Fr I adore women that look out for other women and girls sadly we need to protect each other because majority of men in this world are sexist and scary and violent to women for no reason
As a girl rider, I agree fully with everything she stated: - don’t feel pressured with getting a bigger bike than you feel comfortable with. Better to lose money with an upgrade in 2 or 3 years and riding a bike you don’t feel comfortable with and have a bad accident or scare with irreversible consequences. - the bikes of the people who invite us are also a good indicator of their intentions or riding style. I’ve ridden more often with older men in big BMW GSs than fellow small displacement bike owners my age who show through social media what they ride (usually fully modded sports bikes) and how they ride (squids, barely any safety equipment). - don’t cheap out on equipment. It will save your skin and your life - don’t buy a bike just to ride with others. It took me a year until I felt that I could trust my skills and bike enough to handle the new things riding with others could carry - don’t buy a bike to save money, haha - check out for local trainings every year to polish your riding skills. I do it early with the local police and road authority and it’s an amazing way to start the riding season Open to address any other questions. Ride safe!
I would add though, you _can_ use a bike to save money, but you have to stick to something like a 125 amd ditch the car. Not what the internet would call "fun", but everyone around my neck of the woods started on one. They're cheap. Cheap to buy. Cheap to run. Cheap to look after. But also most of us can't wait to qualify and upgrade, so there's much wisdom to your "don't expect to save money" point 😉
@@angelicelena depends a lot on the country. I live in Europe and got my license in Portugal so I spent 300€ for the classes + license and around 7000€ for the bike, registration, insurance and safety equipment.
@@233kostaExactly. A 125cc (specially in countries where you're allowed to ride one by simply having a car driving license) can come super cheap. But the moment you consider upgrading and want to be safe whilst doing it, it changes 😅.
@IStripesII look so goofy when I'm riding, I'm glad that wasn't my reason to start riding haha. But I love the feeling and I feel cool when doing it, and that's enough 😊
As a non-biker, I stan bikers who wear gear. I sometimes feel like I’m responsible for their safety when driving behind them, but admiring from a respectable distance away
@@daleseaton5670 Vereena and her friend Bryce Gage were involved in a motorcycle accident on February 28th. After the motorcycle hit a turning SUV. Bryce (who was driving) passed away on impact, and Vereena was taken to a hospital where she was/has been in the ICU.. there haven't really been any major updates anywhere from what ive seen.. but the accident itself was all over the news..😓 im sure the families involved are all just wanting privacy.. just hoping for the absolute best at this point.
@@ciarracasey thats horrible :( i recently just discovered her videos and thought she was awesome, breaks my heart to hear what happened to her and her friend.
@@ciarracasey So this was actually "riding with", on the same bike? Not quite what she was meaning in the video, but certainly valid. Be careful who you hop on a bike with as a backpack. As soon as I have a passenger, I turn into an old grandpa rider! I do everything slower, smoother, as best I can to keep them comfortable and safe! (With the occasional little quick acceleration, when safe, to show how fun a bike can be).
From what i found, while her friend was speeding a bit, the suv that made the turn should have let them pass through, so it was a mistake by the suv. Although it may have turned out differently if the driver hadnt been going so fast. Sometimes though its just others faults and not avoidable to be in an accident. @@Perry_Wolf
Here’s a big tip to really emphasize-wear your gear. I do not care if you think it’s cute to wear a crop top and jeans or leggings or whatever. Do that off the bike. Please protect yourself on the bike. I see too many fellow biker girls who just wear like regular pants or worse leggings and then regular shirts and maybe not even a regular jacket (armored is the best anyways but more layers is better than none). You dress for the slide not the ride
Currently saving the money to get the gear. If the concern is to look cute there’s plenty of “cute” gear available on the market. They actually make leggings with built in armor.
Fellow biker girl here! So excited for you to be doing female moto content! It’s rare and more ladies should definitely be a part of it if they’re interested. I started 2 years ago and love being a motorcycle gal
Me a ("GUY") in the year of 2024 I think carrying pepper spray, gun, or pepper spray gun variant should be a 100% common sense move for woman to make....and for any guy to say that a woman is "doing too much" for taking those kinds of safety measures is stupid lol
Thank you for this!! A certain person told me that exact thing... "I'm doing too much". And said that because I was carrying something like that, I was attracting it...
Please don’t feel shy about posting new content as it’s seriously so exciting& different for us to watch!! I absolutely LOVE bike content and can’t wait for the bike vlogs where we get to join you for a ride😆 it’s making me miss riding bikes so bad though
@@Quadruplits she got in a motorcycle accident :(( and is in the hospital, her family is keeping her status private so please be mindful of that as well🩷 praying & keeping her in our thoughts is important

1:25 I think I can speak for most of your followers when I say we prefer to get content that makes you happy because it'll be the highest quality . When a youtuber posts stuff that they themselves dont even want to do but just do it because they think its what their followers still want, its noticeable and it becomes boring bc i feel like us watchers can tell when a youtubers heart is in it or not. Post whatever content your heart desires! This is your platform to explore and express yourself ❤ dont worry about those who choose to unsub, you shouldnt have to fit in a certain box just to please everyone. And people like variety its good to switch up content every now and then dont be nervous. This was a great video 😊
3 days course to learn everything about motorcycles! Here in Europe it's so hard to get a licence, after you have done the slow maneuver practice around 30 hours, and driven at least 600 km 30 to 40 hours in real roads with an instructor in a car behind you, you have to pass 3 tests (theoretical test, very serious and hard slow maneuver test and driving test in real roads), then and only then you get the licence. You will be amazed of new bikers here in Europe with the level of skills and experience they already gained before acquiring the licence. Keep up the good work and drive safe.
