I would not update any higher than 5.1,,,the way they do these operating systems is the higher you go up in version the more it will be working for someone else rather than you the owner,as in background services,and also I would only flash firmware if not working,and update from within Os

@@pwhales264 Well that depends,,if it is made for your box,then yes,if it is a random android rom then no,,,within the rom/firmware specific device drivers are found,,unlike with windows operating system...so if you have a custom rom that is made for your box,and your box has amlogc cpu yes

hey bro if you can find a couple of usb cables,cut ends so that you have two male connectors ,separate wires and match each color together ,black black white white blue blue green green and should be a bare wire match that with bare wire,,I bought my cable at the dollar store but have made a few when I could not locate it ,do not give up

i have t95z max that is dark and refuses to restore using the reset button via the a\v input. when i open the rockchip batch tool, the box is not recognized. do i need to short the nand chip? and if so...which pins?

Hey no worry bro just a bump in the road,which box do you have,and which android version came stock,,where there is a will there is a way,and we will find the way,if you got the will,,,,85% of the time these can be fixed very easy,though sometimes a different approach is needed,and I have been on android since before it was even released,so I have learned a couple of things,hopefully will help ya out

could you offer some advice, I have a MX aml 8726 v1.1 and tried to put an updated firmware on it, that didn't work at all and now it's bricked with no display. I have found the Matricom firmware that worked before but it's not in .IMG format and USB burning tool doesn't recognise the firmware. the toothpick method isn't working either.

The reason I ask is that I have plugged it into 3 different USB ports on my laptop without pressing the reset and without the supply lead in the android box and not heard the recognition tune. Do I in fact need the supply lead? i suspect that my laptop does not have a USB2 port. Is this important and is there a way around this without having to buy another laptop? If after you Flash ,and wifi does not work,even though you have right firmware,go into system settings on box and do a factory reset from settings,and wifi should now work ,,also check time and date in settings,if still not working ,wrong firmware,you are getting closer keep trying and you will find the right firmware,and you got it
In a bit of a pickle with my MXQ 4k . Got it a week ago and heard something rattling around inside. The reset button isn't attached. i think nothing of it as box was working fine. One week later i need to flash the box as it freezes right after restarting into the main menu. But can not flash if i cant access the menu after reset. any ideas?
Ok try this if you would,,unplug box for an hour,,and plug box in go to system settings in box and go to backup restore,and restore deleting all apps and info,,and let me know ,,if it can we will get it.
in that write up it didn't say anything about combining the firmware with the mac_ether.ini file together in the same license folder. It only said to place the ini file included into the license folder if you had issues flashing the box.
perhaps in the write up,which is why there is a video,the write up is only to cover anything I may have missed in the video,in which what you speak of is in the video,and also it does say place Files into folder ,it does not say place file into folder,you are totally wrong in what you say,read it again

I have a Cubetek 4k android box. Once during the hard reset, the power
cut was interrupted due to which it was not fully reset. Then when the

What if you get a firmware downloaded from china gadgets that doesn't contain just the .img file, but all the SD card files?
They have a few different format types when it comes to Android images/firmware,different types for different methods,,which box do you have and which version of android came stock,,now you should know that you cannot update your firmware on your box,the most you can do is return your box back to stock.

And also while flashing throug your method the android box cannot be connected to the usb burning tool. Only a sound and slught blue colour. Hi daniel i got the same box and when i connect it via ethernet cable it works then the connection goes away i unplug the cable ou and back in and it works again ive tried 2 different cables both do the same does the box need to be flashed ??
You can try this 1 check that the date and time are set correctly on your box,,,if that is ok,you can try plugging in cable and then reset your router with the box plugged in and on.
I cannot start my tv box as it is Stuck at boot logo & I suspect the sd card or operating system is corrupted & need to be formatted or updated to a newer firmware 😩😩😩
All you can do is flash original firmware,if you try to use firmware other than original,it will not work at all.

