FINALLY a band that is playing it as fast as it's supposed to be. We're playing it for my band right now and it took forever to find a recording that wasn't slow as fuck
Samuel Hazo(As i hypothesize) usually does his work in sequels etc. Using one structure or idea per arrangement or per "Story"...Ride and Arrow also have a "Lick" in common. It's all linked.
To me, this piece reminds me of Topgun even though I've never really heard the soundtrack but the piece does convey an airforce theme very well. Its obviously an advanced fanfare and would be great for an airforce band if the military has one.
This is the kind of piece that should be played in the queue of Thunderbird at Holiday World! I mean, the timpani solo at 2:12 perfectly resembles thunder!
that's great that you have a band that can play harder music like this. My band has like 25 people so we're stuck playing easy stuff (grade 1.5/2) all the time. At least I have honor bands though.
i love playing this song in band ! it's one of my favorites out of all the songs we play ! we're getting ready to play this song and i play the bells so ya i love it so much ! 😻😻😻😻😻
His music is prime for marching band arrangements
GFH3FHHS thats what my band used it for! 😁 brings back memories...
Georgia Bridgemen 2018 ‘Up in the Air’
The percussion in this song is SPOT on! I can tell the timpani part was made by someone who loves busy timpani parts(like me).
hazo himself is a percussionist

I agree. I pulled up the spotify version and.... God it's soooo sloooooww.
Samuel hazo REALLY likes his mixed meter. It's almost as bad as havendance.
ride and rush are more mixed than havendance :)
sevens is really easy LOL
The beginning of Ride tho lmfao
Look up undercurrents, it has 119 time signature changes
I just played Havendance and now I’m playing Ride
I could imagine this being played at an Olympics games opening ceremony
2:30 where they slow down brings all the feels , especially that trumpet 👏😭
This and ride sound like they would fit perfectly in a JRPG game.
Getting Twilight Princess vibes from them.
It's great how the song immediately gets to the action.
BRO, THE FRENCH HORNS AND ALTO SAXES AT THE END HIT DIFFERENTLY
The mallet part is a nightmare... But still fun :D
Matthew LeFebvre I played it it was so fun
It just looks like fast scales which isn't really hard if you practice
It’s not hard just super fun
its not too bad now i've looked at it but i tried to sight read when we first got it... not good
I memorized the xylo parts for this song becuase it was easier for me, especially I really enjoyed this music.
I like it but it sounds extremely close to Ride and Rush
agreed
Rush was a sequel to Ride, and this is a sequel to Rush, it's a trilogy
Samuel Hazo(As i hypothesize) usually does his work in sequels etc. Using one structure or idea per arrangement or per "Story"...Ride and Arrow also have a "Lick" in common. It's all linked.
I think it’s basically a trilogy, it’s no coincidence they all start with sixteenths played by the whole band
this is the third of a trilogy. first was ride, then rush, and then in flight, completing the trilogy
the half time throws me off every single time
lmao I've been playong this in class and I do triangle but everyone else was complaining about it XD
Is this a live recording? I can hear an applause at the end.

This music is so hard..... especially, timpani part is almost nightmare...
My hand is breaking now....
Oh yeah playing this right now in my high school band
I played this my first year in concert band
omgg i played this today as my first piece :3
This is the score inside my sister's marching band.
Loving that Timpani Part!
How I love the French horn part😍
THE ENDING ✨️✨️✨️
Imagine arranging this for marching band. :-O
Russell Wright Mira Mesa high school 2017, 1st movement’s got a lot of in flight
The fact that Canticum By James Curnow can clearly be heard in the slower lyrical section of the piece lol...
Man I knew that part sounded familiar........
love it!
This was the first piece we played in high school band in my freshman year

Lucky
my freshman year we played Scootin On Hard Rock and it was fantastic
me too! I'm on oboe
We played this in our Junior College Wind Symphony in Spring 2017 boy was it fun. xD
Fitting end to the trilogy. Just wish its name was a four letter word beginning with R.
In a different world it would’ve been Ride, Rush, Run
FINALLY!!!
we played this song
This should be the new Superman Theme for Superman Legacy
Played this my 7 grade year!
very nice!
So quick!
1:16 nice percussion break
Those flute parts look scary
Jerry Boy boi

Yo play this at a USAF military wedding
I can go or stay...I have friends who are making themselves available.. let me know..
Personal practice points:
0:43
1:02