There’s no way to learn everything you need to know in 3 days. Find a parking lot and practice slow speed maneuvers. PRACTICE emergency braking as much as you can. Don’t ride like an idiot. Maintain a safe distance between you and the car in front of you. Stay aware of your surroundings at all times. Constantly check your mirror’s. Always anticipate that the person in the lane to the left or right of you can not see you and does not know that you are there. Always wear full gear because you can do everything right and that’s what they’ll write in your obituary. Stay safe 🤞
i recently got my first bike and took a turn way to slow on the first day of having it lmaoo😭😭completely agree on everything you’re saying. you’re such a sweet soul, you’re so SMART and so beautiful. we love you so much V 💕💕💕 ty for looking out for the girlies!! women4women always
I am about to turn 50 and just got my first bike, and I am all for girls getting out and riding! It's SOOOOOO freeing... I signed up for the MSF through our local Harley dealership as a birthday present for myself, and we had our online class and written test, then 2 days of on-bike classes before taking our test. I had started looking at used bikes to start out when I initially signed up for the class and was wanting something to just tool around on - I got lucky and found a friend who had a bike she bought her daughter to learn on, but her daughter wanted a cruiser. So we bought it, picked it up, and the next week I took my class. I have me a sweet little 2012 Honda CBR250RA that I absolutely love. I do tippy-toe on it (I'm 5-3 in cleats) and I'm taking my time. Keep riding, keep learning, and keep vlogging - we all need to see women starting out where we are so we can get that confidence to progress
i have always thought motorcycles n bikers were so cool and i’ve been stalling on if i could or since im short but vereena has helped me changed that! this is definitely a sign for me to start my bike journey next year!! can’t wait for all the future motorcycle content💗💗
I was not interested in motorcycles at all but I love learning new things and mostly I love when people are embracing their passions 💜 keep doing you and show us what you enjoy in life 😍
QUESTIONS 1.Because you've backpacked as a kid you obviously felt that familiarity with bikes but were there certain fears you had as a learner or newbe apart from the obvious? 2. When you finally bought your bike and was able to ride freely, on your first day riding out did you feel stupid or self conscious? 3. Hypothetically speaking; let's say I'm on a group ride with more experienced riders and they get carried away and leave me behind, do i, (a) try to catch up but carefully at my own pace if there is a meeting point, (b) stop and try to get in contact if i can, or (c) just go back home if i feel hopeless 4. For a new rider, do you suggest going shorter distances at first just to get more familiar and comfortable? Or is it a go with what i can handle typa thing?
2. First time I managed to kill my bike thanks to not being used to my bikes clutch alot. Turning head is very important aswell, dont trust only the mirrors. 3. Don’t go crazy tryng to catch em, if they leave ya like frl then just go buy some ice cream from local store and watch some netflix or ride ya self and listen to bangers. 4. Short distence for sure. I reccommend myself your own neighbourhood. When ya already used to it expand it a lil more and like more. Dont make very long rides at first, ya need to get used to bikes clutch and everything and it comes with time. That is all my opinion though as a rider. Btw the gut feeling is frl frl, got in an accident aswell cuz went to school with bike while having bad feeling lol idk how to explain that but yeah listen to ya heart.
@@baseline4355 The mirror part? With bikes there are alot of blind spots. Most of the time there might be a problem where car can’t see you. I have had many momentd when I trusted my mirror too much and didn’t turn my head while switching lanes, thankfully didn’t happen anything. But always turn your head. And yeah! I did feel kinda stupid when killed the bike in front of the green light, maybe a little scared also, because there weren’t a teacher speaking in my ear what to do. But it will get over quickly, when riding. You can do it, don’t overthing too much sis:))
If they leave you behind as a new rider, then they probably aren't worth riding with. Never ride above your head to try and catch up. Ride your own ride. They should be waiting at any turn point for the rider behind units it is a well known route. Just continue to the next point to group up again.
Thank you for the note about not letting people push you into a bike that is too powerful for you. You can always get more horsepower later when you are comfortable with a smaller bike.
@@brunob8827 Same, from what ive seen in this comment section though, she got in a really bad crash with a friend. He was the one driving and he passed away on impact, she's severely injured and from what i know is/was in the ICU
I remember when I started & everyone tried to put me on a 600-1000. I’m so glad I didn't listen because my small bikes really taught me mechanics, more about bikes,& power differences.
