Gorgeous! Please do the repot in camera- you have inspired me to go outside my comfort zone. I would love this but do not have conditions at this time so will live vicariously through yours 😃🤪🥰
Thanks Trish - I will do. I'm hoping I have exactly the right conditions - so if this works I'll be getting a few more. They're small, interesting, unusual - what's not to like? 😬
Medusa has a complex history. She is most widely known from the Roman author Ovid as being a beautiful maiden that was cursed by the goddess Athena when she was taken (I won't say the other r word) by Poseidon in the Temple of Athena where she was a priestess. The legend of the gorgon is actually older than this, originating in Greek mythology. Medusa was one of three gorgon sisters (Stheno and Euryale being the other two) that pre-date the Greek gods, daughters of the Titans Typhus and Echidna. Despite their hideous appearance, they were irresistible to men and were born to punish (read: kill) them. Greek mythology is tragic and bloody, I'm not going to pretend that isn't why I like it. Anyway, good luck with it. There are some cooler growing species which might work for you as well.
Ah interesting stuff! Personally I'm more drawn to the achievements of the Ancient Romans than Greek mythology. I have to admit though, there's something erotically alluring about being seduced by an irresistible maiden, and then slaughtered. I can think of worse ways to go. Not sure about the snake hair though - could dampen one's ardour somewhat.🤣

Isn't it unique? The other blooms are opening now. I'll post some pics on my Instagram once they're fully open. 😬

Nice addition to your greenhouse Geoff, looking forward to see the repotting. Happy growing Buddy.
It's unusual isn't it Mick? I might get more if I manage to revive it in spring. That's not a given of course...😳🤷♂️🤣
I’m sure you’ll manage Geoff I’ve got every confidence in you. Yes it looks very unusual.
