Ok so you asked a while back for an explanation of "gamer culture" I scrolled through the comments you replied to and wasnt satisfied, I wasn't here then so I want to give it a shot now. Games are a medium, just like books and TV. As such, they have different genres; horror, mystery, action, etc. just like every other medium. But, as the only interactive medium ever they have one unique genre. Skill based. These tend to not have a story and be all about play, these are your mario cart type games and the like and seem to comprise your entire gaming experience up to this point. As such, asking to explain gaming culture is like asking to explain movie culture, but if i had to put everyone into one category, i would say gamers are people who like to be challenged by their media. I dont mean this in the English professor "this book challenges the reader by using their assumptions blah blah blah". No, I mean the princess will never be saved and the happily ever after will never happen unless you can get your ass past the dragon.
id also like to add that as technology gets better and the appeal is bigger, the cinematic story aspect is getting better but on the downside a lot of the "game" aspect is being watered down to be easily digestible to a broader audience. its a somewhat bittersweet reality where creative vision has to make a compromise with broad appeal in order to balance out the absurd budgets games have nowadays. we have blockbusters like last of us that have relatively simple game systems blowing peoples minds while something like pillars of eternity with its significantly more complex mechanics(albeit old-school) be completely overshadowed. im not saying one is better than the other but just find the evolution of this medium so interesting.

So glad you took a look at this. Try taking a look at the walkthrough, 40 min I think. Really interesting. Oh, by the way just got your book in yesterday. Going to start on it tonight.
So, Cyberpunk will probably have plenty of great stories but mostly a game of 'side stories' in that it's a completely open world game where you create your own character and thus create your own story by playing it and making your own choices. It'll very likely be great to play for ones self but not as great to react to as such.
People who are/were as cool as Keanu Reeves; Betty White, George Burns, Liberace, Jim Henson, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, George Cooney. Those are the ones that jump right into my head. I'm sure there are others, but not as many as there probably should be.
Time for some facts: That female character neeling and getting scratched by a bullet is actually in the game, you can meet here as a police officer, she actually gonna talk to you as well :)
yo the 1st teaser trailer was like 7-8 years ago we've been waiting all this time, it's probably the most anticipated game of all time along with like maybe gta 5 or red dead 2, and it's finally coming out in fall

The amazing thing about C D Projekt Red is that the first Witcher game was THEIR first video Game. A few years later, they got to Witcher 3, The Wild Hunt which won pretty much every award for gaming out there. They put out downloadable content continuing The Geralt of Rivia saga, "Hearts of Stone" and "Blood & Wine" that could be individual games in their own right.Five years after Witcher 3 was put out, people are still buying it and living in that world. They provide games where you don't have to keep buying content that should be in the game you already plonked down 60 bucks for in order to actually win the game. There is some talk of a fourth Witcher game in the works but Geralt's trilogy is over..he may appear in cameos but not as the main character in the next Witcher game....IN THE MEAN TIME...C D P R is putting out a game set in the future and more sci fi than fantasy. If CyberPunk 2077 can do for SciFi what The Witcher did for fantasy games it's gonna be awesome.
Since in your outro you do "May the Force Be With You", you should do a reaction to the cinematic trailers for 'Star Wars - The Old Republic'. The order to watch them is 'Return', 'Hope', 'Deceived', 'Sacrifice', and 'Betrayed'. The first three are for the initial game which came out in 2011, the second two are for the expansions to the game "Knights of the Fallen Empire" and "Knights of the Eternal Throne". The game itself takes place about 3,000 years or so before 'Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope'. The Sith have multitudes of Acolytes, Apprentices, and Lords all vying to become Darths, unlike in the movies where The Rule of Two applies (One to be the Master who has the Power, One to be the Apprentice who craves the Power). It is a huge game that still has a ton of diehard players (like me), it also has probably the best storylines in a game, a total of eight primary storylines. Four for the Republic (Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Republic Trooper, and Smuggler) and four for the Sith Empire (Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Imperial Agent, and Bounty Hunter). Anyway, the stories of the cinematics do have a flow that builds one upon the other, the look incredible, and they make you wish that they would actually do a Star Wars movie with some of the bad-ass stuff that happens in the cinematics. They also can punch you in the gut emotionally. Give them a try. Love the reactions!!!
What's funny is the Keanu Reeves trailer is sort of the story from the game, but in the game it's all first person, you never seen V speak like in this cut scene,. I kind of wish they could have done the in-game stuff like the trailer. :( I think this is one reason everyone was disappointed

