Hi Nigel. The first time I saw high tension was when it was called switchblade romance (the original uk title) and I have to agree the twist at the end was brilliant. I loved the first time you saw the killer when he was sitting in his van getting head from a severed head😵😵😵
@shaunwerndley6799 😂😂😂 oh jesus I'd forgot about that bit. Switchblade Romance I've heard of that - what a shit title, High Tension is far better.
My sister would absolutely love that hat! She loves the Jaws films.
Is the transformation scene in The Werewolf and the Yeti as bad as the one in Werewolf (the Thai film)?! Hahahaha.
The lass with short hair in High Tension is so bloody annoying! Haha. Nice mention of Catchphrase's Ready Money Round in the review as well! 😆
Saw Killer Nun years ago and ended up laughing at it! 😂😂😂😂😂
The cover to Evil Laugh had me in stitches! LMFAO! 🤣🤣🤣
Lovely photo of Laura with Ralph Fiennes and Jason Isaacs.
I do enjoy the Addams Family films. Thing and Uncle Fester are my favourite characters.
I've now got an image of an onion turning into a killer whale! Orca the onion! Lol.
I might end up watching Tentacles because I love Octopi!
As always..... Thank you for a quality video. You always make me laugh and entertain.
@LittleMissGrosser Orca The Onion 😂😂😂 No the werewolf transformation isn't THAT bad lol. I don't think ANYTHING is THAT bad 😂 Oh her in High Tension absolutely boils my piss. Fast and furious in the ready money ROOOYYYND 😀
@rockgod2004 12:52 in 😂😂😂

Great video and some great films there mate
@Kotdt1 Thank you so much Danny 🙂
Excellent selection of films, haven't watched High Tension yet,Addams Family 1+2 are excellent, loved The Menu
@@MadMartysMovieReviews-gv6hk I think you'll like High Tension mate. Just stick with it.
Great video Nige, Innerspace is a GREAT Dennis Quaid film!! If you haven't seen it definitely check it out 👌
@stephenflanagan5560 I remember that coming out bit just never fancied it. Isn't it where they shrink him and he's travelling around inside someone's body? Glad you enjoyed the video mate, thank you so much 🙂
@@rockgod2004 Yep that's the one mate 👍 Think it still holds up really well
I had a feeling when you mentioned the end of High Tension, you were going to rip it a new one as it's so divisive. Glad you enjoyed it, Nige. Like i said in a previous comment, give Inside a go if youve never seen it. More French insanity but, for me, genuinely frightening and wince-inducing.
I agree about The Menu, too. Belting film with a great cast.
@Steve_281 Yeah I'd really like The Menu on 4K bit they haven't released it 🤦High Tension - WOW! That ending totally redeemed the entire film, very clever and unexpected. I also didn't realise that film was THAT old, I thought itvwas fairly recent. I've not heard of Inside i don't think 🤔 Someone is sending me Frontiers though which is another French film I believe.
Love that hat! Great video. I wasn't a fan of Crawl either, one and done.
@christopher98272 Cheers Christipher mate, really appreciate the kind words. Yeah it wasn't great - however at least it was watchable unlike The Substance and Testicles 😳
I have to agree about Unfriended. From what I remember it was brilliant. I've not seen it for a while, so I'll have to track it down. Great video, Nigel.
@@thatotherretroguy Thanks a million mate, really appreciate that 🙂
Love these videos Nigel keep em coming
@@Veniceredmask01 Thank you so much 🙂
Addams Family Values is fantastic, at the start when Morticia announced I'm having a baby...right now, still get me laughing.
@@ronsonroll LMFAO when o saw the baby's face - that tash 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The scene that really got me was towards the end involving the baby and aeroplane window 😂😂😂
I'm loving the hat, Nige, it doesn't get better than Jaws. Talking of Hammer films, I have 54 in my collection now, I think there's 158 in total so I still have a way to go. I have never seen Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane but it sounds pretty good. Evil Laugh is another one I like the sound of. I remember when you bought Testicles, I didn't realize it was going to be that bad. Some good watches there, Nige.
@singin8324 Thanks very much Gary mate. Wow 158????? I didn't know there was THAT many 😲 Oh honestly, you need to see Jodie Foster & Martin Sheen's performances in that film. Evil Laugh is just great cheesy 80's low budget horror goodness. Yeah Testicles is utter cack unfortunately mate.
Great Video Nige both The Addams Family movies are really good I was on about watching Wednesday Season 1 but the warning on the back of the Blu-Ray box is putting me off watching it anyway I haven't seen The Substance with Margaret Qualley but the only movie I seen of hers is Kind Of Kindness I thought that movie was good also can I ask did you change rooms or the same because it looks different
@marvelfan3634 Thanks very much mate 👍 A warning on Wednesday??? Oh - flashing lights. Lol no it's the same room, just the other side of it. After moving all the boxes I can sit on the sofa I usually always sit on.
Got Werewolf and Yeti on dvd the other day but haven't watched yet.
@@AlucardX666 Is it a DVD-R? I've only seen copy versions of it on DVD.
@rockgod2004 I believe so,I will be adding it to my pick up video on my channel soon.
I have Crawl on 4k, looks great. It’s entertaining. Worth a watch.
@jhberg17 My biggest issues with it were the fact it was mainly in that basement in the one house and that awful washed out colour effect they all seem to use now. I'll give it another go at some point. Parts of the storm scene's reminded me of Twister a little bit.
