Another good Video Dodger, Great to see a different Perspective of the Battlefield! Try reading "Voices from the Past" Waterloo 1815 By John Grehan.

I'm really pleased that you are finding something in the films to enjoy. Thanks very much for watching Baz. I shall add that book to the word document I am keeping with all the reading suggestions I am receiving. Just ordered a title yesterday through Amazon entitled "The French at Waterloo: Eyewitness accounts: Napoleon, Imperial Headquarters and 1st Corps by Andrew Field.

Hi Dodger another book you may be interested in is On The Fields of Glory " the Battlefields of the 1815 Campaign" by Andrew Uffindell &Michael Corum this book does include more details about the Prussians and their own struggle in reaching Waterloo although unknown to me Bulcher was adamant on getting to Plancenoit and not Mont-st -jean. the book does include many maps and photos etc. another good read. And thanks to you Dogger I have now dug out all my books on the subject and have started reading them again.. thoroughly enjoyed this walk with you

I am pleased that you enjoyed the film Paul and that it had inspired you to dig out your books. Thank you for the book suggestion, it sounds just the sort of thing that I will enjoy reading. I have added it to my list. I am buying three titles then reading them before buying more but I'm keeping a word document to keep track as I've had quite a few books suggested to me.

@@DodgersTrips thanking you for the reply and I have also now started looking at the book recommendations that your viewers have given there are so many books on this subject especially waterloo some are very biased but not enough from a French prospective but have enjoyed the video's and are very envious of you for doing the tour. by the way the book On The Fields of Glory at the back of this book it lists the various Museums at Waterloo with opening times etc and also advises to buy a ticket at the wellington museum so that you don't have to buy individual tickets to each attraction which is useful but the prices and times may have changed since the book was published.

You know I remember something being asked about what type of ticket I wanted at the battlefield museum but can't remember what that was. They may have been asking if I wanted a ticket to cover more than the museum, the mound and Hougoumont and maybe there was a ticket to cover Ferme du Caillou and Musee Wellington. I knew I would get to Genappe but wasn't sure if I was going to get to Waterloo. As it was there was nobody at Caillou and there were a couple leaving the Musee Wellington as I arrived so had that to myself too. My visit was on the back of not reading anything for decades so I am making up for lost time now. Just got three books: "The Anatomy of Glory: Napoleon and his Guard", "Napoleon's Immortals: The Imperial Guard and its Battles 1804 - 1815" & "The French at Waterloo: Eyewitness Accounts: Napoleon, Imperial Headquarters & 1st Corps". I could really have done with another day at the battlefield. There is so much I've discovered since getting back that I would have liked to have seen. However, it gives me a reason to return one day. I think I said in one of the videos I would like to go back in June but having thought about it since I think I would prefer to go off-peak purely because I could lose myself on the battlefield (despite the heavy traffic).

@@DodgersTrips sounds a grand day out and I don't blame you for going off peak when you have more time for yourself, may be one day I may return before I get to old but thanks for the reply and good luck and enjoy your new books and yes I have the Anatomy of glory and the last book I bought was Napoleon the great by Andrew Roberts, But to many books out there I have either not read or bought .

Thanks for your suggestion Tony. I really would like to get this but unfortunately the ones that I have come across are in excess of £100. A few people have recommended this to me so I will keep looking for a cheaper copy as it seems it is highly rated.