Cyberpunk is a dark scfi world created by Mike Pondsmith as a roleplaying game (pen & paper) back in the '80's. Its set in the near future where large corporations have far too much control over everything, money talks, and there are various factions, political squabbles, rebels, mercenaries, 'terrorists', all vying for some way to step up the ladder and or take others down. Cybernetic implants are a fact of life, but if someone with too many impants may lose their grip on sanity/humanity and go on a killing spree. Because of all the augmentation it can be difficult to bring in such cyberpsycho's so there's a special branch of the police force to do that, some are ex cyberpsycho's themselves. Which is what you see in the first video. This video came out a number of years ago back when the game was first announced. As such it is all cinematic, not gameplay and anything shown should be taken with a very large pinch of salt. (Music is 'Bullets' by Archive btw.) I guess you could say the trailer is aspirational, at that time it was what they had in mind for the game. Same as with any game that takes several years to make, over time that vision changed and developed, things were tried and some worked, some didnt, some were cut, some were changed. As the game got nearer to launch what was in the videos should (theoretically) be a nearer match for what is in the final game. But you always have to accept that things may get cut, even quite late in the development cycle. Some things that get cut may be releaed later when they have had more time to work on them, some may not. Cyberpunk had a troubled development cycle so quite a bit got dropped or changed. It was also released too early, (despite several delays,) so there were a lot of bugs in the game, particularly for the console versions. CD Projekt Red do have a history of supporting their games in the longer term with patches, overhauls, DLC and so on, but they have a lot of work to do to fix the game in the short term before they get to paid DLC and any other changes/overhauls that they may have in mind. I suspect that in a couple of years time this will be a very good game to play, but at the moment my advice would be to wait. Its not to say you cant play and enjoy it now, (on PC at least,) but you will have to put up with, know how to deal with a fair number of bugs, minor and not so minor. Given your interest in The Witcher I would suggest starting with that series of games instead.
As for the second video, yes, Keanu's character is in probably two thirds of the game. He's not the nicest person either, although as I mentioned above, Cyberpunk is not really the kind of world where you expect nice people or happy endings. In terms of why you might want to consider playing something like Cyberpunk (when its fixed) as opposed to reading a book or watching a movie, Ive played it through twice, and on both occasions I around 200 hours out of the game. There is the main story and then there are lots of little and not so little side stories, romances and so on. There are different endings, mostly on the gloomy end of the scale it has to be said but all the same. There should be more to explore with DLC later this year or maybe next. In terms of entertainment value, video games can be hard to beat whether what you are after is fast action shooting, story telling or somewhere in between. in some of the more open ended games you can quite literally spend thousands of hours playing over multiple years this is why for some people at least video games have come to be taken as essentially a hobby. Login, play for a couple of hours, and then do something else.
You should watch the 48min Gameplay demo and the Deep-Dive gameplay videos. Would love to see your reactions. Or just wait til the 23rd happens where they'll give you more juicy details about the game

