ok so, i listened to the whole album yesterday and holy crap is it amazing. i’ve never listened an album that tells such a beautiful and enthralling story, and you can bet i was crying by the end of it lol. i have so many questions, and i would ADORE a video that’s just like doing an in depth analysis on the whole story LMAO, but it’s also fun relistening and making my own interpretation of what’s being told. that’s when you know you’ve really been hooked.
My expert analysis. Includes spoilers! 1. The Drought - shit's on fire here, we need some rain!! AHH why sun why!? 2. The Fox and the Bird - we doing this thing? Time to go save the world~ 3. The Raccoon (and the Myth) - oh sh*t a talking raccoon! Ok so we just bring all the quest items (skin from dying snake, feather from stupidass bird, claw from mad bear, tooth from starving diva crocodile) to the tippy top of the mountain, that should do the trick. We think. Hm hope we don't die... 4. The Journey - we're off on a whirlwind adventure! 5. The Snake - f*ck off I'm dying here!!! fine take my skin, but you guys suck and your quest sucks!! boooo hisssssss lmao 6. The Nightmare - damn this is scary 7. The Falcon - We're flyyyyying! Hey, thanks for the feather! ~pan flute~ 8. The Dream - We're really doing it :') We're going to save the world 9. The Bear - AHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHH! No way I'm helping you nerds with your nerd quest, go to hell! ~snarling~ 10. The Crocodile - You guys look tasty... You wanna play a game? Om nom nom nom see if you can grab--HEY that's MY TOOTH!! ~chomping, thrashing~ 11. The Bird - ~dies~ [everyone cries] 12. The Mountain - RUUUUUUUUUUN! Fox sprints to the finish line pursued by the bear, brings it home for the team 13. The Rain - It actually worked! :') Love you Bird~

Found this album through spotify and gave it a try. I usually listen to some music and scroll through my phone before bed. Couldn't sleep after this, I was so surprised and facsinated by what I was listening to. The entire album is golden and tells a story. I enjoyed each and every song and now I'm listening to your older works. This band fucking rocks.
I know right? I'm so spoiled by this album, people just don't make a story out of their songs like this! They just spew lyrics out and move onto the next song. This band is such a welcoming breath of fresh air in that regard. SOMEBODY thought long and hard about this album and what they wanted out of it.
The compound time throughout made me uncomfortable in a way music doesn't normally make me, perfectly capturing the creepiness of a snake. Yall deserve so many more fans!
I love the deep red lighting. I gotta say you guys make acoustic piano work so well for the energy of metal, and the laughter at the very end summed up the energy of the song in a cool way.
Mine was the bear. Just think about it: a tiny bird and a fox, going up against a fucking bear, and a rabid one from the sound of it. Regardless of subspecies, a bear is a mound of muscle, teeth and fury. They regularly root up trees, sometimes just for the fun of it! And they could easily one shot a scrawny thing like a fox, let alone a bird. Doesn't matter what species or weight or size, that poor avian is getting put in the dirt if they get hit. And that's not accounting in the heavily implied notion that it's rapid, it would bulldoze through anything and everything in its path! And yet imagine the sheer amount of courage and perseverance it would take to survive a force of nature like that, let alone win!
Man, not a single miss. The song is great. Instrumentation is fantastic, the lyrics hit as always, the music video while simplistic adds a nice touch, harmonization is dope, and Casey's vocals are just... I don't know how she does it. I don't know how the band in general keeps being refreshing, but I greatly appreciate it. Got to admit, liking the style of dance here too. Casey, really knows how to grab attention.

The way The Snake talks of being Death is something that, to me, serves to prove that The Fox died in The Crocodile, as opposed to The Bird dying. The Snake says that death becomes them. and in the album art, the Snake lays between the Fox's feet. unlike the bird, positioned above the mountain

I really wish they add lyrics (both on the apple music and on TH-cam) so I can follow the song. Without reading the lyrics, it all just sound gibberish. I needed to use a separate app or device to read the lyrics while listening to the song, which is doable, but not preferable. Definitely hard trying to follow through while watching an amazing music video like this. It's either read the lyrics while listening to the song, or watch Casey sing with her amazing expressions. Being profoundly deaf sucks sometimes. Anyway, love this song, can't wait to hear more of your songs!