For those that are worried about height, check your states laws about lowering your bike as well. CA doesnt allow it, but AZ does. Ive hurt my ankle riding in platforms & dont recommend it anymore 💚
Also, don’t worry about “performance” being affected. You much rather be confident that you have control and safely handling than being creative with trying to reach the ground.
i love how ur not afraid to make your bike cute and not afraid to ask questions/not know things or just being a smaller woman on a bike bc GIRL SAME. we needed this.
i didn't know who you were until yesterday when i saw a reel of yours on ig with your pink bike, so ICONIC!!!! literally goals, i'm following you everywhere now lol. Pls do "how-to" videos for all things bike for dummies who are interested in bikes like me but have no idea what they're doing (literally how to ride, correct posture, foot positioning, different/changing gears, stalling, front/rear breaking, good exercises to improve riding, etc)
I’m so happy for my motorcycle girlie 😻🫶🏾 your bike is so pretty!!! The pink and black, the little heart hoops on the back (I have no clue what those are 🥰) the kuromi sticker! The bike is literally perfect!! I remember watching the IG reels of you riding the black bike. You look like you were having so much fun! Can’t wait for you to post more motorcycle videos! ☺️💕
GSXR600 was my first baby. I DID end up lowering it as im only 5"2...that made all the difference at stops and gave me stronger footing and control over the weight of my bike, making it feel much safer. no difference in handling. My second bike was a stretched and lowered gsxr- don't recommend that because the turning ratios were all screwed. I learned in Alaska where I was in the army and the military offered a free course- def don't ride without a course. I took it down to Miami when I moved, and it got totaled at a red light when some lady t boned me. Cities are sketch- so always be extra extra alert. Tips- Add drop bumpers ( in case you drop your bike you won't scratch your up all your panels ), & ALWAYS wear your protective gear.My second accident happened the *one time * I left vest at home, and I broke my collar bone, lower back, and rib that day. Also, trust your instincts.. I had an irie feeling when I was leaving the house that day but bypassed it...esp as a woman our intuition is strong. * also, loud exhaust is your friend .. add a custom one for safety- cuz these cars don't be looking for ya.
If you're short, I can't recommend the Honda Rebel line enough. The seat is only 27 inches off the ground, and the smallest one (300) is under $5K brand new and can get up to 80mph (albeit not quickly). If you're after something more "sporty", then get used to the tip toe. As long as you can put 1 foot down, you can ride it
My bf of 5 years has two bikes…a 2023 Harley street bob and a Yamaha street bike…been wanting to ride my own forever instead on the back of 1 of his. Thanks for this…I needed that push to just go for it! Thank you!
Fellow newbie on a Ninja 400, and also 5'1", so this was a joy to watch. FWIW I'm of east Asian descent so I'm about 90% torso. I have these stumpy little legs and I can only get one tiptoe down, so I'll legit be lowering my bike until I have the balance/skills/coordination to be able to reliably pop a cheek off at intersections and not have it HADOUKEN me into the ground. Sports bikes like these are so top-heavy, when they tip they really pound you into the tarmac. Ask me how I know 🙃 It's heartbreaking but true what you say about there being creeps and weirdos on bikes just like every other interest, and women needing to carry just as much caution with them as everywhere else. There are so many brilliant, kindhearted, wonderful souls out there on two wheels but they're not the problem, and I wish other dudes understood that a bit better. Really hope this vid inspires more women and femmes to jump on two wheels though. All hobbies and interests benefit from more diverse enthusiasts participating.
I definitely want more motorcycle content!! I could honestly sit here and listen to you talk about motorcycles for hours. I’ve always really loved them and maybe hope to get one in the future.
I’ve been riding all sorts of motorcycles almost everyday for 12 years (Mainly just road bikes now). I love teaching new riders or non riders who are interested. I’ve told everyone, no questions a stupid question I will happily answer anything. I started on a Chinese 50cc quad and now I daily a worked 09 SV650!
