He just needed one person in his life to tell him he was perfect the way he was, but instead he got attacked and felt he had to conform to stupid things like getting the unattractive chin implants.
Truthfully, I doubt that a single person would be enough when it came to the multitude of people trashing him about. One person telling him that he's beautiful wouldn't even remotely compare to the thousands that beat him down. That's not to say that it was only a single person who was kind to him, but the ratio is drastically different, and so is how people take positivity and negativity.

Nathan Lopez I absolutely agree that Michael had already had some work done between Off the Wall and Thriller. But, in my opinion, that first bit of work was subtle, and impressively believable. He still looked masculine, yet had an attractive rhinoplasty, like Marilyn Monroe and many stars had made minor alterations. It was just after Thriller, around the release of We Are the World, that he started looking like a very odd man, indeed. I understand that he was a perfectionistic and highly self-conscious man, and I don’t judge him for it. But 1985 was the beginning of his pixie-like look, with the pointed and upturned nose, with elfin ears seeming to appear soon after though, at the time, I attributed those to hairstyle or something else, possibly. By the Bad era, MJ seemed to have a feminized appearance which, along with the pixie look, grew more pronounced over the years. I believe that early in the history of African American facial surgery becoming popular, the medical establishment botched many of its clients, and used a racist facial ideal to recommend work for many people who were already beautiful. However, Michael’s early plastic surgery was quite well done. Later, I believe that his true body dysmorphia became evident, but not before a lot of underqualified and unscrupulous doctors took his money (or perhaps one doctor performed unethically, over and over again), feeding his insecurity for their own gain. Elizabeth Taylor tried to tell him the surgeries had to stop, and so the doctors should have. @@brittaolson6550 well look at him during We Are the World in January 1985 and then again A year later receiving a Grammy for the song his skin is much lighter he looks noticeably different at that time in 86 I believe he had another nose job tattoo permanent eyeliner and the cleft added to his chin the result of that is what you see on the bad album cover that look lasted up until mid 91 because if you look at pictures of him with Madonna at the Oscars in early 91 fast forward to November 1991 the Black or White video big difference then by 1992 he could no longer hide the vitiligo he had much more surgery done during the 80s not so much in the 90s although his upper lip did look different in late 2000 early 2001 then in mid 2002 he almost looks normal again like he did in the 90s from what I heard from the time he died and you could kind of see it he was trying to reverse things and almost make himself look like he looked in the past at least in my eyes

He could have said some back handed compliment about how he looked better before his surges but people often forget about the Pepsi burns lupus and numerous other diseases he had contracted. Ummm people usually get surgery either to fix something (broken nose, broken leg, emergency surgery type situations) but other do it to hide what they don’t like cuz they aren’t confident. In addition to the plastic surgery/surgeries, the vitiligo also causes ones features to change as well. With that in mind, I don't think he had as many surgeries as people think that he did. The crazy thing is I never knew that he had lupus. Awww man - I had no idea that MJ was dealing with all of that. He was such a tormented, talented, beautiful soul.

Wow I'm an MJ fan and I'm very critical when people talk about his surgeries, but this was a great breakdown, and you didn't make fun of him at all, very fair/accurate, this is exactly what I tell people. 4 rhinoplasties, chin dimple, a few minor nose repairs because of lupus, some botox/filler and burn surgeries. Only things I don't agree with are brow lift, lip surgery and cheek implants. Brows are just drawn higher, lips got tattooed lipstick, and he always had those cheeks. It was really just the nose, a minor change to the chin, wigs, makeup/tattooed makeup, aging, weight loss, and vitiligo which made him look the most different. This is honestly the best video about his appearance.