I have a 2 MXQ Pro 4K S95W V2.0 1 takes the flash, and it shows the logo and then the tv says No Signal nothing happens after that and if I take power cable off and put it again it don't show the logo again even the blue light is on and I can turn off and on the box using the remote. the other one has a red light and when flashing it gives the 7% error. I do not know what factory software they had. I being trying for months on and off fallowing different tutorials but no luck yet. Here is the thing about what you are trying to do,flashing firmware is mainly for restoring stock firmware,,if one is to try and update newer firmware they will find that the box becomes unusable,and the reason for that is that the newer firmware is made for newer hardware,which an older android box would not contain,which is why they fail....I will try and help you recover your android box,,1 do you know which version of Android came stock on it? 2 How long have you owned the box? 3 when did it first mess up ?

when you say not connected you mean not connected to the t.v. but you have to have it plugged in with power right?
At that point at which I say not connected,no wires or connection cable connected at all,at that point you would start program,load firmware,and start process,then you would connect usb cable while holding reset button in,no power cable or hdmi cable is to be connected throughout this process

I opened the box, it have cirkulation but problem is still there. Maybe i need to change paste, it was weird to me that thoes not stick, it should stick in contact with air i think. Box is less than one year old, worked maybe 6 months.
One of the problems I noticed long ago about these android tv box's is that they never shut down,,they stay in a standby mode which is basically on without display,which is why I unplug mine when it is not being used ,,,,should only need a small thin layer on graphics chip and cpu,,,it should stick but it is not glue.
If after you flash ,maybe wifi or ethernet does not work you will need to correct the time and date in settings,if still does not work try a different firmware ,the correct one will work perfectly as long as the specs meet everything will work,like you cant use a firmware for a box that has 10 gb memory if you have a 5 gb,,

well what you are looking for is X96Plus ,,stick to that and the original android version that came on your box stock.

Does it matter the number on the chip? what I can read on the top is SDTNGAMA 0086. There are other letters and numbers on it.

My box is resetting date and time. When I set to get the settings from network, it set the region to china, and finally it fails - the time and date still are wrong.
You will have to set manually ,and make sure the box does not lose power,or you will have to set time and date again.
@@DanielJurcichHeyou this is exactly the case. I configure the box to manual settings and the box doesn't loose the power. But after a while the date time settings get wrong instead. Sometimes when I turn the box off using remote (sleep mode) it wakes up by itself.
Try this reset your modem and reset your router,and set the time and date to automatic on your box.let me know if that helps

will this work even if the lights do not come on ? I have an MXQ 4K box after I plugged it in, it worked for a short time then the screen went green and the blue light went out
That light does not matter,,on my box the light stopped working the next day,but the box works great,,,and I find that the light was very intrusive to my vision and I did not mind that it stopped working,,,but yes this will work for you

Sure ok ,first with a factory reset your device has to fully function to do a factory reset ,and a factory reset consist of returning your device to when you first got it new which removes any apps you put on it and removes your information from memory of the box,,,,now with flashing firmware ,it will do the same thing as a reset ,but flashing firmware is for recovery only ,,as in when your box won't work and will not let you reset because the device will not work at all,,,,,often others attempt to update their android os version by flashing newer firmware,which results in their device stops working,because the newer android version is made for a newer box and the device drivers do not match what they have in their box,,,So remember this , to flash firmware only use the version of android that came on your box ,,the thing to look for if you are going to flash it,,is first search by the name on the box ,then only choose the one with same android version
Hi I have an MXQ Amlogic S805 stuck on boot logo. I factory reset and 1 week later AGAIN. So I want to flash it but no matter which FW I download it's a zip file with a recovery.img file in it and it gives me a parse error. Tried a bunch.. all do the same.

Actually ,,that is not possible,that box is stuck with 4.4.2,,one thing to understand about these android tv box's ,is this,rather than create an update to your box they decided to create a whole new box with all different hardware to go with the latest android os ,,any company that does create updates will charge you at the time of purchase for that update it is tied into the price of the box,,for example a n android box that cost 40 bucks,,will not update,,but a box that cost 80 to 100 bucks will update at least one time,,but here is the thing,the box that can update,will be running on outdated hardware,but have a newer android os than original,,so the trick is not to spend more than 40 bucks,and to sell it later and put the money on a new box,,buy for 40 sell for 25,and it should only cost you 15 to 20 bucks each time to stay up to date on android operating system