In my case being in MD, I took the Harley Davidson MSF course and it was 300-something bucks Friday evening to Sunday. The class in the evening was in-person and went over written basics. Saturday was the first day on the bikes and it was quite nice but overall the class was brutal due in part to the coach but due to his "hazing" I felt better prepared especially for heavy DMV traffic. To put into perspective we had about 20 people in the class to start... by the end it was just 3 people including me. Quite a few dropped out, some had mental breakdowns and some were involuntarily ejected from the class... any time someone dropped the bike or in one case, wrecked we'd have to sit there with the bike on, hand on the clutch until the coach returned which could be 40min. Overall it was very enjoyable. Due to various issues we fell behind and we had to do more learning stuff before we did our actual riding test. After the riding portion it was the written exam and if you passed, you received your voucher and all you had to do was go to the MVA and get the "M" put on your license! My biggest tip is dress comfortably! I made the mistake of having a BLACK motorcycle textile (Johnny Rocket) jacket at the end of September and it was hot and HUMID. I was sweating so much and uncomfortable... all you need for the class is long sleeves and boots that cover the ankles with some gloves. Wear a light sweater or something and flat boots. BILT makes affordable riding high top sneaker boots which I used and were great. The women in my class mostly had heels and it seems like a pita to shift or brake reliably. Also bring a LOT of water and snacks that aren't thirst provoking. Motorcycling is a lot more physical than I initially thought it'd be and that can take its toll so stay hydrated. I cramped up so hard... you don't have to lol. During the class REALLY focus on the slow maneuvers and try to get them down. As she said in the video, the bike will be harder to control at slower speeds - understand how to counter-balance and maybe even ask your coach for tips! As far as first bikes go, I got an Indian Scout Bobber and while that's over 1200 CC's, it was very manageable. Cruisers in general would be an excellent option due to their gearing and overall power or lack thereof... with the low center of gravity you can build up some confidence. Now I am looking for a bike for my wife who is about 5'5" or so - cruisers aren't necessarily the best for her if you're thinking of "out of the box" riding. Her feet can touch the ground but she can't really reach which isn't a problem if you just get longer bars. She sat on sport bikes and felt way more comfortable... you're higher up, sure but the bike can be easily lowered. The main thing is her arms could reach the handlebar and turn it without and discomfort or straining. As far as gear goes, invest in the gear you want the first time. I got some friends that recently got into riding and they got cheap gear that really didn't stand up to daily riding or they had major complaints and kept spending on cheap gear. Get something that is quality rather than buying junk that will eventually surpass the price of that piece of gear you want. She hit the nail on the head with safety though. Even as a guy, people have done some sketchy stuff and came at me for no reason. Be careful who you associate with and ride within your limits. Don't let people pressure you to go faster. This may be me being an introvert though but I really don't have people to ride with even though some friends do ride now (they aren't always about it lol). That said, if you're at a group ride, don't be afraid to dip if ppl get wild.
Yessss!! Please talk about the basics of riding! I loved this video and everyone should of course take the safety course, but hearing a first hand perspective would be soooo helpful thank youu!!
Wow it’s so easy to have the motorcycle licence in California! In Europe, you have to take a writing test, a dozen hours of riding lessons, a driving test on the road and another test testing your capabilities like slow riding, urgency braking etc.. and for the first two years having your licence you can’t drive a bike too big. (Like not bigger than 650cc). It’s a whole commitment, like I wish it was easier to get it but at the same time it’s a way to make it safer for everyone on the road so yeah :)
i'm actually thankful for that, reduce the risk for us to fully know what we're doing in critical situations !! But now that she had a motorcycle accident i'm reconsidering
Thank you for making this! I've been scouring the internet for videos to introduce the basics of riding and motorcycles, and it's sooo hard to find videos from girls and I think we have some specific experiences that are important to be aware of. Thank you!!!
Please make more!!! You’re wonderful and your spirit is MASSIVE!!! I’m about to get my bike here within the next couple months and I’m doing my research and studying and watching videos!! I’m grateful for the information that you gifted out. It’s very meaningful and impactful. Please continue to make more. I’ll always keep you and everyone on two wheels in my most sacred prayers for protection!!!

moved in with my dad recently. he got me into bikes and i took the safety course. i passed thankfully and then got to looking at bikes. we originally went to the dealer ship but ended up getting a used bike off craigslist instead. im 5 ft and can flat foot my bike which is a 1200 harley sportster low. i did have to get it lowered a bit more and change the seat to a smaller one but it works. i was originally going to start off with a lower cc but my dad convinced me with this one because and i quote "you will get bored of it after a month." And he was right, i have the zoomies. glad i got it and shorties can infact ride. maybe just dont start on 1200 if your nervous. or do, just be careful you can still go slow on a bigger bike. you dont gotta go from 10-40mph in 2 seconds lol. my dad is more experienced than me (obviously) and he was very clear that he wanted me to get either a harley davidson, triumph or bmw. i will mention that if you are new to riding like i am, PLEASE TRY TO GET A BIKE YOU CAN FLAT FOOT OR LOOK INTO GETTING YOUR BIKE LOWERED IF YOU CANT. it made a complete difference in my riding in one day by just being able to support myself properly on my bike. stalling a bike on your tippy toes is very hard to balance though that may just be because my bike is so heavy (500 pounds). and being able to have your feet touch the ground can help you become confident when driving slow. even in the msf course, they made sure to change out the seat to make sure i can flat foot because it really does give you a confidence boost. and when your starting out i would look to see if its possible to get a engine guard added as well so that should you drop the bike (please dont do this. its fine if you do but dont do it. it makes the bike sad) then its protected. speaking of protection. good helmet, leather jacket, gloves and boots. the helmet should cost between $90-$200 where as the jacket will cost around 400+. its a lot but will save you from severe injuries should anything happen whilst your out riding. i dont wear my jacket as often as i should but i always leave the house with gloves, helmet, jeans, and boots. if im going out in an area i dont know or just going on a long trip then i always bring my jacket. another thing to note and you will hear in the course, treat the road as if no one sees you. even if a driver is waving. they cant see you. people have the attention spans of goldfish :) look at their front tires and scan far ahead so you know whats going on around you. always try to keep track of everyone around you and keep yourself in a position so the drivers can see you. go a bit faster than traffic on the highway. its safer for you. you want to protect yourself. a car is fine if they hit you. you are not. start out in parking lots and work your way up from there. my dad had me go to a park and go in circles and then eventually nudged me onto the road and then highway once he believed i was ready. nothing wrong with taking things slow. just stay safe out there. next step for me is finding people to ride with atm
I'm a fellow girlie who wanted to get into bikes because of the internet, but my mum is a nurse and my dad has a fear of motorcycles from his childhood, so it will have to stay a nice dream haha "while it is a form of therapy, it is not my therapist" is such an important sentence to say, it is INSANE how many people confuse the two. Riding is not therapy, it's a coping mechanism. If it were therapy, people wouldn't feel the need to go on a ride after a certain amount of time. Very good vid with lots of important info 👍 Be epic & stay safe y'all
I bought my bike lowered by previous owners. If you lower correctly it doesn't cause issues with the bike. It's when you cut corners and cheap out that you ruin the lines of the bike or cause damage to the suspension.
