and conversations are mirrored in both worlds, sometimes down to the exact lines of dialogue.

    Always wondered how Tronte could exist in both worlds. You can't make the same baby in both worlds. My theory is Eva used the loop to bring baby Tronte to her world, so he can exist in both worlds. Also wondered how Hannah ends up with Egon to create Silja in the other world. Otherwise it's just a paradox and a result of the splitting of the origin world. Which is also fine.

      Never thought of that one - though would that mean that Agnes B raises a Tronte that she herself never conceived? Another theory (and the one I personally go with) is that the Unknown uses the loophole to duplicate himself at the moment of the apocalypse so that two versions of him can couple with the Agneses. It lines up better with Erit Lux's family tree (although we know it's not completely accurate).
      We see Alt-Egon taking Alt-Hannah away at the end of 3x6, presumably to meet his younger self, much like how Alt-Noah brings Alt-Elisabeth to meet his own younger self.

    I mentioned this on the previous episode, but I'll put it here too because I'm seeing a lot of comments espousing the popular "Aleksander/Boris must have died in the woods because Regina wasn't there" theory.
    I don't believe it. Of the origin world characters we see at the dinner scene, all of their parents were influenced by time travel prior to having them except the Wöllers. Claudia never met the Nielsens, Helene never met Hannah, and Helge....where to even begin with Helge. Yet, all of them still had their respective children, because their children aren't technically born of the loop.
    If Helge isn't attacked by Ulrich, doesn't travel, and doesn't meet Noah, yet is still destined, *required* to have Peter because Peter isn't born of time travel, that implied rule of determinism would require Regina and Aleksander to hook up and have Bartosz, too, because Bartosz also isn't a time baby. It's as easy to explain as "Regina felt like going through the woods anyway" or "Aleksander patched himself up or was helped by someone else and meets her later". That requires far less of a "hand of fate" push than Helge still having the same kid despite having a completely different life from a young age.
    To me, this is a much cleaner and more logical theory than the alternative: That everybody who doesn't exist is born of Silja's lineage, the first time baby - except Bartosz, who somehow also doesn't exist, even though determinism forces every other character who isn't strictly of Silja's time baby loop to be born. That just doesn't make much sense.
    Anyway, it's been a wild ride. Thank you for delivering some of the absolute best Dark content out there; this is a really challenging show, but you absolutely rose to the occasion with your predictions, theories, and analyses

      Incredible. The score was very unique and atmospheric, and I loved the repeating motifs throughout the show (character themes such as Noah's, the Stranger's, and Eva's, to name a few). The score was also used very liberally, I felt, without feeling like it was overused - it's hard to recall many scenes that had no music at all. They clearly wanted the music to play a huge part in establishing tone, and they did an excellent job of it. In many ways it felt like its own character. In fact, the quality of the score was something I wish we'd talked about more in our discussions, since it's such an big yet underrated part of the show.
      And of course you can't talk about music in Dark and forget to mention the songs used during the montages in each episode. It would've been easy for them to get old or repetitive, but it was such a unique style choice and I ended up looking forward to them every time. I'm not going to list all my favorites here as I have too many to include in one comment, but I think my personal #1 combination of song + montage was Pneumothorax in 3x7. It hit incredibly hard the first time we watched it. Which is interesting considering it's mostly instrumental and hardly has any lyrics, but as someone who loves instrumentals I thought it worked perfectly.
      Btw, I just found out the rendition of 'Wonderful World' from 3x8 is by Soap&Skin, the artist behind 'Me & the Devil' (1x5) and vocalist from 'Goodbye' by Apparat (intro song). Love that.

    Technically Tannhaus did succeed in saving his family lol. He’ll just never know it. This shows us that time in the Origin World either can be changed and isn’t predetermined or that it IS predetermined and he was always meant to lose his family, create the 2 worlds and then after a bunch of cycles it was meant to end with Jonas and Martha saving his family.
    I kinda love how the show leaves it open to interpretation as to whether or not Claudia actually developed free will or was the cycle always meant to end at some point.

      I don't think it's ever revealed in the show, but I also don't think it *really* matters, because the actual reason for giving Bartosz the machine was so Magnus and friends would eventually steal it, and that it ends up back with Bearded Jonas. Because Hannah stole his machine.
      So I imagine Noah was sending Bartosz on meaningless jobs, maybe to make him think he was important or mattered. Or perhaps they sent him to collect fuel (cesium-137) for the machine, giving the dangerous task of going near radioactive waste to a newbie who didn't yet know what he was doing.

