wow, that is just amazing and surprising! didnt see them making something like this, but im happy they did! It fits nicely with my rewatch marathon. I have just one movie left, and thats ofc Return of the king. Its truly a new experience watching these movies in the "newly" released blu-ray remake of them. cant remember last time I had such a blast watching these movies!

And Jerry's artwork to complement the new Weta piece is just gorgeous! I wish I could afford either or both! Gotta win that lottery... 😁
Sort of unexpected they went with this but I love it! I thought they would be doing inside Mount Doom but after thinking about it this makes a lot of sense. They didn't want to again repeat Gollum/Frodo/Sam and I couldn't see how they'd be able to pull off the inside of a mountain. The details on Gwaihir look incredible. Hopefully we get a good price.
That’s amazing! The size and price I’m sure will limit how many are sold. Not too many realistically have room to display a piece that large. However I would so get the print!
I was sort of hoping more for a Frodo, Sam, and Gollum on Mt. Doom piece, but the more I look at this, the more amazed I am. Between Jerry's artwork and Gary's sculpting these are both top tier works of art in the respective mediums. Amazing job well done to everyone involved!
The sculpture looks 'ok' to me. I have the same with the Smaug sculpture. It looks very detailed and i appreciate the craftsmanship. But for me, its giving...'themepark'/ 'promo-stand-during-red-carpet-premiere'-vibes. A bit 'gauche'. Man, i sound like a snob😅 But it's the painting for me! its a bit in the style of that wonderful artist from Turkey who was on this channel, once. This painting is Beautiful! The colours are bright, yet muted. I could imagine that as a freshly painted fresco on the walls in Elrond's study.
Nothing to do with the content of the video, but I really appreciate you naming the workshop properly i.e. wētā and weta have COMPLETELY different meanings in te reo Māori.
Just make sure you're sitting down when they spring the shipping charge on you like they did with the Dead Marshes. A couple drinks might help lessen the shock.