this is so exciting! Thank you for making this, I can’t wait to get mine. Definitely been nervous about being a biker girly but this video definitely made me feel like it’s a safe space. Thank you!!!
so real for talking about the consuming thoughts. I am so inspired by you but know I'm not at a place in life to start my bike journey, but I am so happy to watch yours. you're doing great and I can't wait for more videos!!
I've been studying to get a motorcycle for a while now and I'm super excited about it! But finding tips and advice is kinda hard for me including beginner bikes, so your suggestions made me really happy! I'm still pretty young (highschooler) and my parents are supportive about it while still taking my safety seriously. Thank you so much! ❤❤❤
I bought a bright pink moped over a month ago and I still haven’t road it to work. I fell off it once already, so I’m kinda scared. Love your motorcycle. It’s so pretty. I love that shade of pink.
Ughh I was obsessed with motorcycles as a kid and it was my dream to ride. I think after watching your motor content I’m gonna try to get over my irrational driving fear and try and get my motorcycle license
Girl I have been riding for 3 nearly 4 years and I still don’t know how to do basic maintenance on my bike. I’ve tried to learn and tried to ask people AND I’ve tried looking it up on TH-cam… nothing. I appreciate this so much ❤
I've been riding for 10 yrs in Southern California. Got my license my senior yr of highschool when I was 18, started on a sv650s. I'm now on 2015 s1k. I have no riding friends. Honestly, I am too scared to lose a friend to a motorcycle accident, so I stay solo dolo. Some advice, if you do ride in groups, is to be aware that sometimes riding in groups will make you lose focus. You are with your friends you are having a good time but the dangers are still present. Also riding with a group can make some people ride outside of their comfort zone so to keep up with those riders that are more experienced. Like vereena said, ride like you are invisible and with a little luck can make it to 10 yrs riding also :)
i just wrote a paragraph about how this video helped me bring back my motorcycle obsession from when i was younger and i mentioned how important safety was and then hearing she’s still recovering from her accident. i had no idea how bad it really was. it’s more important now than ever to stop encouraging unsafe behaviour on a bike. don’t speed, wear your gear, have common sense, be aware of who else is on the road. it just isn’t worth the risk of losing your life or another innocent persons life over- it isn’t just you out there.
The best point here is definitely not being pushed to a bigger bike early. You’ll notice the more you meet people the people that will try to push you to a bigger bike are often the riders with less skill and only care about speed. Ride smart, master skills, and only move up when you have out grown the bikes capabilities. Most riders accidents are riders trying exceeding their skills while riding bikes that exceed them as well. Big ups bike fam
Thank you for the video! I just decided i will take my biker license (I'm from Brazil so the process is hella different) but hearing your words as a female biker made me even more confident in my decison. I don't want to become a rider for hobbie, but I see many opportunities for me now in having one over a car specially reggarding traffic. If everything goes right, by the end of the year I will have my license and my motorcycle to be able to visit my family for christmas. I do have many friends with bikes so I will see if right after I got my license they ride with me for me to gain more confidence, as the road for my family town is some hours away. Wish me luck! Brazil's licensing process is a pain
In my country (Brazil) you HAVE TO take 20hrs of theorical classes about traffic, first aid, basic mechanics etc, and then a test, and aaafter the test you take a minimum of 20hrs of practical classes riding a motorcycle in a closed circuit, then another test and THEN you can ride a motorcycle on the streets! (same for cars!)