    So... I should get some sleep but I also want to start your video; if only I could make use of some quantum superposition and do both;
    Jantje has written the show with different audiences in mind; I have said that several times; she has presented a rather complex yet simple enough solution for the ending; but she has definitely written at least one more layer underneath for the people who hunt the clues;
    A lot of people will explain the ending with verbatim quoting dialog on the show; I won't I will interpret every line spoken and take more into considereation what is told through the various other means the medium can convey information;
    So let's start off with what has happened in both other season finales: in the first season finale, Stranger-Jonas has used the Tannhaus device inside the passage; we heard from Noah, that Claudia tricked him into that and 3x07 has just confirmed that claim; in the second season finale Jonas has used the Tannhaus device inside the passage and explained to Claudia that he did that for reasons that apocalypse-Claudia had taught him; but in season 3 we find out that Claudia was again lying to him as she did so on orders from alt-Claudia;
    and this episode starts off with a deus-ex-machina version of Claudia who again tells Jonas/Adam several things that she should not be able to know; so maybe she is just telling him what he needs to hear to do what she wants!? or as the otherJonas said before he was shot: "because they all lie!"
    There are indeed several ways to interpret the ending; but I have to wait how you two did it

    • @ChannelNamePending699
      @ChannelNamePending699  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Admittedly, at least for our first watch I think we took what Claudia was saying at face value. We were so hyped by her surprise appearance at the end of 3x7 that we were fully ready to believe anything she said. But... we do know that Claudia lies.
      We know from 3x6 that even if they've changed time to create separate branches, that the timelines still coexist simultaneously.

      @@ChannelNamePending699 tbh.... I don't know. Sic Mundus seemed to have been created before even the first instance (world chronologically) seemed to be Jonas & co arriving at 1888 and is then taken in by an elderly Gustav Tannhaus. Sic Mundus was created by Gustav's father Heinrich when Gustav was a boy at the latest.
      As far as we can tell, no time travel was used in the creation of the original Sic Mundus (I mean it very well could be just off screen). The fact that Eve's group (and door) is called Erit Lux is weirdly different but technically speaking doesn't mean that there was no OG Sic Mundus in Eve's World (It could have just died out as by the time Gustav was an old man he was the last non-traveler member of Sic Mundus).
      So I guess we don't really know. It could go either way at this point as it is very within character of both Adam and Eve (esp Eve considering what she had her son do) to go back even further than what we saw and cause the formation of the group that can then be co-opted by the Travelers in the future.

      1. Tannhaus' Original Machine (which maybe does something on that spot/caves?)
      2. Cave Passage
      3. Cesium & Apocalypses God Particle portal.
      4. Sic Mundus God Partical? (Maybe? I assume that Jonas used what he knew from working on getting the Apocalypses Portal to stabilize to construct the Sic Mundus Portal)
      5. Time Travel Chair (Jonas sends Hanno to conduct experiments* harnessing the energy from the caves. Likely to learn the mechanics for making a carriable (briefcase) device.
      6. Briefcase & Orb Blueprints (Likely using the results from the Time Travel Chair experiments/device, Sic Mundus creates blueprints for a couple ideas for a portable device (we see blue prints for what looks to be the Briefcase device and a device that might either be the orb part of the briefcase or the predecessor of the Orb Device).
      7a. Altered Briefcase Blueprints (We see the Unknown/Kain steal the blueprints from Sic Mundus while they burn down the lodge (possibly in retaliation to Jonas killing his mom and burning down the Erit Lux HQ), Martha removes a critical part of the blueprints and gives them to Claudia to deliver to Adam's H.G. Tannhaus to construct.
      7b. Orb Device**? (maybe getting the blueprints + looking at results from Beta Chair Device is what makes the blueprints for the Orb device that might then be given to Beta H.G. Tannhaus?)
      8a. Completed Briefcase Device (Tannhaus constructs the device but is only able to finish it when comparing it with it's future self and findout out there is a piece missing from his version that he replicates. Essentially gating when Adam's world gets access to this device)
      8b. Duplicate Orb??? (Theorhetorically, through Martha's use of the Apocalypses, she duplicates the Orb device. One goes back to her and the other is confiscated by Sic Mundus)
      *It's not something I thought about but I like your idea that all the experiment targets were to perpetuate the loop. Two birds one stone. Makes sense!
      **I'm not sure how the Orb comes to be. Whether it's at the same time as or after the briefcase version. It's very unclear since we don't see much of Eve's world.
      Note: While Jonas and many of the characters see and use multiple forms of the time travel device (and therefor know of their existence before being the one responsible for it's creation), they still need to create the device(s) and they still need to learn how to do so. so even they they already have the briefcase, they still need to do the experiments to create the blueprints to ensure that the loop continues.

As I said, in many ways Adam and Eva's worlds seem to be a mirror version of the origin world, and I think Heinrich Tannhaus trying to resurrect his late wife through time travel was just Adam's World's twisted reflection of what the original H.G. Tannhaus was trying to do. It'd just be too weirdly coincidental for the same thing to happen twice in Tannhaus's family history, both times with a family member named Charlotte, and both events being independent of each other. Yes, you could argue that H.G.'s family in Adam's World also died the same way, but it's been established that the entire timeline of the worlds Tannhaus created was almost by design, in order to make everything fit together.

    I think that all three worlds can not exist. They are impossible (anomalous) in our reality due to arising paradoxes. Rather, their probability of existence is extremely small and they disappear.
    If the Tannhaus family dies in a car incident, then this leads to impossible paradoxes and such worlds are collapsed. This leaves the most likely 4-world where the Tannhaus family decides to return home (by divine providence or by their own choice).
