I noticed in the workbench there were some gold tools, so I think the gold is not just to sell.
I like this, so far. Interesting how intuitive the play seems. Nothing to hate, so far, and lots to like. I'd like to see some more episodes, please!

The first enemy he attacks is a cassowary. The most dangerous bird on the planet. He survives. This game needs to fix that.

When he said "is that a turkey?" And looked up and I saw the cassowary I was totally expecting it to one hit kill him because yano, most dangerous bird on the planet lol, and it didn't, damn that needs to get fixed 😂
Okay so be warned, be careful with how and where you place things cause if you need to remove anything you're gonna have to destroy it, and sadly you won't get the resources back. Secondly, once you get a supply of metals and such the trader becomes entirely useless. Lastly be very careful with some of the animals that are around, some of them do tons of damage and will almost not stop chasing you, but you can escape anything that's on land by running into the water.
So just an update to my post 2 hours ago about Eden Island. I played it for those two hours and found that there were toooooo many animals (pandas, elephants, kangaroos), just too much for a small island. Made a Scythe and killed most of them 😅 Also made a lighthouse which is only to view the horizon hahaha. Its very easy to play but now unsure how to get to other islands, except by swimming?
I'm about halfway through, so I don't know if you eventually noticed - but the reticle IS there, it's just a very small white dot that kinda moves around the nape of your neck, back, shoulders kind of area. :) The aiming does seem super wonky anyway though lol :)

I'm crazy about survival games so I was super excited to watch this and see what this new game is about. Gamewise, it feels like a much poorer version of Stranded Deep and Green Hell. I don't think it adds anything new to the table for survival games. It's still in early access so I don't want to be overly pessimistic, but I am not massively impressed by the devs. Like somebody else said in the comments, it feels more like a mod than a game. I look forward to an update and I hope the devs introduce a bit more soul into the game. Thanks for the vid Kage!
As someone who also loves survival games, I'm quite desperate to see almost all the new games are of this type, games which bring absolutely nothing new, it's ultra bland and generic, absolutly no originality, there's clearly a big stagnation in the genre for years and it's a real shame...

Kage save every piece of gold u get sell nitrite and suffer in no time u will have too much of these items u need 1000 gold ingots too make the devastator this thing is a fully automatic grenade launcher with unlimited ammo u can use it to gather resources or kill

Honestly thought it was weird at first but now that I know it’s his mom I don’t think it’s too weird because she’s just an affectionate mother. It’s a little inappropriate but I’m sure that wasn’t her intention.

It might be a programming problem, but it seems odd stuff collected disappears, as if it is all stored in a magic place no one can see. If the idea of a game is to be approaching realistic, the programmers need to get busy and put stuff on the ground that can be collected to make a sled to put stuff on and drag around. Obviously there are many other things that need to be available so running around collecting resources is a bit more realistic. The one drawback will likely be how the grind will get worse.
Rhinos, Kangaroos, Penguins, Capybaras, Cassowary and Humans on a tropical island. Where is that meant to be?

Looks like a replica version of a game called my island that is on steam i got for £3-4 pounds on steam a month or so ago. Graphics look alot better on the my island version and you have a few different maps, if you like this you should check that game.... all in all they're good games that are very addictive

Why do I think of Jim Carry when you run?

You know I think a lot of youtubers play as female just to have eye candy for viewers. However as a player, I can't really play as a female because I associate myself AS the character. It's me when I play. I am not controlling a character, I am the character.
I imagine if I was female I wouldn't enjoy playing as a male for the same reason.
Tomb Raider was about the only game I ever played where my avatar was female. I think that was because the 1st TR was such a revolutionary game at the time. There was nothing else like it at the time and having kind of gotten used to controlling croft. I was able to enjoy the sequels as well.
But games like horizon zero dawn or any of the rest of these new games that are only female avatars, I just have no interest in playing them.
Crafting System is almost the exact same as Kingdom of Atham

In real life, that Cassowary would've kicked your innards out. Goes to show that playing survival games doesn't grant you real survival skills.
I don't think guns are that useful until you have a decent amount of bullet. And make a base on a Island where there are a lot of trees. The trader is not that useful for now he is more of the convenience stuff
The body movements when the character runs is weird. It's how I imagine Ace Ventura running. Movement seems very stiff and robotic.

Be mindful of the trader....it's kinda gamebreaking. If you sell most of the stuff you mine from the rocks it kinda eliminates the need to gather resources.