**For the short girlies (couldn't be me, freakin 6'1 over here lmfao I wish :') ), the honda rebel is a great cruiser (where your not leaning forward like on a sport bike). My BFF is 5'3 and rides with a lowered rebel with no issues! Its interesting to see the differences in Cali vs Canada (ontario). We paid about the same amount when you convert it over. First day was a Thursday 2hr class, meet the instructors and basics on how to ride and stuff. Day 2 was Saturday, 7am to 3pm and you start picking your bike to ride for the weekend, one person rides in neutral the partner pushes to get used to the feeling of riding. The actual riding, some skill challenges and things to get used to like round abouts, swerves and stuff. Then Sunday same time, we had the last 2hr for testing. It was only a riding test that we practiced for most of the day; 6 sections, most involved start from a position, get into 2nd gear and finish within the time limit. It was only a curve, there was 2 for that one, one was a sharper turn and you had to stop in the end spot. Another one was a much sharper curve, stay in the lines, get through in so many seconds. Another, stop within the designated area. Another, get into I believe it was 3rd gear, and emergency swerve whichever direction the instructor pointed last second. All of them were time based for the most part. Once we finished, we got our scores. If you passed, same thing it's emailed and you go to the drive test center, hand in your form and your good! You have to get your license within 90 days of getting your M1, which is our written test of 3 sets of 20 questions. Then once your on your M2, you can ride just not at night and the same rules as a car. Then you have 5 years to get your full M, which is a on road drive test. My instructor place teaches the M drive test too, where as our M2 test was in a parking lot. But it was really fun. You ride rain or shine, so we rode in some rain the beginning of Sunday. If you fail, you can retake free of charge as well here too.
It's a preferred mode of transport. I used to cycle to College about 6 miles each way. So soon as i was legal to ride a motorbike i got one, no brainer, the fun of being on a bike but no more pedalling!😮 I don't understand cyclists. Thank you Vereena.👏👏👏👏👏 Now Newbs in LA have someone to sit down and chat with. Tips. Tuck laces in, don't ride with shoe/boot laces hanging, they can wrap round the gear shift lever and prevent you putting your foot down. Just kick quickly to snap them, cheaper than fixing a danaged bike.👍 Don't ride with your visor fully open, a bug hitting you at 30mph is like a stone hitting your face! I park my bike in first gear, stops it rolling off the sidestand if some drunk falls into your bike, and stops an idiot wheeling it away. Keep house keys in your pocket, don't have a whole bunch of keys on your ignition key coz it can scratch paintwork and if you do a jump the weight can pull the keys out, then you'll need to go back and find them. I should make this number 1, gentle braking. It's not like a car where you put all your weight on a pedal, the bike is a lot lighter and just a gentle squeeze is needed even in an emergency. Please practice slowing down quickly. Just keep up with traffic flow and don't be going too fast too soon. ❤️+✌️
I appreciate anyone that gives their experience/opinion when it comes to motorcycles because the more I understand something the easier I learn. At this point I've heard almost everything but I feel repetition is key with these things, also it's just plain entertaining.
Thank you for this content, it’s so needed for us girlies! I don’t know anyone who rides and everyone in my life is discouraging me from getting into it but the appeal is strong! Really excited to take my time and start learning about everything before I jump in
it’s great you’re enjoying her content but maybe think twice about getting a motorcycle, she ended up in an accident and the driver of the bike died and she’s now seriously injured and in a coma. That’s why she hasn’t posted in a few months. 😔 Please be safe
I’m very beginner rider and omg! You are amazing person! Please, make more videos of your experience, studying or thoughts about bike!! You are super informative and helpful! Specially for girls.. on our language. 😭😍
My dad always picked me up on a motorcycle from elementary school too and I just got my first bike at 24 even though I haven’t taken the classes yet. 😅 I’m a bit nervous but also very excited and I needed this video so thank youuuu!!!
She got into an accident on her motorcycle at the end of February. Her friend was killed at the scene and she has been in critical condition since. Really sad stuff.
I got my first bike this winter, I got a yamaha dragstar 650 cause Im 4'8, Im getting my license this summer, the way of getting a licence is way more complicated in my country and it can take months, but Im so excited, my mom and stepdad both have bikes and its gonna be so fun learning, and being able to just drive around with friends. Already in a motorcycle group cause of them and I know that group is ready to help anyone in any issue, so Im gonna get a lot of help with rebuilding it more to my height.
Here in Sweden: you have to pass, Risk 1, Risk 2, driving hours (or of you find someone to teach you MC), send in your ’eye-papper’ to the DMV, then pass therory test, and then the practical test. Going to Span to drive first time MC. Getting that license ladies!!❤😍 love this Channel!
I’m below 17, and I’ve always wanted a bike so so bad. I’ve started to get more into it lately, and this has helped me way more! I still have a lot of time to learn about it, but it’s just my parents are extremely strict and just don’t support it. But we’Ll see, I have few years left!
You make some really valid points in this video. I am an experienced rider, and I do ride a big bike, but I'm constantly learning every day. I think it's awesome that more females are getting into riding, and although it is a hobby dominated by males, I think there's something in motorcycling for everyone. I have met some very talented riders since I started and some of those riders have been female. So keep on doing what you're doing and if there's anything I can do to inspire or motivate you or your friends feel free to reach out. I'm from Oklahoma and I love riding. I love all motorcycles too, even though I have my favorite brands.
pls start moto-vlogging!!!! I need more women moto-vloggers to watch. Gopro, mic, and thats it. I love watching ppl ride bc I can't rn bc im broke hehe. anyways love the video 🥰
I started on a 700 ‘97 nighthawk and it was really nice, but I would never recommend a beginner to start on anything higher than 400 if they wanna get a sport bike. Mine was incredible heavy cruiser which brought the acceleration down drastically which made the fact that it was a 700 more controllable, while still allowing it to handle 90mph fairly easily (on the interstate lol). Sport bikes are incredibly light in comparison so when I inevitably get a sport bike I will def cap myself at 600/650. A Ninja 650 is tempting, but if you are a beginner go for a 400 instead.
