I’ve enjoyed all your vlogs, but this one stands out a bit more. Seeing you interact with locals and showing us a bit of their culture (meals, drinks, art, etc.) it’s part of your journey that I’m excited to follow along for the years to come.

That’s great man glad you got to try the Argentinian experience of eating asado, asador was very knowledgeable and the way he explained everything was perfect. I knew from the last video you were going to have some asado 😅😂

While I respect the vegan decisions I would have been amazed if you went through Argentina without having steak. Glad you enjoyed it. Loving the journey can't wait to see more

What an amazing experience, mi amigo. For a foreigner to try the homemade Argentinean asado, is already an incredible experience, so I can imagine it for someone vegetarian or vegan... And I understand that the textures are somewhat strange, as many of the cuts are the insides of the animal. It's all about being part of such a rich moment of their culture, with the smells, landscapes, drinks, people and their stories, etc. Thanks for trying and for sharing it.

I’ve been vegetarian for seven years and recently a chicken again for the first time after breaking my ankle… After watching this video I just sent my boyfriend down the street to get me an organic steak lol… not sad about it thanks Ryan!

Good on you Ryan. You have found some amazing people who are sharing a piece of their lives with you and you are putting yourself out there. Experiences of a lifetime. You most likely will be the only person someone meets who has had gizzards and intestines in a remote part of Argentina, even if it is the last time you ever eat them ;).

When u get to Peru or further north u should try Guinea Pig. Go for it. You’re a true carnivore now🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I have to ask Ryan after so long without meat did you feel a difference in you physical self after? In your digestion and out the other side lol.
I personally notice a lot of difference on how certain foods digest and how they make me feel from energetic, bloated or sluggish.
Just interesting to see your perspective after abstain from meat for so long.

Mate tastes like a bitter tea. It's pretty delicious actually, I drink it almost every morning or after lunch and has a lot of caffeine, even more than coffee. It does have an earthy taste, but delicious nevertheless. 100% recommend to try with someone who knows how to prepare it, it has a way to be served so if you get to try it with someone who drinks daily you'll get to enjoy it like it's supposed to otherwise you may not get the proper taste.

La yerba mate tiene muchas propiedades y es excelente para la digestión. Un mate bien preparado es delicioso, siempre hay que saber graduar la temperatura 75 a 80 grados no más, porque se quema la yerba y puede ser horrible. Saludos de Bs As Argentina

Hola Ryan.

As an Argentinian, I am a bit annoyed at your hosts. They know glands and intestines is an acquired taste, and instead of giving you a tiny bit to try and say it’s not for everyone, they forced you to eat tons of it and enthusiastically asked if you like it 🤦‍♂️ for your first bit I’d have given you sausage or the actual beef. Hope you have some more along your journey and get to try a few different cuts etc.

Quit calling it meat and call it what it is: the flesh of an innocent animal. Have a thought for the pain and suffering the animal you're eating would have felt before they were killed. These are animals as sentient and intelligent as your dog. Please find love and compassion and don't promote flesh eating 🙏

Riquisimo comer MEAT, es decir: CARNE. I mean let's say: CARNE, flesh of an animal. The more CARNE I eat, the better. CARNE CARNE CARNE y mas CARNE. Casi diariamente COMO CARNE (also known as MEAT). The crispness of cow flesh when cooked; yum... so absurdly tasty. Full of protein and juices. Meat made humans great. 🥩.

Ryan, you're getting a little sloppy lately. First, all this trouble with not having the papers in order for Pati (although that is not really your fault), next having it seem like you have to leave her for longer periods alone with strangers, then not researching visa requirements, and now abandoning your vegan filosophy. I presume you lived a vegan lifestyle for the animals' sake so I don't need to remind you that it is way harder for the animals than for you not eating them.
I completely understand you wanting to try a cultural experience like this one now you have the experience and met some, seemingly, genuinely nice people to shre the experience with. When i travelled Argentina (before realising I am vegan), I enjoyed a very similar experience at an asado, and it was really cool. I don't think I'd do it again if I had the chance agan for the first time, knowing what I know now.
In short, you don't have to answer to anyone about your choices, but being a little more organized on your requirements when traveling wouldn't hurt. And eating a non-vegan meal once doesn't mean you can't go back to a vegan lifestyle after that one meal. The animals would thank you for it being only a one-time slip 🌱

      @@s550days Likewise :)
Also, read the introduction to the last paragraph starting: "In short, you don't have to answer to anyone about your choices (...)". I think my comment was very understanding and reflective of the video and what it means to be a vegan, let alone for six years.
If I were to change my entire moral foundation, I would appreciate it if someone questioned it just as much as they did when I became vegan. It doesn't work only one way. Going from minimizing harm to animals to the largest extent possible to actively pursuing options to eat them is a quite radical change and it should be questioned (and met with a degree of openness which my comment did).

Vegan here. First time I see your videos. I just saw some shorts. I wanted to keep watching them until I saw vegan and eating meat in the title and I thought he must be joking. Sorry, I couldn't watch the whole video. I'm sorry for the animal you ate.
You're not vegan, mate. Maybe you're trying to follow a vegan diet (which you couldn't follow) but if you are deliberately eating an animal and you're not trapped in a life or death situation in the middle of nowhere where you can't get any food then you can't call yourself vegan.
Vegans don't eat any animal from time to time not even after years, not even when travelling. Not consciously at least. If you do then you stop being a vegan. That's for sure.
I personally would have preferred you said you were an omnivore. It would have made more sense.
Good luck with your trip though. I hope one day you can be honest and stop calling yourself vegan or maybe become a real vegan in the future with all the ethical implications that veganism has. The most important one is: Don't eat animals!!!