Cyberpunk started as a literary genre, largely spearheaded by William Gibson as a type of forewarning of how he viewed the world going badly downhill in the late 70's to 80's. It is a dystopian future viewpoint and features a few key identifiers: The idea of man and machine blending at a deep level where it's difficult or impossible to distinguish the two. Technology advancing far faster than our ability to understand or adapt to it. National governments losing power to the point of near non-existence while corporate influence rises to the point where they're considered borderless nations of their own. There have been a lot of dives into the subject across many different medium. As you're a Keanu Reeves fan, I recommend the film Johnny Mnemonic (which was one of, if not the first full cyberpunk film). The game Cyberpunk 2077 is part of the Cyberpunk 2013 table top roleplaying game developed by Mike Pondsmith of R. Talsorian Games. Maximum Mike is one of the single best people in table top gaming and was the first (and to my knowledge perhaps still only) black man to head a gaming company that still exists today. He and his family have been at it for decades with dozens of top quality creations. The Cyberpunk RPG is perhaps his greatest creation, with the second edition Cyberpunk 2020 being the longest lasting and still loved versions. It is the world he created that Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in and he is a lead creative developer for the game. A new version of the table top RPG has been released that tells the story between Cyberpunk 2020 and Cyberpunk 2077. It's called Cyberpunk Red and there are videos on TH-cam of Mike Pondsmith running game sessions. The first trailer from 2013 (which was picked as the release year because Cyberpunk 2013 was the first edition of the RPG) shows the result of when the whole man/machine thing goes horribly wrong. The woman with the bulletproof skin and blade arms had so much cybernetics added to her body that she lost her sense of humanity and became what is referred to as a 'cyber psycho'. The cop shown about to shoot her in the back of the head was of a type trained specifically to take down people like her, usually after it was too late to save lives. At the very end of it it showed the woman was still alive and now working as one of those same cops, which is sometimes given as an option to avoid execution. Development of Cyberpunk 2077 was put on hold so CD Projekt: Red could develop The Witcher 3. CDPR and Mike Pondsmith knew that they needed to train programmers, artists, and such in the systems and technology they wanted to REALLY bring CP2077 to life and they did that by using Witcher 3 as the training ground. All the things that make Witcher 3 such an amazing game will exist in bigger, better, and more fully realized ways in CP2077. I'm one of the people who has been anticipating this video game for decades. I've loved and trusted Mike Pondsmith's creative mind for 30 years and CDPR has proven they are more than capable of bringing his world to life.

I heard something about being able to have piercings in the character's no-zone... Like WHAT? REALLY? I mean, nudity in a game, I get. Gender fluidity, I get it, because we should not leave aybody out. Be all-inclusive, that's AWESOME! But THAT HIGH of a degree of customization concerning piercings... This stuff is exactly WHY we have been waiting for this game for YEARS, close to a decade. Some of it is simply overhyped, completely superfluous. It doesn't NEED to be there for the gameplay to be great. Just get the game to us already, it will already be amazing. Let's GO already! It's just never finished...You want stuff like piercings and tattoos, fine, wait for aftermarket mods or DLC. Oh boy, video game cinematics! I love them, although as far as game trailers go they are scorned by gamers as they usually don't show any gameplay and are often misleading. Now I'll give you a list of cinematics I think you should watch, because I'm a random crazy person from the internet that gets way too exited about cinematics. World of Warcraft trailer you watched was from the most recent expansion, I think every single cinematic trailer from WoW (or even Blizzard overall) is worth watching, but "World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Cinematic Trailer" is a classic as far as trailers go. Continuing with Blizzard games new "Diablo 4 - Official Announcement Cinematic Trailer@" is great piece of cinematic as well. For something more about The Witcher the intro cinematic from Witcher 2 "The Witcher 2 - Letho: The return of the kingslayer@" is still a treat to watch. And now for something completely different: "Dead Island: Official Announcement Trailer" is regarded as one of the best and also most misleading game trailers ever created, it's great, but doesn't match game's tone at all. Last one I'd like to introduce is "League of Legends - Cinematic Trailer: A New Dawn", LoL trailers are generally enjoyable and there are many of them! Riot Games also did some great music video-cinematics for League of Legends (for example "Get Jinxed | Jinx Music Video - League of Legends").
most of these are already on my ever growing list of game trailers. If you don't see the ones you want in the next month or so please please message me though my website or on insta (to make sure I see it) with links to the trailers you want me to watch!

