I had this dish damn near everyday while i was deployed to Afghanistan. The chefs we had on our camp were native and they made traditional food daily. Such a tragedy what’s going on there currently

Thank you for this video. I loved having this dish in eastern Afghanistan when I served there with the US Army. I loved the hospitality of the Pasthun People. Even when we did not get along, we could at least break bread and have Tea together to speak about issues. If I ever get the chance, I want to go back to Orgun and Paktika on a peacefull holliday and pay my respects to the places I've trampled.
In India there are lot of Afghans and luckily in my neighbourhood me and my family are trying to help them in the best way we could. It's not the time to blame and judge , rather we should all come together and help them in the best way we can.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great thing that you are creating awareness about the situation, but speaking to a state representative and expecting the US government or any Western government to do something about is not realistic. They're the same reason there's chaos there and why there has been chaos there for the last 20 years.
That's not true, calling your state rep or senator is one of the most effective ways to effect policy. They obviously can un-destroy all the places we've messed up but they can absolutely make it easier to seek asylum.
It's a bigger geopolitical problem in Afghanistan that's not just restricted to Afghanistan. The US has it's own interest in mind and it won't care what happens to the Afghani people if it conflicts with it's interests. So regardless of what senate you go to or what representative you speak to, capitalism will dominate the final outcome of the governments decision.
