    This is a fantastic way to see what can be done in the WordPress editor with blocks! It's so common for people to say, "I want that!" after seeing something they like. Taking a cool design and then deconstructing it is such a great learning method. What an idea generator!

      Having spent the better half of around 12 years hand coding and replicating complex layouts by hand, I feel I've earned the right to migrate over to WPE WB's 🙂

    I began to watch this video in the Gutenberg Facebook Group then I came here to watch it in full. It is really great. Good to learn how WP core blocks are versatile and very didatic for us to learn. You are a gifted person. Thank you very much for sharing it.

    Really appreciate you going through how all these designs are made. Similarly appreciate the website 30 min build videos. It really helps to see you go through all the steps of setting things up, and I always learn at least one or two things that I can use in my current designs and find answers to things that have been puzzling me how to do.

    This is a great one! I'm trying to force myself to stick with the stock Gutenberg editor and not fall back to one of the new(ish) Gutenberg builder add ons so this is helpful to see what can be done. Also, since looking at the pattern library can be a bit over & underwhelming it's nice to have a curated list of some of the better patterns up there.

    Great tutorial, I don’t think I’ve come across something like this before on TH-cam, this is huge to deconstruct a design in very different and unique way for education and learning pattern.
    You absolutely nailed it with this kind of tutorial, bravo 🎊🎈
    Hope to see more of these stuff in near future and a continuous teaching on to Gutenberg world

    Love the creativity in the pattern library. These are good finds. I’d love to see if the pattern builder can allow for using the template building blocks so you could build headers, footers, blog layouts, etc. another great video!

    Hey, Jamie! Another great video, my friend. I absolutely love how you dissect these patterns because I learn so much. I do have a question for you. How should one determine which pattern size to download? The default is 960px, but I am wondering about the pros and cons of the other sizes, and how to know which is the "right" choice. I have a hunch you might respond something about the theme we are using, but even then, how does one know what is the better choice. Thanks again, Jamie, for all your hard work on this channel. It is "chef's kiss" the best content I have found on this subject.

      @jamiewp  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Tina - normally you can adjust the pattern width once it's in the editor, so it should really matter what size you initially choose (i think)

      @@jamiewp we just redisgned our website ourselves this time so a BIG thank you for all your videos. Would love to get your feedback if it's not too cheeky 🤣. We would also love to see a video breaking down some of the blocks, like what exactly is a cover, advanced text, group etc

    Fantastic content. You know I don't think that they would have near as many 'negative' reviews of Gutenberg if everybody would just watch your channel. I would actually have put your #20 at the #1 slot, but that could have just been the default images. Thanks as always Jamie, just color me you 65 year old "fanboy". 😆

    If I use a plugin like Kadence Block, would this work?

    • @jamiewp
      @jamiewp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, but you don't need to use any plugin for all of these - you can do with just the core blocks that come with WordPress 👍