hi! just wanted to say thank you for making this video :) im trying to get into cars and ik this about biking but it's still really helpful and encouraging!! have fun be safe love you all 🫶

Fr I adore women that look out for other women and girls sadly we need to protect each other because majority of men in this world are sexist and scary and violent to women for no reason
she's in the hospital now in critical condition:(
As a girl rider, I agree fully with everything she stated:
- don’t feel pressured with getting a bigger bike than you feel comfortable with.
It will save your skin and your life
- don’t buy a bike just to ride with others. It took me a year until I felt that I could trust my skills and bike enough to handle the new things riding with others could carry
- don’t buy a bike to save money, haha
- check out for local trainings every year to polish your riding skills. I do it early with the local police and road authority and it’s an amazing way to start the riding season
Open to address any other questions. Ride safe!
How much does it cost in total? Like the bike + courses etc?

You dress for the slide not the ride
honestly this may just be for me but wearing gear makes me feel badass and i'd rather feel like a girl boss than a cutesy motorcyclist
@@TheyLuvJadie821 REALL
Currently saving the money to get the gear. If the concern is to look cute there’s plenty of “cute” gear available on the market. They actually make leggings with built in armor.

Stay safe 🤞

CRYING I LOVE U
Keep riding, keep learning, and keep vlogging - we all need to see women starting out where we are so we can get that confidence to progress
if you ever even get a girl, teach her how to ride and ofc only get her bikes for gifts

QUESTIONS
1.Because you've backpacked as a kid you obviously felt that familiarity with bikes but were there certain fears you had as a learner or newbe apart from the obvious?
2. When you finally bought your bike and was able to ride freely, on your first day riding out did you feel stupid or self conscious?
3. Hypothetically speaking; let's say I'm on a group ride with more experienced riders and they get carried away and leave me behind, do i, (a) try to catch up but carefully at my own pace if there is a meeting point, (b) stop and try to get in contact if i can, or (c) just go back home if i feel hopeless
@@Helerin could you please emphasize on the 2 answer. Also, thank you so much, your response was helpful. And 3 is definitely something I'd do lol
@@Helerin thank you so much!!
You can always get more horsepower later when you are comfortable with a smaller bike.
these old videos are eerie to watch now :*( i hope you can one day make a full recovery.

No way you went from taking rides with your dad to being the one driving. Im so proud been watching you forever. Live your live precious.💗
If you're short, I can't recommend the Honda Rebel line enough. The seat is only 27 inches off the ground, and the smallest one (300) is under $5K brand new and can get up to 80mph (albeit not quickly).
If you're after something more "sporty", then get used to the tip toe. As long as you can put 1 foot down, you can ride it
Thank you 🫶

Fellow newbie on a Ninja 400, and also 5'1", so this was a joy to watch.
FWIW I'm of east Asian descent so I'm about 90% torso. I have these stumpy little legs and I can only get one tiptoe down, so I'll legit be lowering my bike until I have the balance/skills/coordination to be able to reliably pop a cheek off at intersections and not have it HADOUKEN me into the ground. Sports bikes like these are so top-heavy, when they tip they really pound you into the tarmac. Ask me how I know 🙃
It's heartbreaking but true what you say about there being creeps and weirdos on bikes just like every other interest, and women needing to carry just as much caution with them as everywhere else.

I’ve never clicked so fast on a video before, love you and your bike girly 😩🩷

And he was right, i have the zoomies. glad i got it and shorties can infact ride. maybe just dont start on 1200 if your nervous. or do, just be careful you can still go slow on a bigger bike. you dont gotta go from 10-40mph in 2 seconds lol. my dad is more experienced than me (obviously) and he was very clear that he wanted me to get either a harley davidson, triumph or bmw. i will mention that if you are new to riding like i am, PLEASE TRY TO GET A BIKE YOU CAN FLAT FOOT OR LOOK INTO GETTING YOUR BIKE LOWERED IF YOU CANT. it made a complete difference in my riding in one day by just being able to support myself properly on my bike. stalling a bike on your tippy toes is very hard to balance though that may just be because my bike is so heavy (500 pounds). and being able to have your feet touch the ground can help you become confident when driving slow. even in the msf course, they made sure to change out the seat to make sure i can flat foot because it really does give you a confidence boost. and when your starting out i would look to see if its possible to get a engine guard added as well so that should you drop the bike (please dont do this. its fine if you do but dont do it. it makes the bike sad) then its protected. speaking of protection. good helmet, leather jacket, gloves and boots. the helmet should cost between $90-$200 where as the jacket will cost around 400+. its a lot but will save you from severe injuries should anything happen whilst your out riding. i dont wear my jacket as often as i should but i always leave the house with gloves, helmet, jeans, and boots. if im going out in an area i dont know or just going on a long trip then i always bring my jacket. another thing to note and you will hear in the course, treat the road as if no one sees you. even if a driver is waving. they cant see you. people have the attention spans of goldfish :) look at their front tires and scan far ahead so you know whats going on around you. always try to keep track of everyone around you and keep yourself in a position so the drivers can see you. go a bit faster than traffic on the highway. its safer for you. you want to protect yourself. a car is fine if they hit you. you are not. start out in parking lots and work your way up from there. my dad had me go to a park and go in circles and then eventually nudged me onto the road and then highway once he believed i was ready. nothing wrong with taking things slow. just stay safe out there. next step for me is finding people to ride with atm
I got my motorcycle license last year and just started riding on my bike & im so happy to have found your video & channel!! ❤️
girly! you are going to change my life so much and you were so informative on things that i wanted to know. I love you so much!