Shame you didn't like Crawl mate, same director as High Tension, I think they're both great.
Some good watches there bud, love abit of Evil Laugh.
Hope you're well
@bumpersmovies It was OK, just not as good as I was hoping. Evil Laugh is fantastic 😂 I love that film.
Thank you so much for the kind words bud, I'm not too bad mate, hope you're doing good 🙂
Hi Nige, thanks for a great review. I really appreciate your no-nonsense opinion 👍
@markley2 Bless you mate thank you so much. I really can't be bothered with this 5 minutes of explaining "this is just my opinion, if you like it that's great, it just wasn't for me" bollocks.
Oh I forget there's another live action Addams Family Movie with Tim Curry and Daryll Hannah.
@ronsonroll Yeah I've just found thos out - it sounds absolutely gash though, totally different cast.
Just watched The Substance and thought it was great. Really interested in how it elicited strong dislike from yourself. The ending was goopy like something from Frank Hennenlotter’s Basket Case sequels. Body Horror probably extends further back but is famously utilised in David Cronenberg’s horror films like Videodrome and The Fly. In the Substance the one thing that confused me is why these people would want to do this in the first place. I can’t see the benefit personally as you don’t get to have the experiences of the other person.
Agree that Tentacles is pretty naff.
@nathanchalmers9857 I think the strong dislike came from me thinking about how absurd and absolutely stupid the entire idea of it all actually was. I really don't like weirdness to that extent in films. And I think it's become apparent to myself that I can not abide this whole body horror thing. I really like Cronenberg's The Fly. To me that doesn't feel like a body horror thing, same as An American Werewolf In London doesn't. Body horror for me is stuff like The Substance, From Beyond, Society, Men - all of which I loathe for the absolute absurdity of them. And like you rightly say - WHY? WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT? There isn't one, it's just absolutely pointless.
@@rockgod2004 With you 100% regarding “ The Substance”. That’s 2hours+ I won’t get back!. Like you give me Cronenberg’s “The Fly” over this pile of utter shite! everyday of the week.
@outpost3178 Lol awww man it's absolutely shocking isn't it?
@@rockgod2004 You’re not wrong. By the way if you liked “Unfriended” have you seen “Host” about six friends who hire a medium to hold an online seance during lockdown. Well worth a view.
I'm delighted that Werewolf and gick-baller is good, I need to track it down now, its the last of the 72 I haven't seen
@mackchats6520 Same for me mate, it's taken a few years to track down. I was hoping someone in the UK or the US would have given it an individual release by now but.... nope.
@@rockgod2004 Yeah just seen the price of that set on Amazon, might wait til after the christmas, don't much fancy selling the house to get the price of it, getting to cold for that carry on.
@mackchats6520 😂😂😂 When I got it, it was down to £33 - I had a £30 voucher so it cost me 3 quid. But £33 is a really good price for that set, unless it's gone back up. And it was on amazon uk
Totally agree with you, Nigel, about these modern horror movies lacking depth of colour. Along with actors mumbling their lines and annoying flashbacks/jump cuts, the awful colour is another one of my main pet hates. I describe it as the "dirty dishwater colour", which I think is a very apt description, considering how washed out (no pun intended, lol) these movies always look! I love The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane too, and also own that blu ray. Am gonna check out Unfriended and its sequel, plus the two Adams Family movies. Paul Naschy's werewolf movies are generally excellent. Great video, mate. Take care.
@Truegho Thanks a million Al, really appreciate your kind words mate. Bear in mind Unfriended is like watching the entire as a computer screen layout, but I think it's a great film and it certainly doesn't out stay it's welcome. Have you not seen those 2 Addams Family films either? These were a first time watch for me, very entertaining with some really funny moments. Lurch with his big BULBOUS ....... head 😂😂
No worries, Nige. Yeah, am not really a fan of found footage, but will definitely check out UNFRIENDED, as to judge by your description, it sounds really good. Have ordered the sequel too. Nah, haven't seen the two Adams Family movies, so will be checking them out too.
@Truegho Yeah I'm gonna get the 2nd Unfriended film - Dark Web, sounds horrific already. The Menu is a cracking film Al, but jesus ...... The Substance 😳😳😳
Yeah, the title "Dark Web" definitely does evoke horrific images, Nige. If this sequel is as good as the first movie, it will make a nice double bill to keep in the collection. I will certainly be checking out "The Menu". Yeah, I have heard mixed reviews about that "Substance" movie. Another Marmite one, definitely.
@@Truegho I absolutely hated the substance Al, pointless nonsensical garbage
Paul Naschy films are always good he was a big fan of the universal and hammer films that is why his films are good
@kingdio It definitely shows Bri, the werewolf transformation is very similar. It definitely had Hammer vibes to it as well. I have absolutely no idea how the hell it ended up on the nasties list - especially a Section 1! It's ridiculous - you could have been in serious bother for having that film 😂 It just shows how clueless they were doesn't it?
Just heard the sad news that Tony 'Candyman' Todd has just died
@TheDriller-Killer Yeah absolutely tragic isn't it? 😢 Poor bloke had cancer, i had no idea.
that killer nun dvd might have better art work on the other side of the cover
@@kingdio Just had a look mate, it's just white, totally blank.
