be very careful when separating the LCD connector cable - in the video theirs is loose already and they make it look easy - there are some very delicate connectors inside which you will damage!!!

Please emphasize the need to be very cable with the digitizer cable, it is mentioned (somewhat casually). Flexing the digitizer's ribbon cable may introduce cracks that prevent the screen touch sensor from working.
This is a great tutorial, but the cost of the replacement watch screens is so high that it is hardly worth the trouble. The cost of the a replacement screen for a 44mm series 4 is $269 and Apple charges $299 to just replace the watch. I'm not taking the risk of killing the watch to save $30.
This video is for the series 0 and series one. You can get replacement screens for those for $80, but apple still charges $250 to fix them. Definitely worth your trouble then.
This demonstrates a screen replacement but doesnt actually show how to remove broken glass from the display itself. No reseller offers the entire piece for sale so that would be somewhat pointless. Thats why she voiced how tricky some of the steps were..thats because these watches arent actually meant to be fixed this way.

Ok, I have been trying to replace my Apple Watch screen for two days now, and have tried to use a razor blade to open my watch, only to result in the aluminum case being scratched. What are you doing with it that I can’t see? My razor goes in the gap, and it still won’t open, even with a heat gun! Help?!
It’s easier to life the bracket with the screen flex attached and un buckle it from the side vs what she is saying putting a flat head into the bracket because you can and will damage one of the flex connectors
It's a shame this video left out any mention of the force touch sensor gasket... I tore mine thinking it was adhesive. I recommend finding another video that is much more detailed. I suggest you go by that instead. This one isn't quite enough detail to be fully prepared and get the job done correctly...
And to make matters worse I took the advice of the person in this video when opening the little LCD connector bracket and damaged the LCD connectors when popping in the flathead and turning. Now my watch is trash. That connector is soldered onto the processor board so there is no replacing it. Sucks...
I think the price for the kit is too high considering Apple does not fix the watch they replace it....so I would rather buy a new watch rather spend the money and time to replace the screen for the same money. It’s crazy....I don’t think people realize that Apple does not fix it they replace it.

She only covers maybe 1/4 of what you need to do. She only shows you how to remove the screen & display. Once you remove it, you still have to separate the broken glass screen from the display (which is the step that ruined my watch during my process). Also she doesn't show how to put it back together which FYI is much more complicated than taking it apart. DONT DO THIS YOURSELF UNLESS YOU HAVE TECH REPAIR EXPERIENCE.
anyone wondering where to buy display assembly. well as of today 04/06/2016 there is no place that sells them you can get glass only on ebay but you would have to re-use your old screen. meaning you would have to separate glass from lcd and applying loca glue to glue the new glass on which is by no way means easy enough for any one to do only real way to do it and have a good finished product will be using a machine like the ones used to recycle iphone screens and even then is still hard for a professional to do so just take it to apple or wait till China starts producing new ones
Completely agree Brian, spent 30 minutes doing everything right, then there's no way to remove the Display Module from screen. Selling screens is completely pointless, which is what I brought. You notice in the video, she get's the whole screen off but then clearly doesn't show how to remove glass from display. DON'T BUY NEW GLASS. I did purchase a new watch, however thought I could fix my 'old' one, no chance. All in the bin now. This is not acceptable from Apple, basically if your screen breaks, it's game over.

I think he meant that your warranty doesn't cover damages you did by accident or on purpose like scratching it or dropping it etc...
I have Apple Watch Series 3 Today I experienced with a big problem. The watch turned off and when pressing the side button its not turning on, even apple logo is not showing up. When put to charge, apple logo appears then goes away then comes back and goes away again and this keeps on repeating until I remove from charging I have no idea what to do, tried resetting/hard reset the watch by pressing power button and digital crown together for 10-15 seconds Still no apple logo shows up I don’t know what to do! Tried contacting apple, they say if its hardware problem I will have to replace the whole watch because apple watches are unrepairable. It’s over $150 for new screen, toolkit, adhesive and gasket. Might as well change battery since you got screen off, that’s another $18. The repair is rated difficult. Better to just buy a new Apple Watch with the latest tech.
I had a tiny scratch on the edge and it cracked a few months from the heat from sunlight when I had my arm next to the car window - like a winshield cracking.
+Iossif Gressis I was hoping this ifixit video actually showed how to take the LCD apart from the broken glass 'touch screen' (that's the part you received from Amazon). The LCD unit is stuck to the glass with a thin glue layer, and it is very difficult to take them apart. I managed to do that but it's painful. It requires detaching, then re-soldering the power traces to the backlight on the LCD. I epoxied the LCD loosely at a few places then put it back together again. It's easy to scrape/scratch off some of the polarizing polymer layers on the LCD unit while removing the glue and glass layer off the damaged display. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. So this video is nonsense. It does not show you how to replace the broken glass panel at all. The only alternative you have is to buy a full display off Aliexpress for $200+. Or go hunting for another unit that you can extract the screen from. YOU CANNOT REPLACE BROKEN GLASS ON THE APPLE WATCH AT HOME. Nevermind what this video says.

Actually it doesn't we did the repair and did not hurt the digitizer at all. However, we needed adhesive to make the screen stay in place. Good video