I'm a fellow girlie who wanted to get into bikes because of the internet, but my mum is a nurse and my dad has a fear of motorcycles from his childhood, so it will have to stay a nice dream haha
"while it is a form of therapy, it is not my therapist" is such an important sentence to say, it is INSANE how many people confuse the two. Riding is not therapy, it's a coping mechanism. If it were therapy, people wouldn't feel the need to go on a ride after a certain amount of time. Very good vid with lots of important info 👍
Be epic & stay safe y'all
It’s crazy to see how far you’ve come!! I LOVE IT!! Keep going Vereena!!!
As a girlie who is struggling to ride bless your heart 💜
You seem like such a wise girl. Great content, great tips. ❤ Subscribed.
I bought my bike lowered by previous owners. If you lower correctly it doesn't cause issues with the bike. It's when you cut corners and cheap out that you ruin the lines of the bike or cause damage to the suspension.
Do a bike tour pls!! Would love to know more details about your bike and how you decorated it to fit you and your personality!!
YESSSS
this is so exciting!
You’ve inspired me to start to ride when I get older! Thanks for the tips, and I will definitely be doing the course lol
I love that shade of pink.
you're so sweet and you talk about everything with so much care and you're so pretty queen
Ughh I was obsessed with motorcycles as a kid and it was my dream to ride. I think after watching your motor content I’m gonna try to get over my irrational driving fear and try and get my motorcycle license
Bro tell me you changed your mind after her accident and being in a coma for months now
i would also recommend pepper GEL to the girlies!!! doesn’t blow away in the wind n goes straight where you’re pointing it!!
TH-cam brought me. I been riding for maybe 4 years, love what you're putting out here. Good excitement, good advice, good attitude

Same in France and it’s sooo pricey 😭
Hi I love you, been here since you lived in your mom’s house. I’ve loved watching you grow up and slay.
this is so sweet thank u love 🥹
Fello beginner girlie!
Thank you for posting this as it was comforting to see a woman talk about these things from her own perspective! Subscribed ❤
Just kick quickly to snap them, cheaper than fixing a danaged bike.👍
Don't ride with your visor fully open, a bug hitting you at 30mph is like a stone hitting your face!
This was a real talk and I needed it. I’ll go sit in my thinking bubble now and weigh things out
Praying for u queen ❤
Watching this after her accident. Praying for you and your family Vereena! 😭
My dad always picked me up on a motorcycle from elementary school too and I just got my first bike at 24 even though I haven’t taken the classes yet. 😅 I’m a bit nervous but also very excited and I needed this video so thank youuuu!!!
Right on young lady. You have a lot of wisdom for your age. Thank you for sharing. May the good Lord always keep you safe while riding. 🙏🏼
I’ve been looking for a video like this. Genuinely thank you.
Omggg I freaking love this video! It feels like such a safe space especially for the girlies💗
this is my first video of yours, and i'm already subscribed
I’m below 17, and I’ve always wanted a bike so so bad. I’ve started to get more into it lately, and this has helped me way more! I still have a lot of time to learn about it, but it’s just my parents are extremely strict and just don’t support it. But we’Ll see, I have few years left!
lower seat hight do not change spring tension or rate. You can bring just the tail down an inch or 2
You make some really valid points in this video. I love all motorcycles too, even though I have my favorite brands.
thanks for this candid video! Awesome to see a lady rider on YT. I'm looking to take my 3 day class later this month!!
The pink bike and pink car is iconic 💕✨ in love
I just got my first bike! Thanks for the tips! It's really nice to know that other girl riders exist hahaha
pls start moto-vlogging!!!! I need more women moto-vloggers to watch. Gopro, mic, and thats it. I love watching ppl ride bc I can't rn bc im broke hehe. anyways love the video 🥰
I’ve always wanted to have a Barbie bike since I was a little girl. This is really motivating me to start that dream.
Thank you for making this video vereena, love the bike content and I love how kind and sweet you are, you go girl 🖤✨
hi! just wanted to say thank you for making this video :) im trying to get into cars and ik this about biking but it's still really helpful and encouraging!! have fun be safe love you all 🫶

I absolutely LOVE the passion you have for motorcycles and it makes it so nice to watch even tho I don’t ride ❤
