    What your calling a sea bass is actually a begaul they are bottom scavengers and a pain cause they pick your hook clean and spit it out. They have very sharp spines on their dorsel fins so you need a glove or towel to grab them to get the hook out and throw them back. I spent my life on the LI sound. We hailed out of New Rochelle Mamaroneck Cos Cob then yhact haven in Stamford Conn. My dad taught for the power squadron and Coast Guard over many years. It's nice to see a video like this. Brings back great memories. Thx

    I used to fish, too, but like you I just want to observe now. BTW, loved the anchor cam! Thank you!

    Very sad how dead the sound looks down there. Wasn't like that just 40 years ago. It was full of life.

      +SQUALUS MARINE DIVERS yup! I love the map of all the spots that you dive at, it's good for finding fishing spots. I've been subbed for a probably a year and a half now and I always make my friends watch these vids, lol. I love seeing the sound from a different prospective. Keep up the great work!

    A steamship carrying bales of cotton along with 143 passengers and crew caught fire and sunk in the Long Island sound in 1842. Allegedly there were millions of dollars worth of gold and silver on board that were never recovered. Unfortunately it sits at a depth of 140' and is likely under layers of sand and mud by this point.

      @@billf7585 Salvage attempts were made. Thats why it is broken up. I broke when they attempted to lift it.

    Hi, Does the water temperature given in your videos reflect the surface temperature? Can you tell me generally how quickly the water temperature drops as you go deeper? Thanks for the great videos! Enrico

    Always enjoy your videos. What kind of camera are you using for the anchor cam? Was thinking of mounting a Go Pro or something similar on my anchor, not sure how to keep it in place.

    • @squalusmarine
      @squalusmarine  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We placed a camera next to the anchor while we were down there. It isn't mounted.

    7:20 It’s by accident, not on accident. I cringe every time I hear it said wrong.