Their absolute refusal to include, micro transactions, gambling, etc in their games really pisses of all the other games companies and the fact they LIKE their fans does not help matters. I think you should watch every game trailer existing
Well, my to watch list is VERY long.
I think Keanu Reeves is universally agreed to be the coolest person in the world.
"Yes Baby 🖐️"
It ended up getting pushed back until September of last year. It was, and still is, a buggy mess to this date.
So, Cyberpunk will probably have plenty of great stories but mostly a game of 'side stories' in that it's a completely open world game where you create your own character and thus create your own story by playing it and making your own choices. It'll very likely be great to play for ones self but not as great to react to as such.
That Keanu Reeves reveal was awesome!
The mantis blades look dope too!
So cool.
I can't believe how different the Keanu Reeves intro trailer is compared to the actual game.
People who are/were as cool as Keanu Reeves; Betty White, George Burns, Liberace, Jim Henson, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, George Cooney. Those are the ones that jump right into my head. I'm sure there are others, but not as many as there probably should be.
You should see the official launch trailer of cyberpunk called "V". It's a masterpiece
This was fun to watch.
Thank youuuuu
Time for some facts: That female character neeling and getting scratched by a bullet is actually in the game, you can meet here as a police officer, she actually gonna talk to you as well :)
Definitely came out before it was ready.
I think youd love more Overwatch animated shorts! My personal favorites are "The Last Bastion" and "Zero Hour"
They are on my list!!
yo the 1st teaser trailer was like 7-8 years ago we've been waiting all this time, it's probably the most anticipated game of all time along with like maybe gta 5 or red dead 2, and it's finally coming out in fall
Those are on my watch list too.
Three days to go for cyberpunk 2077
14 years of graphics improvements, all so we can properly digitize Keanu.
Thank you Hannah for being over invested🔥🔥💯

Yes, Sense8 was a show. If I didn't suspect your to-watch list to be pretty long already, I would definitely suggest to watch at least the first 2-3 episodes and see if it grabs you. I'll stick my neck out and say it was the first good thing the Wachowskis did after the first Matrix.

Just taking the world by storm, they are.
Star wars is definitely on my list! The only problem is my list is 8 pages long so it's taking me a while to get to them.
What's funny is the Keanu Reeves trailer is sort of the story from the game, but in the game it's all first person, you never seen V speak like in this cut scene,. I kind of wish they could have done the in-game stuff like the trailer. :( I think this is one reason everyone was disappointed

@@HannaHsOverInvested yeah i know its a lot. But i think if you want to look at some Gemeplay instead of trailers only, this ia a great place to start, especially if you like cd project red
Login, play for a couple of hours, and then do something else.
all the while wtching these reaction videos , i couldn't help but wonder how beautiful you look... the facination in these eyes are priceless

I enjoy your reaction videos to games. I would like to suggest you do a video on Resident Evil Biohazard..... Maybe even record yourself playing it for the first two hours. It really makes you feel like you're in the game
And did you like it?
And now it is soon going to launch
the game engine footage in the bottom corner of this trailer is a lie, this is a cgi video. the game did not look this good
CD Projekt Red has only 2 game storys, Witcher 1-2-3 and Cyberpunk, but he'll they know what they are doing like Rockstar games
They both look amazing!

If you enjoyed this... You might consider watching the gameplay demo. It's basically an extended trailer. No, Keanu is not in it, unfortunately. But it shows the game from a female character perspective. And if it wasn't for the occasional developer narration that reminds you that you are watching a game, it feels like you are watching a movie. It is so cool. th-cam.com/video/vjF9GgrY9c0/w-d-xo.html

Cd Projekt Red is the games company that gives all other games companies a bad name. Their absolute refusal to include, micro transactions, gambling, etc in their games really pisses of all the other games companies and the fact they LIKE their fans does not help matters. And don't forget story, they really love making stories, which they then add a game to. Not many games where you feel bad killing the monsters.
